Yea these sorts of threads your only gonna get the opinions of people who have only used them, and/or use them already. I use razer, but im thinking of changing for same reasons as tazerenix.
Personally Ive heard good things about Tt gear, razer ive had good experience assuming the gear i get isnt faulty (my mouse USB cable is atm )
Personally I use the Steelseries Sensei. Fantastic mouse, only a few complaints about it, mostly due to their lack of support for Mac. Love how customisable it is. 8.5/10 Would strongly recommend.
You should be able to download the drivers from the razer site without using Synapse but it takes some google searching. if you use :razerstore.com in your search string the results from razer should come up first. Totally agree snapse is only good if you want to use your configuration from multiple locations all with internet connections, the worst part is it restarts your computer with no warning after it updates itself and there is no way to disable it from doing so
Gotta try some though, what suits one person won't necessarily suit another!
I was tossing up between the Theron and the DeathAdder, super happy with the Theron (♥♥♥♥♥) but I'd still be interested to have a proper go of a DeathAdder at some point to see how they compare!
EDIT: also i find threads like these are silly, we want the opinion of the best players, but they all have gear sponsors, so they arent gonna say a different gear maker is better
I have said this many times to lots of peeps, but the DeathAdder is my favourite and has been for 6 years. Yes I've tried others, it just suits me the best
Death adder is my all time favourite for use, but the firmware corrupted after like 6 months so I'm not buying another one
It was a decent mouse for a few years when I had mine. Recently started acting up though, and I decided to try the SteelSeries Sensei Raw. Lighter, similar size, and glides a lot smoother than the deathadder. I think it's a pretty big upgrade.
There are so many variables that just going for someone else's favourite mouse with no point of reference is a bad idea, though.

I've had a Logitech G9 for 5-6 years now and it's still going strong. I can't really recommend anything else, as the build quality on this thing has lasted so long. It's comfy, came with 2 grips (can be used without a grip), weight system, programmable DPI that can be changed on the fly, blah blah blah.
You probably won't get a direct answer here, your best bet is to try some mice out.
