Familiar name eh? You guys thought this "team" was dead? Well, you thought wrong!
My name is Elusory, and I'm the self-proclaimed-and-given-title People's Person for SEA Serpents. SEA Serpents have been very alive ever since the forming of the group. Though initially we were supposed to be a new team and rek everyone else, today, we're a close group of practice partners and are looking to prove our worth against clans.
Over the past few weeks, we've been secretly sparring against ToR in a soccer-style format (yeah I named it myself), where as many players as possible would be fielded, and then the overall score will be taken. Somewhat like a Proleague format, just that it goes all the way to the ace match no matter the outcome. Perhaps what this post will be saying later on will help you understand...
Instead of streaming the games and having end up wasting the caster's efforts because of 5 viewers on average, for future wars that we may have with clans, I'll be doing detailed write-ups for each game that happens, since it's much easier to just speed-read what happened instead of sitting through a 3 hour stream. So... here goes!
Map: Polar Night LE
Spawn positions: 12' (Jazz), 6' (Jemsk)
Replay: http://drop.sc/380037
The first game of the series kicks off with a TvT, and both players already have different openings. Jazz opens with a 12rax 15gas while Jemsk goes for the gas first opening. Jemsk then goes for factory, while Jazz, after churning out 2 Marines, builds a reactor on his Barracks and then another CC. While constantly producing Marines, Jemsk immediately builds a Starport and it looks like he's setting up for a 1-1-1 as the 2nd gas is taken too. At the same time, Jazz would throw down his Factory while producing marines out of his Reactor Barracks.
Banshees and cloak begin to produce in Jemsk's Starport, while Jazz now swaps his Barracks with his Factory to produce 2 Hellions at a time. Becasue he threw down a scan in Jemsk's base, he knows what is about to come, so he quickly produces a Raven.and a Viking next. As the game unfolds, Jemsk realises that Jazz is already prepared with turrets in base and a solid defence, hence he is forced to pull back without dealing any economic damage. Both players now transit into a standard Marine-Tank composition.
At the 13 minute mark, the upgrade disparity is starting to show already as Jazz has Stim and +1/+1 finished, while Jemsk has only just started researching +1/+1. At 15:00, Jazz begins to push out, but with a smaller tank count than his opponent. Both players are just now starting to mine from their 3rd already. At the 3rd of Jemsk, because of Jazz having Stim while Jemsk does not, it looked like Jazz would be able to take down the 3rd, but with constant reinforcement from Jemsk, he manages to hold and Jazz is forced back, with both players at equal supply of 120.
Now Jemsk, with the superior tank count, starts to push out on the map and manages to catch Jazz army as he was about to move out. By sieging his tanks, Jemsk managed to take out almost all of Jazz's army. Jazz is forced to lift off from the 3rd and now Jemsk sets up a very nice contain outside the far ramp of Jazz's natural. After realizing that the tank count is too superior for him to handle, Jazz taps out, 1-0 to ToR!

Now trailing 0-1 in this Bo3, Jazz opts to open up with a 12rax 12gas this time while Jemsk is still sticking to the strategy that worked for him. A reaper is subsequently build for Jazz and just as it leaves its base, it denies the scouting SCV of Jemsk. While scouting the whole of Jemsk base, he dropped an additional Barracks and a CC. Jazz sees all that he has to see, which is the same 1-1-1 opening from Jemsk and the two gases, and the heroic Reaper eventually dies to the Marines that were chasing him. Jemsk still continues to make the Banshee and research Cloak, while Jazz gets his Factory while researching Stim and +1 weapons.
Already prepared, Jazz finds himself sniping off the Banshee with nicely placed turrets. Once again, the macro fest begins with Jemsk taking his 3rd musch earlier than Jazz, with the CC being half-built at 9:36. With Stim done and Medivacs out on the map, Jazz decides to go for a drop in the main base of Jemsk, but it was thwarted by Vikings that were already in the main base in case Jazz wanted to go for Banshees. Jazz manages to save a Tank before letting the Medivac die.
Jemsk has already finished the OC at his third but with no SCVs mining, while Jazz's 3rd has now landed at the gold base, with SCVs mining from it. More units come out from both players, but Jazz has an absolute upgrade advantage, as he is researching +2/+2 while his opponent has only just started +1/+1. With the upgrades done for Jazz, he decides that it is time to move out and siege up at the 3rd of his opponent.
With not enough Marines he finds himself in a very awkward position and thus decides to fall back. Both players now meet in the middle of the map with Jazz having the superior tank count and Jemsk having the superior Marine count. However, Jazz quickly sieges up, and Jemsk tries to use his marines to kill the tanks, but it is just not enough. Jazz takes a comfortable supply lead of 156 to 104 now, and after being near maxed, he decides to push out to the natural of his opponent.
Once again, Jazz sieges up just in time when Jemsk wants to catch his opponent off-guard, but the tanks just prove to be too much for Jemsk's marines. Supplies are now twice for Jazz, so Jemsk decides to move his army around Jazz, maybe in an attempt for a base thread. However, Jazz noticed it and forces Jemsk to siege up in a very awkward position. With the greater bio and tank count, Jemsk's army is wiped to nothing, making him to tap out with the "gg wp". 1-1!

Both players decide to open up the same way as the previous game, but this time, Jazz's reaper missed the scouting SCV (forgot to attack) and moved straight into Jemsk's base. He sees the building Factory and would then assume that it is the same opening from Jemsk. This time, instead of opening up with a Tank, Jemsk decides to make a Widow Mine. Jazz, on the other hand, decides to make 1 more reaper later on. After getting 2 worker kills, the nicely placed Widow Mine manages to drive Jazz out of Jemsk's base.
Once again, the Banshee does nothing for Jemsk again, but this time, it was taken out by a squad of marines and a scan. However, while the Banshee was harassing the natural, Jemsk has dropped a Tank and 4 Marines in the mineral line of Jazz. Jazz easily cleans it up with Marines and SCVs. Jemsk would continue to be very aggressive with drops, constantly dropping in the main base of Jazz, trying to find a breakthrough of some sort. 1 Tank and 4 Marines after, Jazz finds himself clearning up the drop once again. Behind all these, both players are still making Tanks and Marines.
At 15:22, both players have +1/+1, but Jemsk has only just started research Stim while Jazz has already finished. +2 weapon starts slightly earlier for Jazz, and later on, +2 armor. Feeling like he has a big enough army (5 Tanks, 53 Marines, 2 Medivacs, 2 Vikings), Jemsk decides to push out. Jazz has already destroyed the rocks just outside his 3rd, so Jemsk has to re-route and hit the 3rd from the left side of the map. Knowing that his opponent is moving into position, Jazz sieges pre-emptively to prevent Jemsk from being in a good position. Both players have a very long staring competition outside the 3rd of Jazz, and then Jemsk decides to retreat.
After a whlie of moving, both players now meet again at the left-middle of the map, with the rocks still not destroyed. Jazz decides to destroy the rocks and ask Jemsk was advancing with his Marines, Jazz sieges up. As Jemsk was stimming his marines and trying to snipe off the tanks, it was slightly too late as Jazz started to get free shots at the marines, whittling the army count of Jemsk to 86 as compared to Jazz's 136. Now that Jazz smells blood, he decides to chase the army of Jemsk down, advancing aggressively with Tanks and his Bio force. After taking out all the tanks of Jemsk, Jemsk is now left in a very hard position to recover from. As Jazz marches into the natural of Jemsk, Jemsk taps out with the "gg!". 1-0 to SEA Serpents, with 2 more matches to be played!
We now move on to a PvZ series, with both sides featuring their Diamond players. McLovin goes for a 3 hatch before pool build, while Enak goes for Nexus first, into Forge-Gateway. Enak, now having scouted the 3rd base of Mclovin, decides to go for a fast +1 attack while adding 3 more gates, while McLovin transits from 1 gas to 4 gases. Enak's proxy pylon is now placed just outside McLovin's base, and he constantly warps in Zealots to harass the 3rd. However, McLovin is already prepared with 3 Spine Crawlers, with many more Lings in the making.
Enak transits into a DT shrine from there, while McLovin decides to go for Spire tech. Upon scouting the Spire, Enak proceeds to make 2 Stargates, and it looks like both players are gonna battle it out in the sky. Now, with no spores out for McLovin, Enak warps in a few DTs and moves them to all 3 bases of McLovin. With this move, Enak has managed to kill a whopping amount of 45 drones! McLovin now has 14 Mutas while Enak already has 5 Phoenixes. McLovin is desperately trying to drone back up now, while Enak is getting his Fleet Beacon.
+1 range and armour starts for McLovin, and so does a Hydra den. More Phoenixes and Zealots begin to come out for Enak, while McLovin is trying to get out a Roach Hydra army. McLovin then decides to get an Infestation Pit. while Enak is now producing Carriers already. While McLovin is still at 3 bases at this point, Enak is already getting his 4th. Storm is now being researched for Enak. McLovin decides that it is now time for him to be more active with his Mutas, and now flies and discovers Enak's 4th. While trying to deny the 4th, he ended up being caught by Enak's Phoenixes and loses all of them. McLovin is now maxed on 38 Hydras and 23 Roaches, while Enak has 15 Zealots, 2 Carriers and 20 Phoenixes.
McLovin now moves out to the 3rd of Enak, and pushes into the mineral line. While the Hydras are busy killing the 2 Carriers, Enak's Phoenix control helped him to wipe out all of the Hydras, while another Carrier popped out to take care of the remaining Roaches. With 2 more Colossus and DTs, Enak holds his base and can now be on the offence, Upgrades are similar up to this point. With not too much resources, McLovin tries to make more Hydras and Roaches, while trying to set up his 4th which is extremely close to Enak's 3rd. Enak plays the patient game and once he is maxed out on Carriers, Colossus and Archons he decides to push out and in turn wipe out the lower-tiered army of McLovin after getting a Mothership. With the sheer power of Protoss and Storms, Enak manages to take Game 1 for SEA Serpents!

McLovin decides to open with the 14 pool now, while Enak goes for a gateway opening. As Enak throws down his Nexus, he spots the Lings. Without making an initial Zealot, he's only left with his Mothership Core to defend. Meanwhile, McLovin is also getting a Hatchery. However, after the Mothership Core cleared up the Lings, McLovin tapped out after saying "ughhhhhh i can't even cheese properly anymore, gg". Cheer up buddy, more #dedication more #skill! 2-0 in both map score and match score for SEA Serpents and although SEA Serpents has already won the war, we move on to the 3rd game to get the overall score.
Because both players lost their replays, I can't really do anything about it but to ask again, do you wanna build a snowman? \/
But oh, ProzeR ended up winning 2-0, which brings SEA Serpents to a 3-0 against ToR!
With those games, I hereby announce that SEA Serpents are looking for clans who wish to challenge us to a friendly clan war! Once again I emphasise, we're not a clan! I'm still ToR, those mGG dudes are still in mGG etc etc. We're just a group of people bunched together for some reasons, and then just practice together. Of course we aim to go somewhere someday but at the moment I think not.
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

Game 1:
If I remember correctly, it was at Yeonsu and nick did some 3gate robo early-rush pressure while I went for usual safe 2 gate quick sentries build? I held and eventually went to macro game… I guess around 20 mins or so? I went ahead to attack with immortal-archon (not sure if had colossi) and whatever other units I had with some +2 and charge. There was a point in the game where nick had scouted my 4th already building so early, only a few mins after my 3rd was up and running, and said, "LOL" "Mining out the map" Apparently broke the defence of Nick ~ gg!
Game 2:
I'm positive it was at Heavy Rain and pretty sure Nick did the same opener of 3gate robo and I did the same to counter. Unlike the Game 1, this game ended relatively early at around 9mins. Nick had overcommitted too much units and lost to my own 2gate into 3gate robo hold gg!
Were some great games in all the matchups and really enjoyed Would be interested with playing against other clans too! hehe
