Recently, I have been thinking hard about ways to teach the SEA community and focus the attention of good players towards the 'noobs' in our SC community. I now come to you, the SC2Sea community, with a proposition. I am now searching for 2 - 5 co-casters (to get a broad range of races players to cast) in order to create a group of 'SC2 teachers'. The aim of the group, as stated earlier, is to teach the SEA community and create a well established SEA based stream for analysing the game.
If this were to go ahead, the casts would be weekly/bi-weekly or possibly even tri-weekly, depending on how the idea is received by the community. There are several things which this stream could encompass:
-Live Streaming
-Replay Analysis
-Noob Training (where a noob is invited to the cast for a 'lesson' an replay analysis)
-Tournament Casting
-Interviews/Group Discussions
-Build Order Testing/Teaching
along with many more potential topics.
If anyone is interested in this, or interested in Casting/Co-casting, please post your details on this thread and send me a PM stating your interest. Also, if you have skype could you please include it (if you don't mind ), making it easier to communicate.
Thats about it at the moment, if you have any concerns don't hesitate to ask
I like the idea, especially with the idea of having a stream (and ofc, VoDs) which could act as learning points for a lot of the lower-league players in the SEA region. Personally I believe it could have the same helpful learning that can be found in pro-coach VoDs around the internet (iNcontroL's coaching VoDs for example).
Just some of my recommendations if you were to go ahead with this (take them as a grain of salt ofc);
Run it weekly; focusing on one race per week.
Have the students for your idea email in their applications to you; this way you can plan weeks in advance with ease.
From there, once you've got your casting line-up complete; organise to have 2-3 casters/high-level players per week in a similar teaching fashion to EGiNcontroL.
And go from there! All the best with this idea and I'll definitely be tuning in to see how things pan out! glgl ^^;
Thanks for the support SkyBreaker! Phoenix, I was actually thinking about asking you to be one of the casters of the stream and I'm still looking for the other few. I quite like Skybreaker's idea of running the show weekly and focusing on one race per week. We will also need to get guest 'pros' and casters to analyse/teach the viewers... I'm not really sure who to ask here, but at the moment any constructive criticisms or suggestions about this idea are much appreciated! I would prefer to know what you all want in a cast, as opposed to what I would want
The only issue I really see with this idea is that, well, Day9 already does it. For an idea to be successful you need to create something unique that people want to watch. Simply copying what he does isnt going to work because he already does it, and proberbly does it alot better.
Unfortunately, I already tried it with PK Starcraft and Newbie Tuesday but as Benji said, I wasn't as good as Day9. It was a very small splash so I didn't continue it because there were better things to do to build the community.
If someone else wants to give it a shot thou, I would support it. Personally thou, I just don't have the time for it =(

Do it shirtless and it might.
Get people on this, now.

Honestly, if it was concise and to the point, I'd probably watch it more than day9. I can't stand his pointless rambling about how he's getting his glasses fixed or some shit, puts me off watching most of his vods.
Of course, we would be doing this with a different flair to Day9, and incorporating several different features into the stream that make it much more desirable by the community. Anyone who is interested in this, could you please add me - nickmcguffin - on skype, and let me know
Further criticism and comments are appreciated,
Thanks

Would a community orientated thing that destiny does with his coaching be the answer?
I will flesh it out a bit more.
Good Person x can coach someone y, whilst y is being taught person x is doing their best to answer any constructuive questions that any stream viewers may have provided it relates to the current play. The largest issue with this is keeping the questions on topic but het thats what mods are for.
