I played 0 games too, as shortizz says you just need to play 1 game and you qualify. some of the problems faces by Singapore players
Player X: it has the worst system ever
Player Y: I dont even know how it works. All i did was play 1 game. Den forfeit another one. U guys think I can give up my spot to someone else?
Player X: dunno
Player X: yea and then the whole thing bugged and they didnt give out anymore matches Player X: it was like my opponent and i agree to play another time since both cant make that time then both didnt check in then we played and cant report results coz none of us checked in at that exact time
Player Z: i only played 1 game on it too. well, i didnt even care about it past my first game, so oh well ^_^ Player Z: and.. we agreed on playing another time and we didnt get to report too, we didnt even KNOW how to report LOL
I doubt there will be casting for this... basically its one of the worse run tournaments I've seen for SC2 especially when you consider the prize pool involved. $1,750 SGD is A LOT of money to throw around frivolously like this and the sponsors could have gotten so much more out of this if they found the right people to run it. (For e.g any of the FXO Open tournaments / Malaysian LANs, Dox Cups, SEAL #2 etc all have similar budgets but get WAYYY more exposure and are run well better so players are satisfied and get good vibes from the sponsors)
In fact, I emailed like all their 5 email address on the website a month ago trying to get in contact with the admins so I could help promote it on SC2SEA or get their admin to post news about it consistently so people could follow but received not even a reply, so I really wonder who's in charge. There's no exposure, no reports, no streams, no updates no nothing and sponsor will probably not be happy because basically they will see 0 return and that would result in them to stop sponsoring which is sad.
Oh well GL to everyone playing in this! Hopefully they can learn from this mess I have put together a check list they could use as feedback. This was the biggest SC2 tournament in Singapore / Malaysia we ever had (prize pool wise) and was expecting sooooo much more from this.
Summary Problems with the tournament
Huge Prize Pool, close to zero exposure.
No coverage of results, no streams, no tournament updates.
Top players in the region like iceiceice, timber, westley, sungin, maltiso, jaff not in it.
Match reporting system buggy, can't report games.
Complicated website and tournament system reporting method, hard to navigate and use.
Players don't know the rules and format and/or its not stated clearly.
Nobody knows who is organizing it and admins are not visible.
Website emails unresponsive, admin / referee support non-existent
Basically this is e-sports. All around the world esports was a giant joke until people stepped up and MADE it better. Everyone that attends the event I ask that you try to overcome any shyness or awkwardness and make it CLEAR to the organisers that they did a TERRIBLE job. There is no other way to describe such a bad tournament. Don't focus on them as idiots, focus on them as FOLLOWING THE WRONG AVENUES OF COMMUNICATION (leaving out sc2sea.com) and the fact that their sponsors will be pretty sad considering how little exposure this will get.
You guys need a Dox, or a whole bunch of little Dox's to start making changes by speaking your mind to these people or things will never change.
Yesterday, I emailed them and they actually replied, they said I could not get into top32 because my two wins were forfeit wins It was not my fault..
If someone want to contact them, try to send it here mysg@alienwarearena.com or contact@alienwarearena.com. I sent both of emails.
