Hi, allot of people are saying a large amount of things and large amount of it is not true.
This is damaging to members of the community and those looking to join it so I wanted to clear up some things.
Firstly people have said that I have said Soul isnt a nice person/bm etc but this is not the case. I have met and talked to soul both on skype and at lan when i vs'd him and chatting to him was very pleasant.
Now the reason I am leaving is not just one thing. It is a compliment of multiple issues both RL and community wise.
Currently I am allot older than most gamers in the sc2sea scene. I am 26. As a result of this my time commitments arent as easily thrown around to do the things I want as say someone at uni or high school would have. I am working 2 jobs and saving a ton to get a house. I work a 7:30am - 5pm job as a Motor Mechanic and it is a hard laboursome job that also takes a large amount of verbal abuse from both customers and co workers. I am also doing leaflet deliveries during the week for money on various days. It is known that the motor industry is not one for the kind hearted and is very stressful. I work with many shady people (hinting at bikies and drug dealers) and as a result there is a large amount of harassment and abuse of many kinds at my work.
After work with the 2-3 hrs I get spare after cleaning the house and organizing dinner and looking after my grandmother who has had repeated heart attacks recently. I like to try and spend playing or watching sc2 but when the time comes to play tournaments and your opponents/community/chat is full of bm players, rude players, or players that dont care how they speak to you it becomes very tiresome and turns the game into a chore. It is something I get at work and every other moment so to spend my free time to play something that I enjoy and get the same issue becomes very much overwhelming and have gotten to a point where I am sick of being put into this position. Life becomes a chore full time.
This issue is not good for the scene. It prevents players from joining the scene and the scene growing.
I just hope people realize this before the scene is gone for good.
I have not left sc2 I have just left the sc2sea scene.
---- Why I left SYF ----
Because of the above that has been going on I have chosen not to participate in the sc2sea scene/tournaments. I therefore have chosen to remove myself from the SYF team. Insano gave me the choice to stay or leave but in the end I have chosen to leave. I would like to also take this opportunity to thank the SYF GAMING staff and members. All of which have been very welcoming and supportive of my progression in this game. I am sorry to depart!

Cheers mate, It's always a pleasure chatting to ya
It's a shame that you felt that way about all the assholes/bm shitheads (i'm included.. i could blame stress, but that's a cop out)
And I hope many people (including myself) re-evaluates their approach towards other people in the community lest we lose more friendly faces.
I hope your IRL situation looks up soon, it's hard caring for family AND working (especially 2 jobs)
I hope you find some time/feel like coming to the next Adelaide LAN mate, if not to play... atleast come watch and let me buy you that beer as promised.
does that really happen? How are people rude to you in tournament games? Because tone is hard on the internet, that was a genuine question out of curiosity, nothing malicious.
I find it hard to imagine regular sc2sea community members being bm in tournaments. Sure random folk on ladder. Sorry if you felt that way.
I'm actually older than you, and have a similar work load, so know how hard it is to play/keep up any sort of practice with what little free time there is.
Tak care... your real life commitments sounds like a real handful. Do take care of your health and personal well being as well.
I have accepted that there are many different types of people around and sometimes what we may think is offensive speaking is actually just cultural or normal speaking for them. Most players do not intentionally bm especially in a tournament setting. Frustrations due to ladder or game losses are fairly common. If I find it truly offensive (like they will continue to pm despite ignoring them), I just use the block button. I use to be very affected by all this but have since to learn to cope with them. Having said that I think most sc2sea regular tournament players arent really in this category? Or at least they dont mean it sometimes?
Regardless, I do wish you all the best and remember to take care.

Again, sad to see you going on these circumstances. I hope things start looking up for you
It seems you were improving a fair bit recently, so hopefully you can still make those ladder goals!

All the best (hopefully see you in LOTV)
Really? Perhaps it just isn't reported, or there is no clear ruling against it. But I completely agree with tSu we should have rulings in place for players that are BM.
TBH, one of the first SEA tourneys I did i got some BM coz I didn't leave immediately, was trying to get one last baneling hit... I was almost turned off from the scene.
In general laddering is full of BM and negative people. And reddit of course. Usually tho LANs people are pleasant... the worst is the rage quit no gg... that's about it (from last saturday's DC LAN i joined).
And as for age, shoot I'm way older than u, but I love the game and I still play. My goal is to break Masters in KR... it's hard to balance work, family, kids.. other hobbies... but SC2 always finds a way to eat my time.
Hope you come back tho, sometimes a break is good. I find it hard to believe that SC2SEA is that negative... despite the BM to new people when I was one of those. I think SC2SEA is fantastic, full of passionate players... it's like a little clique at first but other than that once u break in, it's pretty decent with real cool leaders like Eddie, Elusory, Nemesis, NXZ, Soundwave, Philosopher, etc.
I never got to play you at full power. Sounds like you need some relaxation time and sc2 tends to be anything but that. Best of luck with your personal situation.
