I just bought a Filco Majestouch Keyboard with Cherry MX blue switches (just imagine razer blackwidow, but better) because I dig mechanical keyboards, didn't buy it for gaming, but once you've used a mechanical keyboard, you will never want to use any others again. Strongly recommend to all old school keyboard purists who miss the IBM clicky keyboards who are built to last many many years and never become sticky or easily fail.
I'm still using a Razer Diamondback Limited Edition Plasma Blue mouse from like ages ago.
I also have the Steelseries 5VH/2 headset, I bought for leading WOW raids and Guild Wars guild battles, now used to shoutcast The mic sucks though, heh.
and oh, i'm using the old razer exactmat, the metallic mousepad cos i can put cold drinks on it too and i use the speed surface. lawl.

omg I was just thinking about makeing a thread like this lol
Using a steelseries 6gV2, mechanical keyboard. It has the cherry mx black switches which require more force to press down, so I'm thinking about getting a filco keyboard with different switches instead, but then again I've gotten use to this one, so probably not going to happen haha
Still using a relatively old razer krait with steelseries qck+ mousepad. Razer megalodon headset.
dude, you should totally try a filco, i asked the guy at tecdrome in simlim if he'd pay 50 bucks more for a filco compared to the cool looking razer, he said yes. and honestly, some people say cherry MX blacks are better for gaming, but blues are just fine
for everyday use, its a tossup between blue and brown, blue noisier, so if you're living alone or have the room to yourself, pamper yourself and go cherry MX blue, where the trigger point is personally, at the sweet spot, tactile keys are much much MUCH better than linear keys, i've tried both, and razer's blackwidow feels totally different from the filco's cherry mx blue. the shopkeeper said its some bastardized version, you can try both keybaords, but filcos go really fast. and they only have very few pieces in singapore, so move quick

The switches are mostly up to preference. I've gotten quite used to having to use more force on this keyboard and because I've only recently bought it, I'm not so keen on splurging more money on another keyboard when I can only use one lol
I'm really tempted to get a filco regardless because I like the look haha
Where did you buy yours? I so far have only checked out funan and only found boards with black switches as the others were out of stock >.<
And how much did it cost you?
EDIT: For those looking to get a mechanical keyboard, yet are not quite willing to pay the high price of a filco or smiliar brand: Razer seems to be offering the cheapest mechanical board on the market, the blackwidow. Doesn't seem as crappy as most people expected apparently, review on tl.net http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=158928

@nirvAnA personally i'd want the mamba, heh
but for the general gamer, i think the blackwidow would be awesome, its not the best mechanical keyboard out there but still its mechanical nonetheless, somesay its a bastardized version of the cherry mx blue switch, but hmm, its still higher quality than the rubber dome cap keyboards and i hope it lasts much much longer.
@DFM i bought my keyboard from tecdrome in simlim, level 5. they had very few pieces of it left, it cost me ~190. yes, insane to pay for a keyboard but i think its frigging worth it, but then that's me.

@nirvana
Blackwidow would be nice, no need for the ultimate version though XP
I think the abyssus would be quite nice for rts, simple and not too big size, although that is up to preference. Other than that i guess mousepads? lol haven't used razer mousepads before though can't comment on the quality
Mouse wise - i am planning to get the Razer spectre mouse.
Keyboard - You will NOT go wrong with a Filco Keyboard. I got the Majestouch Tenkeyless Tactile Click (Blue Cherry MX switches) recently..and honestly speaking one of the best purchases i ever made to enhance my gaming/computing experience.
mmm id love to try 1 of those filco keyboards, apparently steelseries 7g is similar with the keys, and i absolutely love it but i am soooo tempted to just buy a filco
the 7g series are cherry mx "black" switches, as in they are 'linear' in force without a sudden 'give' when you press them so you won't hear where the actuation of the key begins, but generally its around 1/2 of the depth of the keypress ~2mm. mx blacks are reportedly the best for increasing effective apm. apparently, which won't be apparent at non-pro-gamer level
the MX blues give you a tactile feel when they trigger, along with an audible click
the MX browns give you a tactile feel but are much softer and don't give you an audible click.
so filco has all of these configs, if you like the steelseries 7g, go for a filco with a black switch. just go get one man, you won't regret it, its superbly good.

I really need a new keyboard :\ I got the one I'm using now for less than $20 NZD and after what I've read about mechanical keyboards, I really want one
I had a look about ordering from their website but I don't think I can afford paying $54 USD shipping on top of the actual keyboard price :[ !
Edit: Lol nvm I should've read yoor earilier post on the 2nd page :P

I picked up my filco at this shop called TecDrome in Sim Lim Square, that's in Singapore, where I live I get most of my stuff from there because the guy who owns the shop is this old dude who's wayyy cool and knocks a couple of dollars off for me everytime he sees me.
Assuming you're residing in NZ, not too sure where you can pick one up, try your local computer/tech heavy areas/districts, you gotta go look in the specialist shops. Your regular shops aren't gonna carry Filcos.

I GOT AN AWESOME FILCO CHERRY BLUE KEYBOARD AND ITS MY BABY!!!!! Heartshape-heartshape-heartshape!!!
Its also very very loud =/ Or your mic is to close or something heh. Wheneer yo uwere tpying could hear people speak. And whilst the sound of someone typing is extremly interesting and soothing im going to have to say that the whole idea behind a shoutcast is to hear people speak.
So obviously for next cast you just need ot make sure the others output is turned up so we can have the best of both worlds, typing and speaking.
To be honest though is it really that loud or did it just sound loud on mic? Was a little off putting =/

Kelly just has to stop hammering the key so hard xD
Hey guys! Excuse me if the topic already exists somewhere, but I know we all have a little curiosity on what everybody uses to play their games :]
Monitors: BenQ E2400HD + ASUS VW222 (both horrid monitors dont get them)
Keyboard: Razer BlackWidow (standard edition, decent for its price)
Mouse: Razer Krait for SC2, Razer Deathadder for FPS
Mousepad: ZOWiE GR-F (best pad I've ever used, incl QCK+)
Sound: Sennheiser HD 555 (excellent headphones, but not worth the price)
So, what does everybody else use? Do you like your current setup? If you would upgrade, what to?
Personally, I want new monitors. These ones I got when they were first released so they are horrible. I've learned my lesson :P
EDIT: Thanks for merge

Reason: Typo
Razer Deathadder - love this little guy, I used to have a G9 Logitech and it was a bit too big for my hands. The deathadder feels just right, and glides really well (though I bought a good quality mousepad too, so that helps). Some of the first batches made were dodgy as all hell, but the production runs these days are great quality!
Razer Blackwidow - my first mechanical keyboard, so I can't compare it against the others....but I would NEVER go back to a standard keyboard after having one.
Sennheiser HD 515 - I wish I could have found the 555s, but these babies are comfortable to wear 24 hours a day and have great sound quality (but you NEED a soundcard, because onboard sound has vibrations that higher quality headphones will pick up and make your ears hurt...not to mention the improved sound quality!)
Xalman Clip-On Mic - $8 + postage for a crystal clear quality mic that clips onto your headphone cord, great for people who buy music headphones instead of wasting money on 'gaming' headsets!
Very happy with my gear, but when this keyboard starts to die I'll shop around the different brands I think.
roccat pyra is by far the best mouse i've ever tried for sc2 after my microsoft intelli explorer died, im still using microsoft comfort curve 2000 keyboard though lol
I used to use a razer krait too! But one of the buttons spoilt after my 1 year stint in WoW haha spamclicking on grids too much (was a healer)
Currently using a razer deathadder! which was a birthday present on my 21st It's kinda fat though, and took a while to get used to (as compared to the krait, which is quite narrow so easier to grip)
I'm considering a mechanical keyboard now, just to satisfy the inner nerd in me (lol) and use a 'cool' keyboard. But trying to fight the urge because I'm not exactly rolling in the money
EDIT: Wow just saw this:

g9x ftw If you have big man-hands then this mouse is the bomb!
Still waiting on the finals for the usyd starsoc tourney to get organised so i can win a Filco Majesitouch mechanical keyboard (Fruitdealer's!), assuming I win of course :P

Benji, you should write a review. Few people actually get to compare so much and in such depth.
I myself have:
Razer Deathadder mouse (was cheap)
Marauder keyboard (I play in the dark and this is one of the best backlit keyboards (plus deep down I like the gimmicky APM lighting)
Logitech 6930 headset (best value wireless gaming headset IMHO)
I got the keyboard and headset really cheaply from Australian eBay powersellers if anyone is interested in getting a recommendation.
Awesome thread HuT. im so excited to share because one way I spoil myself is with computer periphs or extra copies of sc 2 ^^
Keyboard : Filco Majestouch Cherry Blue swtiches (ordered brown but he had blue on display when i picked up and zomg i had to change my order)
Mouse : Logitech MX518
Headset : Razer Banshee
Pad : Razer Goliathus
Keyboard: Standard microsoft at the moment but my Razer Marauder will be arriving soon
Mouse: Razer Naga Molten (I have the Razer Spectre too but it was horrible... Very high sensitivity but I don't play with a claw grip and the amount of pressure required to click the damn button gets bloody annoying. )
Mousepad: Razer Goliathus control
Keyboard: Cheap dell keyboard - soon to be a mech keyboard, just being too indecisive bout what to get.
Mouse: Razer deathadder
Headphones: Sennheiser eh1430. Not the best sennheisers, but the only headphones I can wear for long stretches because my ears hurt easily.
Mousepad: plain old empty space on my desk
for all the people that want to get a mechanical keyboard try out steelseries 6gv2/7g and Filco keyboards, dont be swayed by the glossy/shiny blackwidow! those keyboards are meant to last for a long time, the glossyness/shinyness gets old and dirty quick! while simplistic looking keyboards like the ss/filco ones will keep staying looking awesome!
dude, you should totally try a filco, i asked the guy at tecdrome in simlim if he'd pay 50 bucks more for a filco compared to the cool looking razer, he said yes. and honestly, some people say cherry MX blacks are better for gaming, but blues are just fine
I'm using a Tt eSPORTS MEKA G1 atm. I disliked the Cherry Blue switches as they wer very click-clacky and annoying.
The MEKA G1's keys made more of a soft 'thud' and you still get the awesome feel.
I always said I wouldnt replace my old trusty G15 until it died, but I tried out the MEKA G1 and I fell in love .
I use a Razer Tarauntula keyboard, a Microsoft Intelli Explorer 3.0 Mouse and a Razer Goliath speed version mousepad and a razer carachias head set.
The microsoft intelli mouse is by far the best quality and comfortable mouse that I have ever used. And it is cheaper than all your fancy G5's etc.
As for the keyboard I really wasted money on the razer, I don't use it to it's full potential and the rubber pads that stop it sliding detached very early after buying it.
The mouse pad is awesome, it's huge which is great as you never risk sliding off, only thing is after months of use the edges start peeling up. It would be good if they could put a seal on the edge to prevent this from happening.
The headset is a bit average, sound quality is what you'd expect from a $100 gaming headset. For my head it falls off a lot haha, so yea for me not so great, but at the moment I don't have enough cash to buy a new set.
I've used a LOT of mousepads, func 1080, Steelpad S&S, Some oldschool razer, steelpad Qck and a steelpad 5l.
Obviously it's personal preference but I still swear by the steelpad 5l. If you get the chance to try/buy then i highly reccomend! They are/were expensive. I'm not sure if they are still being made or are out of stock(the website says unavailable).
Among the top branded mechanical keyboards i don't feel like there is too much difference. I have a 6gv2 and i've tried 2 other leopolds. Basically it's just switch preference imo.
Mouse: Logi G9x gripless woot
mousepad: currently using wacom bamboo as a mousepad :/ its pretty much like floating on air, but usually mantis control
keyboard: sidewinder x6 but looking at that majestouch ninja tenkeyless browns - awesome
mic: zalman clipon stickytaped onto a cheap mic with a bendy neck with foam stickytaped onto the mic to stop pops
Headphones: Audio Technica ATH-AD900
Keyboard : FILCO CHERRY BLUE.. i love the clicks.. :P
Mouse: Razer Deathadder
Mousepad: Razer goliathus control edition.
No headset. but i do use my ajays-4 earphones sometimes..
Using a Razer Blackwidow, Razer Mamba and a steelseries tychus findlay mouse mat as I ruined my exactmat
Switch between my Plantronics 777 when im using ventrilo and Sony MDR-xb300 (for when im playing music as well).
Also, this is my 2nd mamba (warranty swapped first one due to tracking problems) and this one has a nasty squeak in mouse button 1. So not sure if I would recommend it unless you really need a wireless gaming mouse.
Mouse: Razer DeathAdder - Superb mouse, I highly recommended it for anyone looking for a new mouse
Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewinder x6 - An okay keyboard, still feels pretty solid after nearly a year of use.
Mousepad: Razer Sphex - I'm looking for a new one, any ideas?
Mouse: Razer Deathadder. (Had, g9x, g5, intellimouse 3.0)
Keyboard: Filco Cherry Brown (Had, G15, x4, lycosa and some cheap logitech one)
Mousepad: Razer Goliathus Control Edition (Had, Razer Destructor)
Headphones: Sennheiser HD555 (Might be saving up for HD 650)
Soundcard: Asus Xonar STX (Might be saving up for a good quality amp)

I feel like the only using a laptop for gaming lol
But that said:
Mouse: Razer Deathadder
Headset: Razer Banshee, coz the LED's light the joint up in lan's
Headset: Steelseries Siberia v2
Keyboard: Random microsoft one
Mouse: I had a Razer Diamondback for ages but i used it so much the cord started to break. Also all the grip was worn off and there was finger goop from my excessive clicking so I decided to retire it.

for keyboard, you'll want one with blue or brown switches. The only reason people choose black is because: their sponsor gives them free ones or they are fps players...
Zowie MiCO looks like awesome moue atm, although 800DPI is the only decent sensitivity with it...
Razer mantis speed is a high-friction mousepad...bad for high sens - i use the plastic off a piece of plastic i cut off - works better than goliathus speed, mantis control and costs like 10c...
dont get ttesport earbuds...get at least sennheiser cx300 if you're cheap, or vsonic r02-pros or ultimate ears super.fi 3's if you've got a bit more cash
Mouse: Razer Death Adder
Mouse Pad: Large plain black steel series
Keyboard: Filco majestouch cherry brown keys arrives tomorrow, currently using just a standard wireless logitech keyboard though
I just got my Filco Majestouch (original) Tenkeyless with Blue switches.
There is no way in hell I'm returning to any other keyboard ever again. This one is sooo good ^_^

Razer Death Adder
- Previously had a Lachesis and MX518.. With the Lachesis, it broke both times including the replacement and I promised myself never to buy razer again (lol) and got the Logitech.
No problems with the Logitech but I got blisters from long hours of gaming because of its shape haha.
Razer Goliathus
- No complaints, Good mouse mat
Razer Blackwidow
- Previously had a G510, was a REALLY nice keyboard, but the feel of a mechanical keyboard was just too much and I couldn't resist changing to the BW, although I do miss the customizable back lit colours and little LCD screen which could be used for alot of things.
And my parents miss the quiet THUD rather than the extremely loud clicking at night when I'm gaming late hahaha
Razer Banshee's
- Good headphones overall but of course my luck with razer means that I have alot of stupid issues with the sound. EVERY time i turn my computer on there is alot of static which leads to the sound completely dying. I have unplug and replug the USB in around 7 times minimum before they will work.. But when they do they are fine lol. And really quite comfy for long use (after the cushioning softens up and molds to your head.)
i5 2500, 4gb ram, 60gb ssd (when it works for more than a 2 week period before it dies :| ), ati 6950 2gb, microsoft x8 mouse and x4 (i think) keyboard. no amount of gear can cal my nerves though
logitech g5 mouse , razor black widow ultimate keyboard, steel series sc2 mouse pad , Audio technica ATH-AD700 headphones on my main set up , and logitech mx 5500 wireless keyboard / mouse combo with logitech z-5500d 5.1 speakers on the pc connected to the tv.

Well I just added to go with my SS 7G keyboard a R.A.T 7 (best mouse imo but i have an odd grip when i use the mouse so none of the razers feel comfy)
SS mousepad (really noticable difference in feel)
and a pair of real surround sound head phones (roccat kave 5.1 - not bad but not good. certainly the best you'll get for under $200 - cost me $110)
i've used turtle beach x11s (what i use currently) and the siberia steelseries, both around 50 bucks and great headsets. there is definitely some stuff higher up that i'm sure these can't hold a candle to, but for the price- they are unmatched.
Razer Deathadder (mostly good, scroll wheel is a little dodgy)
Razer Lycosa (some keys are finicky :\ )
Crappy $5 mic
While Razer seemed appealing when I got my new computer the poor build quality is starting to show and all these lights are really annoying.
I'm thinking of upgrading to a mech keyboard, one of the Filco Majestouch models. Can anyone give me their opinion? Still tossing up between brown and blue switches.
I was running on the Razer Marauder + Spectre + Bashee.
Now I'm running on the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate + Deathadder + Megalodon.
I've never used a mechanical keyboard before, and there really is nothing like it. Every other keyboard, including the one I'm typing on right now at work feels terrible compared to it.
Playing on a laptop (in the bronze league) with a razer deathadder and a steelseries mouse. Wanting to get a bigger mousepad and the razer blackwidow but first i need a new comp asap.

I use a laptop as well, i recommend the Mionix Propus 380 Gaming Mouse Pad, it's a hardpad it's a very good quality pad and reasonably cheap.
Razer Blackwidow(not ultimate) and Razer Lachesis, mousepad is a speedstack mat laid out on the table. Blackwidow was because I really wanted a mechanical keyboard because I feel like I should invest in one. The Lachesis was my friend's, and he gave it to me since he doesn't use it.
i use a wired mouse(more responsive) wired keyboard to make gaming more experianced because with a wireless mouse u need to pay for batteries but with wired mouse tour signal on the mouse does not drop out nor keyboard i have had some ladder games where my key board and mouse had dropped out = so many loses.
I use a Zowie Celeritas and a Zowie EC2 mouse. Keyboard is great, but I'm not satisfied with the mouse because it is jumpy on a cloth mat. Anyone have a suggestion for a mouse that does well on a cloth mat and is a little smaller than a Deathadder?

That's not necessarily true. I have a Logitech MX Revolution mouse and it comes with it's own charger, so it never needs to have batteries replaced or anything of that sort.
That being said I also have a Razer Goliathus (Control surface) mouse pad, Logitech G15 Keyboard and a Razer Megalodon headset. Planning on getting a BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth edition keyboard. (If the backlog clears in time) Tied between sticking with my current mouse and getting a new one. My current one doesn't allow for middle-mouse button clicking (That function got replaced with two different scroll speeds, which can be incredibly handy) and it occasionally cuts out. That being said, it's incredibly comfortable.
Razor Lachesis mouse - had to disable the side buttons cos my thumb kept accidentally clicking them during SC2 and that would freeze the game on my end a little. otherwise a great mouse that works well for me.
Razor Arctosa keyboard - very nice keyboard, smooth buttons and very well responding. the little control panel in the top right is kinda useless though.
Razor Goliathus mousepad - wonderful mousepad. very responsive. should give it a clean though i spilt some coffee on it a while ago :P
yes there was a Razor bundle deal at the computer store that i go to.
Poor man's rig - Razer Arctosa keyboard (Black on black for extra difficulty =D ), Razer Salmosa mouse, gel wrist soft cloth mousepad. The Salmosa isn't too bad once you wear it in and get the squeaks out.
Razer Blackwidow - For the price, what you get is unbeatable compared to other mechanical keyboards out there. Cherry MX Blue switches with macro software and extra macro keys which require some creativity to use but useful nonetheless.
Razer Imperator - Kinda wish I got the Deathadder now as the shape is just perfect and seeing as you don't need all that DPI anyway. Also, when you click the left button too hard, say while you are under pressure, it actually lifts the mouse up from the bottom right side which messes with the tracking. Trying to select units like that is frustrating to say the least.
Steelseries Qck Mass - A nice comfy and quality pad but wonder if the ordinary Qck would have been better as pressing down on the mouse causes it to sink in to the pads thickness, causing the cursor to move a little. Rarely an issue but any unwanted cursor movement is always preferable.
Steelseries Siberia V2 - A good all round headset when I don't want to annoy my neighbors below. The bigger than average drivers sound great when playing loud and there is no distortion.
Had pretty much the same stuff for 5 years or so now, only recently changed keyboard from Logitech 250 to a K120. Both are obviously cheapish keyboards but get the job done. Logitech MX518 for mouse, big fan of it, with a Steelseries QcK mousemat.
Razer Lachesis Mouse
Razer Destructor Mousepad
SteelSeries Siberia V2 headset (got it for free )
Recently added Razer Lycosa Mirror into my arsenal of noobcake-ness :P
The Steelseries gear are pretty awesome. The only thing that I might consider changing would be getting the Kas Keyboard cause I like of the sound it better but that's about it. Steelseries make some awesome stuff.
Whats that keyboard like, was thinking of getting one :\
i really like it. when i first got it i found it a little annoying because some of the keys were in places i wasn't used to and i guess i didn't think it was any better than my last one (Logitech g15) but then after a week i found that i was typing a lot better/faster and actually even playing better although i don't want to say it will make you play better because that doesn't really make sense but yea it has a really nice feel to it and i like how simple the design is and i don't think I'll ever go back to using a non mechanical keyboard after this.

G19's ugh and so are the g9 mouses and the g510 series keyboards. Personally can't stand razor keyboards or mice, they aren't as comfortable in my hand/s as the logitech ones. Never tried steelseries though

Currently I have a Ducky DK9008 with Cherry Blues that I bought in April, but before then I was using a Qsenn DT-35.
And I currently use a Razer Abyssus and I still have my old Razer Mamba for backup, but that was from when I was mainly playing FPS and I prefer the Abyssus for Starcraft.
razer orca and alienware mouse + keyboard, i want to keep the mouse forever because its so amazing to use however i havent tried many other mice, keyboard isnt mechanical and i would like to get a mechanical one if i get gm at some point. headphones are comfortable and were pretty cheap plus they look cool. no mousepad, will probably get one at some point in life.
Im using the Steel series 6Gv2 also but im kinda regretting it. Although the keys can be ''registed'' with just a small tab, im someone who prefer to smash the key and let it ''rebound'' back. My fingers actually gets tired after p[laying on the 6gv2 for a few hours.
Still using my Razor Abyssus mouse(Like the first ones that ever came out), i got so used to it i just bought a new one when the old one broke down.
Anyone recommend a mouse pad that is durable? Im burning those 3 bucks a pop ones like once every 2-3 weeks(Dont ask me why)
Dont buuy the razer mechanical it lacks some basic internal circuitury that is found in all other mechanical keyboaards as a result it only supports 2n k role over

I can vouch for the qck+ , just replaced my razer mantis speed i've had for over 3 years. There was nothing wrong with the mantis either but I gave it to my mate.

My u key had the little plastic bit that attaches it to the switches break, so I was having trouble bunker rushing the zerg players I was meeting on ladder... Depressed at my inability to crush the souls of swarm loving sc2 players, I took a leaf out of the book of one of the best proponents of this strategy, the MarineKing, and purchased a set of white keycaps to go on my Steelseries 6GV2...
I just wish that I could have gotten a set with the correct enter key, it would look much better with that one being white too
I just bought a Steelseries 6g v2 keyboard, it hasn't gotten here yet but I'm really excited for it. I've been interested in getting a mech keyboard for over a year and I had my eyes on a Filco keyboard but they are just too expensive and unavailable here so I decided on a cheaper option, in a year or so I'll probably look at picking up a Filco keyboard. (Current keyboard is a Razer Lycosa, I hate it.)
My mouse is getting a bit old, it's a Logitech MX, not really made for gaming but it has served me well, I'm gonna be getting a Steelseries Sensei pretty soon I think. My mousepad is Razer.
At the moment just a Razer Deathadder and Goliathus Control Edition, though I'm thinking of getting a pair of Razer Chimaeras (so I can use them with my 360 as well) and a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth when I get the money.

RazerDeath Adder V2 - I use the two side buttons as '0' and '9' and the middle button as '8'. Excellent mouse imo and completely mac compatible.
I currently use the wired mac keyboard but I am planning on getting a Das Keyboard Stealth as they just upgraded their mac compatibitlity and have custom keys available. I have heard they are rocking keyboards.
I use a QCK Mass mousepad by Steelseries and it is by far the best mousepad I have ever used.
Seinheieser headphones (gaming editions) excellent sound quality but not noise cancelling and are not the comfiest. By gf has the steelseires siberia and they are quite good but a bit flimsy.
Tip for mac users: Switch Command and ctrl in the options menu. It feels sooo much better. ^^

probably the best keyboard there is for rts. f keys are DIRECTLY ABOVE THE NUMBER KEYS! it's so bloody important to have this on a keyboard. it's extremely rare to have the f key placement like this. the only other keyboard i know of which has similar f key placement is an old IBM keyboard but sadly they no longer make them anymore. highly recommend people to buy this! i've had a few keyboards in the past and this is the best.
let me know if you're interested and I can link you to a website that also has free shipping and blue caps.
I use a Razer Naga (very handy for pretty much any game), Razer Blackwidow (non-backlit version), Collectors edition wow mouse pad and a average set of plantronic's headset.
Keyboard: Some A4tech keyboard (saving up to get a meka g1)
Mouse: Razer Deathadder ( was supposed to get a Ttesports Black Element friend got me the deathadder for christmas)
Mousepad: I use a generic one at the moment
Headset: None for now. I like using my speakers.
I already posted my gear earlier but as i was skimming through these posts i realised that the most popular products are from Razer and Steelseries, with the Filco branded tenkeyless keyboards being used by quite a number of gamers as well

Slowly Tt eSPORTS is creeping in :P
Updated gaming gear:
Mouse: White-Ra Saphira
MIC: Blue Snowball
PAD: White-Ra White Mouse Pad

Keyboard: Razer Black Widow (Standard)
Mouse: Razer Death Adder
Speakers: KRK Rokit 6" G2
Headset is a bit more complicated. I actually have a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones and a Rode NT-1 mic in front of me. It does the job nicely
I've been wanting to get some studio speakers and a lot of people have been recommending the KRK Rokit 6" to me, what's your thoughts on them?
They're probably the best studio monitors you can get by far for even close to their price range. I love them. Very accurate. I was surprised by how decent the bass reproduction is also. It doesn't boom or anything of course but is still very audible. You can always add a sub if you want though.
Keyboards: Leopold FC200R Tenkeyless MX Blues / Ducky DK9008 MX Blues / Qsenn DT-35 Black
Mice: Razer Abyssus (Desktop and RTS use) / Razer Mamba (from my FPS days)
Headset: Steelseries Siberia V2 Green
I use a DAS Keyboard, Razer death adder mouse, soundblaster tactic 3D alpha headset, and a large mousepad (more of a mouse mat) from some random no-name brand.

Flaunt, how loud is this keyboard? my favourite keyboard ever was a filco maje 2 with browns but i had to sell it because it was too loud for my room mates.
Im using a razer marauder at the moment and I love the small profile, if this keyboard wasnt very loud i might look at getting one.
mouse - razer abyssus (looking for something the same shape but better quality to replace, PM if any ideas)
keys - razer marauder (would prefer a quiet mech keyboard if they exist, PM if any ideas)
pad - razer golithis speed
headset - logitech g35 wired
mouse - razer abyssus (looking for something the same shape but better quality to replace, PM if any ideas)
keys - razer marauder (would prefer a quiet mech keyboard if they exist, PM if any ideas)
With the mouse I'd suggest either a Steelseries Sensei or just get a Razer Deathadder. Most mechanical keyboards will be rather loud, the quietest you can get are Brown switches I believe, which is what my Das Professional S has. There's a still an audible click though, but it's not Destiny level TIK TAK TAK TAK. Based on your other post it seems like Browns are too loud for you as well.
Headset: Beyerdynamic MMX2's, they don't look as beefy or flashy as many other 'gaming' headphones, but they have amazing sound quality. (http://headphones.com.au/psingle?productID=382)
Mouse: Razer Deathadder (Sedz, from my clan, gave it to me after I realised how terrible my Kinzu is)
Keyboard: Das Professional S
Pad: Steelseries
And for comparison here's an even older picture of my battlestation, when keeping my room neat was a disturbing afterthought.

Yeah most people have said pretty much that. Awesome, yeah been looking at getting a pair for awhile! Thanks!
I am currently using a Razor lycosa Keyboard.
a G9X mouse . (best mouse around )
Razer Sphex Mouse pad
And a brand new and shiny Steel series Siberia V2!

Totally feel you bro. I just purchased one yesterday. The standard 104 key setup Noppoo choc mx blue. Razer Abyssus mouse. Love the simple, lightweight design and it glides like a baby on my goliathus mousepad

Dude that thing is awesome! I want one soo bad. Time to save my pennies.
Mouse: Razer Deathadder
Keyboard: $10 Microsoft Board
Headphones: Alessandro MS-1
Mousepad: Steelseries QCK Mini (i think)
How good are those headphones? I've heard one or two decent things on the net, but never really spoken to anyone who owned a pair...
I absolutely love them. They sound amazing (most likely better than any headset targeted at gamers) and are EXTREMELY comfortable for long use. They're light, have comfy cloth pads and they're open so you don't get all sweaty. Being open means you don't get any isolation however, so if you live in a noisy household or using them for LAN specifically they wouldn't be great - Amazing for sitting on the computer all day however.
I do have one small gripe with them and that is that each ear cup can spin around on its axis endlessly, meaning the wires will take a lot of abuse if you're not careful. My left earphone has recently died because the wire got twisted (after 2 years of use however) but I'm going to open them up and replace the wire and all should be good.
I'll bring them along to next CH if you you're going.

That would be awesome. I've always enjoyed the feel of ones like my current Senns which fit completely over your ear. I would love to try something like the alessandro's, but I've been a bit nervous about how comfortable they are... don't want to fork out that kind of money if I have no if they'll be hurting my head after an hour or so
Honestly though I think the beauty of mech keyboards is in how different they feel from rubber domes. It's a much nicer feel and I feel repulsed when I go back to a regular rubber dome now.
I know he used to use a Qsenn DT-35 with a checker pattern, but I can't quite tell with this one. I guess it coule just be another Qsenn the profile does seem similar to my Qsenn.
im using a Razer blackwidow ultimate and Razer Deathadder, i have had the deathadder for 3 years and love it, only had the blackwidow for about 3 months, but im loving it, my first mechanical keyboard and so glad i bought it, + the backlighting is pretty
razer imperator, logitech g105, planning to get the Tt spiral (or whatever that is called), regular cheap mousepad, using beats right now
My choices above are rather cheap because I'm a student and I haven't really put a lot of money into gaming gear. The mouse costs about 750 HKD (around 125 AUD), the keyboard costed around 360HKD (60 AUD) and the Tt Spiral costs around 480 (80 AUD) - my currencies may be wrong because the last time I went to Australia was way back :P
anyways, i find my gear quite decent, the keyboard is not mechanical but has a really nice hard feel to it and has lighting, the mouse is a palm mouse, so it may be hard to get used to, but it has a nice texture and feel to it.
Just saying, why don't you guys go for Ducky over Filco? A lot of my friends say that a Filco is basically just like Ducky, but Filco is a lot more expensive.
thoughts - can't complain about mouse, does the job, although I feel a deathadder is more ergonomical, really liking the cherry reds ^ ^ and the build quality of the keyboard but tooooo many macro keys and annoying escape key, otherwise perfect.
Steelseries 6G V2 (bit stiff for me though, i might get a cherry brown or red, once i get a decent amount of income, but hey, stronger fingers )
Thermaltake Dasher Mini
Steelseries Kana White.
Steelseries Siberia Pink (iron lady)
Really want a Pink Filco Majestouch, so expensive though. x__x
Use a Leopold FC500R mechanical keyboard with cherry brown switches, Razer DeathAdder mouse, Steelseries 3HD mousepad and Steelseries Siberia V2 headset. Really happy with all my stuff, can't think of anything I'd want different at all!
Keyboard: Logitech G15 v2
Mouse: MX518 for desktop, G400 for laptop
Mouse pad : Razer Goliathus Speed
Headset: Shure 440 + Random $2 Dealextreme Mic (It's actually really good!)
I use the same mousepad for both my laptop and desktop, as I don't use both at the same time. I should probably think about getting a somewhat smaller one though so that I can take it out to LANs and such.

Wow I wanted teh brown switches for the leopold can't really find them
+Razer Black Widow keyboard
+Cooler Master Sentinal Advance Mouse (really decent, although some minot issues with paint flecking after heavy use for 1.5years)
+Razer Megalodon Headset
+And a Starcraft 2 Steelseries mouse-pad signed by Kaeo (Dev. for sc2) (Won it as part of a prize for dressing up in a two person Ultralisk suit to the StarCraft 2 Brisbane launch).
Hey!
I'm using:
Razer Naga as mouse (though I don't use additional keybids on it )
Razer Carcharias as headset (huge fan of Razer )
Black MD Tech with Thai words :-)
Playing on my macbook pro (because it says pro)
Mouse: Razer abyssus
Keyboard: the keyboard in the macbook pro ._.
mousepad: some random mouse pad from sanreya that has a cool design and feels nice with nice size
Headset: either I use my skull candy hesh or I use apple earphones
Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow
Mouse: Razer Deathadder (pro edition)
Mouspad: Razer Goliathus ( control or speed depends how I'm feeling)
Headset: a set of $60 sennheisers epic value for money with headphones
Key Board: SteelSeries Merc Stealth Mouse: LogiTec G9x Headset: LogiTec G35 - "Wired" M - Pad: Razer Goliathus Control Edition
I have thought about upgrading to a Mech Switch Board but have never used one so don't know what the real hype about them are, and as I play a lot of FPS games as well, will a mechanical switch board make any difference...?
Keyboard: Tt Challenger Mouse: Spyker 2388-BL-BK USB Optical Mouse Headset: Generic SONY headset Mousepad: $2 Blue one from K-Mart (looks very similar to Liquid Hero's old one haha)
Through many years of trying new mice/keyboards and headsets i have come to use the following!!!
Keyboard: Filco Tenkeyless with cherry brown keys
Mouse: Logitech g9x (without the chunky shell)
Headphones: Brainwavz: M2 Canal phones (never had better noise cancelling from any headset)
Mousepad: Steel series hard plastic mousepad nfi the technical name / Func pad (rough surface)
Key Board: SteelSeries Merc Stealth Mouse: LogiTec G9x Headset: LogiTec G35 - "Wired" M - Pad: Razer Goliathus Control Edition

I made the switch recently and you really feel the difference typing and using one straight away. Have a look at what type of cherry switch you would prefer but generally they say that most FPS players prefer the black cherry. I myself have a brown cherry keyboard and i can say that i'm really happy with it.

what do you do for a mic?

20 dollar Logitech keyboard, and a Logitech gaming mouse I received for Christmas. Kinda want a nice keyboard but honestly never had any complaints with it.
Mouse: Razer Naga Epic (I think its called lol)
Keyboard: Keyboard I got with my computer, some type of cheap type one, want to get Blackwidow though
Mouse Pad: Cheap and nasty acer mousepad, waiting for my White-ra Special Tactics one I won in stream
Headset: Cheap LG headset that cost about 20 bucks, sound on it ok so no complaints.
Not really kitted for competitive play but meh.

Mouse: Razer Mamba
Mouse pad: Razer Goliathus
Headset: Shure SRH940 (mainly for music + audio mastering)
Keyboard: EON, F21-BL5M ($20)

Mousepad: A4 Graph Pad (that is right my mouse pad is my graph paper for maths)
Keyboard: Cheap Logitech wireless one
Mouse: Cheap Acer one that came with my old computer
Mousepad: sheet(s) of paper covered in scribbled build orders
Get good music headphones instead. In starcraft you wouldn't need 7.1 surround sound or anything. If you want a mic, I would suggest getting Steelseries Siberia v2.
Mouse : cheapo microsoft mouse, tried kinzu but didn't get used to it
Keyboard: Rosewill brown switch! Mech keyboards are really good. They say " once you go mech, you cant go back!"
Mouse: Razer Death Adder
Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate
Mousemat: Razer Megasoma/Goliathus (I might start using the Goliathus at home and megasoma at LANs - cause I gotta keep this sexy white megasoma clean).
Headset: Razer Megalodon
Mouse: Logitech MX518
Keyboard: Das S professional
Headset: Steelseries Siberia V2
Mousepad: Razer Goliathus
I used to have a bunch of razer stuff, but it breaks way too easily
My computer is my Dell XPS 15 with 6GB RAM and i7 processor, HD screen
Mouse - Razer Lachesis
Mouse Pad - Razer Goliathus
Headphones - Skullcandy Hesh
Keyboard - Just my laptops keyboard
I'm using...
a Razer Blackwidow ( love the clicky sounds it gives off)
and a Razer Deathadder at the moment
still looking for a headset that'll suit me well
oh and I'll be getting me a Goliathus pretty soon too.

Meglodon seems like a boss headset, but I'm pretty excited about trying a Tiamat soon!! >.<
With the mouse pad, the goliathus is really good but have a look at the megasoma!.. It feels amazing and looks boss, I'll have both at ACL this weekend if you want to try them out ^_^

Can't really ask for more from a mouse pad than the Megasoma, I will do a review on it after this weekend. It's just pricey.
Can someone tell me what the differences between mats are? I dont understand how there could possibly be differences. They are all black(ish) pieces of material arent they? Is there one that is particularly known for low friction (other than glass)?

just different feel to the different materials, some are rough, some are glossy, some are thick some thin, all just depends on preference. some dont stick to your desk - these are bad.

Update: Just ordered a Razer Goliathus for now mouse pad and also ordered the Blackwidow Ultimate keyboard today to replace my generic mousepad from acer and keyboard from medion.
Would have waited for my White-ra Special Tactics mouse pad but I couldn't wait any longer, my mouse pad is about to fall apart on me (have had it and been using it constantly for at least 6 years now and needed to be replaced badly). Dont know when I will get my White-ra mouse pad but will use the Goliathus til then.
Once these come in I will have:
* Razer Naga gaming mouse
* Razor Goliathus gaming mouse pad (or White-ra Mousepad when it comes)
* Razer Blackwidow Ultimate keyboard
* LG cheap as chips headset (which is falling apart on me too)

Reason: Fix up my gear list
^This guy knows the score. That headset is awesome. I have the same headset with the mic as well.
Mouse: Razer Deathadder
Keyboard: Black widow ultimate
Headset: ATH-AD700 + zalman mic
Pad: Razer goliathus
On a side note. The headset is the most comfortable headset I have ever had on. The bass isn't fantastic but the positional sound is absolutely amazing. 2.0 with the best positional sound on the market. Screw that fake 7.1 virtual crap. Razer should stick to keyboards and mice and stay out of audio.
Steelseries 6gv2 keyboard
Steelseries sensei
Evil Geniuses qck+ mouse pad
and an Old gamescom 777 headset it will propably die soon I've gaffa taped and super glued it a bit
The only thing I would change in this set up is the keyboard, get the silent edition instead. God damn mechanical keyboards are loud!
I got the Stealth which comes with black switches and it's not as loud as the blue switches but still loud. It's got a matte finish instead of gloss too, which means it doesn't get all grubby when you use it all day long. A good upgrade.
i use a razer death adder, (but will be upgrading to sensie raw when it comes out). Keyboard is a cherry brown leopold mechanical, feels really nice and is tenkeyless so i can have my arms closer together, and a sensie Qck mini for mouse mat. Anyone who can suggest a good headset?
Sporting
Das Keyboard
Steel Series Sensei 1400 dpi ( started on crazy 3600 >.< )
Team Liquid Razer Mousepad
27" Samsung LED Monitor Series 4
Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Headphones
Cheap $2 Desktop mic

Antec Three Hundred Case
Core i5 2500 3.3ghz
GB Z68MD2H
4gb G.Skill DDR3 1333
Seagate Momentus XT 500gb Hybrid Drive
2x 1GB AMD Radeon 6870 (Cross-Fire)
To the left of this setup is my baller DJ setup, with studio quality monitors, NS7, word-class headphones and many other toys
I wont get into the cars either but I love my cars
Got a couple upgrades lately so thought I should update:
Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate
Mouse: Razer Naga Epic
Mousepad: Razer Goliathus Control Edition and have a White-ra Special Tactics Mousepad in spare
Headset: Razer Megladon
Yeah, I am a bit of a razer fanboy

I use a TTeSports Meka keyboard. The cherry MX Black switches feel so nice.
I use a Steelseries 5hv2 headset. It's very comfortable & you can wear it for hours without it ever hurting. The sound quality is pretty good, the microphone isn't bad but you will need better for casting :\ the only major fault I've had is that the wires fray and aren't as sturdy as you would expect fiber-woven wires to be. I had to send my 1st set off to be replaced in Belgium or something D: though I am happy with them.
I use a Logitech G400 mouse: It's a gaming mouse in disguise as an office mouse :P It's really reliable, though. Sturdy, nice grip & dpi. The Steelseries mousemats are quite nice too
I'll throw a picture of my setup in too, just for the hell of it
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate (Fantastic keyboard, my 1st mechanical one)
Razer Imperator (Awesome too, smooth and reactive, macro buttons rock)
Steelseries QcK Mousepad (Thin and works perfectly with my Imperator)
Im using the Razer Diamondback 3g(Mouse),Razer Arctosa(keyboard) and Razer Carcharias(headset). Quite obvious im a razer head =P but they've never let me down so im happy =D
Mouse: Razer Imperator 2012 BF3 Edition
Keyboard: Razer Lycosa MIRROR Special Edition.
Mousepad: None - use my desk as pad la.
Headset: Replaced with a Creative Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Sigma.

For anyone interested, the Roccat Kone+ is the best mouse I've ever used. It's built solidly, and perfect for anyone who prefers palm grip. The software UI is unbelievably well done as well.
