Are there enough players in Hong Kong to host a SC2 LAN?
I heard HK nightlife is huge.
The scene here is really dead. The 'Hong Kong' channel on SEA has an absolute max of 15 people and that is being generous. I know not everyone who plays will go in to their country's/city's chat group but just look around the region's tournaments and forums for HK people - barely any. Man... I can't even select the Hong Kong flag from the default smilies list below haha...
There have been a few attempts on TL to get some barcrafts going but there aren't many replies. The gaming scene here tends to be more focused on FPS or MMORPG games and the typical gaming age group tends to be travelling back and forth or studying a crap load for school. When SC2 first came out I thought it would be very popular in HK for ages but it just wasn't so. There might be a spike once HOTS comes out but I reckon it will go back to what it is now.
If you live here the nightlife gets a bit old with only a few spots to go to, the main ones being - Lan Kwai Fong and Wan Chai. Quieter places are there like Soho and Causeway Bay and if you look enough there should be some cool places not many know about. Visiting HK I can see why people like the nightlife but I still think it is better and crazier in Shanghai.
