Not sure if this would be the right area but anyways
I've been hoping to start an Australian High schools starcraft 2 league and I wondering if there was anyone here who's schools would be interested in participating? Last year I started thinking about it and I reached out to a few schools, however this was during the holidays so people couldn't get into contact with others to pull a team together. By the time that school started again and I contacted some of the people most couldn't get enough players or didn't have the time.
So I want to see if there's any interest here, if you are in high school and have a group of friends or know people in your school who play starcraft 2 then you could put together a team and play in the friendly tournament. Initially I only thought about schools in Victoria but if there was enough interests from other states then maybe it could include all schools in Australia.
Anyways this was just seeing if there was enough interest because currently I only have two schools down for the tournament

Are you the guy from the Monash CGBC group doing a high school league? Because I saw a guy there advertising it but I think he was from ProxiTeam

There was a big thread discussing this some time ago. I'd suggest finding it ("SC2 in schools" was possibly the name). Lots of people posted (with some divided opinion) but I'm sure you'd find some people who were interested previously to contact.
yeah I posted on the cgbc page
the other thread discussed about sc2 within schools, part of the co-curricula system
of course this is an tournament where people can just represent their schools, whether officially or unofficially. So I don't want to mix up the two threads
It would probably be better as a 1v1 league, as it will be easier to fill up places then ^^ (I would compete at its current state but don't have any friends who play sc =.=)
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

While I agree it would be easier to fill up with a 1v1 league it certainly would be as fun. I was just talking to some ex-students from my school who set up a breakdancing competition about 5-6 years ago. What started with only 2-3 schools is now an annual event hosted by my school which has participants from 10+ schools and pulls in a massive crowd. I want to start something similar for starcraft 2, and while they are probably different things, after you get things off the ground, anything could happen to it.

(a state league would be cool)
While I think it would make it easier to get a team with ex-students, I don't want to have like ex-students from years back because that would detract it from the main goal of being a league for high school students probably undecided on this now, but maybe having ex-students from the previous year, but not any further back than that.

I know how that is, happens at so many schools lol. If we have enough people then we could probably make a team of mercs, sort of like clanless. I'm thinking that if we could get maybe 2-3 more schools signed up here, and a team of mercs then we would have a pretty nice tournament to start off with. I can definitely imagine being able to put together enough people for 1 merc team, 2 schools already confirmed and a potential one from this page so if just a few more people see this then it could work pretty well.
Yeah, im in same school(Balwyn High School) as darknoob we have about 4 people that play. Out best player has left, he was a high gm on SEA and high masters in NA
