Reason: added information on map pool
I dunno this event seems cool and all but there's a major flaw here and that is that you've accidentally forgotten to list metalopolis as one of the map choices...
This map pool is completely inadequate... current competitive maps should absolutely not be present, and you've left out staples of the RvR tradition such as Steppes of War, Desert Oasis and Debris Fields.
BTW there is 1-2 mystery maps that will be in the map pool. I'm terribad and might make it the starting map for the first round or the finals

I did consider shattered (not lost!) temple but apparently the poll options limits to 10 only. So...

It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

I think the idea of loser picks what ever map is amazing. The winner will be the person that can work out some really imba tricks on particular maps.. which is half the skill of RvR!!.. Sounds good to me.
Plus the fields is the best map in the universe for RvR, so it as the starting map is freaking amazing.
If you follow this format, I'll put up $50 to the prize pool.
As mentioned earlier and not mentioned as well, I have asked for feedback for everyone to pick 5 maps of their choice from the 10 maps I stated above.
I did not however say I'm taking and using all of the top 5 choices and also I have 1-2 maps in mind that will be in the map pool no matter what choices (not listed in the 10). Also, I had in planning, some more maps I wanted to put in the options but the poll only allowed for 10 options e.g. Shattered temple. If you noticed the pattern of the map choices, it is rotated as 2p/4p/2p/4p etc type of pattern choices.
While I am listening to the different feedbacks, we must remember this is hopefully reaching out to all leagues and all different types of players. I really do not see how Debris Fields would be a good map for RvR though maps like Scrap Station or Metalopolis are I feel, reasonable possibilities. I didn't think XNC would be a good choice because the map is small and might not fully showcase the potential of a RvR match up (imagine straight up cheese/rush or immortal sentry all in etc) but if there is a demand for it, I would think about it.
As much as $50 is a lot of money and I appreciate sponsorship (I still do!), I have to think of the whole player audience pool. So I cannot say for sure that Debris Fields will be a map in the map pool.
If however, most of you are still unhappy despite all considerations and efforts, please feel welcome to admin this and I'll be glad to take the back seat for this. No hard feelings.

Yeah i love the idea that the loser can pick any map ever, like these can be different starting map options. Then we can have a huge variety of games and maps defending on what people pick, man am i hyped now.
After thinking about it and considering the different possibilities I have made a decision with regards to the choice of maps in the map pool.
The 10 maps listed for voting is still ongoing but as I said before, it did not mean that the top 5 maps are going to be in the map pool. There was always the intention to include some non standard maps which were not stated in the 10 above. I do know there are some alarmed at the possibility that debris fields might be in the pool so I want to make it as fair and thought carefully decision.
The idea was to have some familiar maps (for those who are less adventurous but want to go for a RvR), some maps which would challenge those especially who didn't get their race [not revealing which maps yet], to think out of the box and some less standard maps [tbh suggestions such as blistering sands, scrap station even XNC if there is a strong call for it, comes to mind].
I was thinking of a total of maybe 9-11 maps which for a bo3 is a very big map pool and much as unlimited choices sounds interesting, I also do not want admin and player headaches who cant decide what to choose or constant asking what maps they should choose etc and ending up still choosing the familiar maps. Not everyone played wol and not everyone knows all the imba maps etc.
Anyways, to get to the point. I'm going to open up to 5 map choices to anyone who wish to sponsor monies to the prize pool ... with one catch. Minimum $5 and half of the monies will contribute to the prize pool for the RvR tourney (cap at $50 in total) and the other half (or the remaining) will go towards a KOTH show-match series that we were discussing some days earlier. The map with the highest contribution, will see their map choice being the starting map for the finals, 2nd highest for semis etc.
Serious interested peoples please pm me by 5 Aug (Tue).
