Who is excited for Brood War Remastered?

I never played much of it due to bad network connectivity online back in the day and my first experience playing the game against people and getting rushed 3 games in a row made StarCraft seem very mean and brutal.

I'm excited to be able to jump back into making custom maps + dicking around vs AI with my dad.
It was the first video game I ever played thanks to my dad+his brother, and I can't wait to feel the nostalgia. c:

Watching my dad play SC1 Campaign was one of the first video game memories I have, unfortunately he doesn't play as well as 5 year old me remembers (this was when holding out against the zerg for 30mins was a impossible for me on the 3rd level of the Terran campaign).
I am always feel good knowing other people have similar experiences with old games and family as I do

My Dad doesn't play video games so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post in this thread but I'm very excited to see how Korea reacts to it. I know they are going to hold some events for the launch but I wonder if the BW scene will embrace it and switch or if they'll try hold onto the original.

I guess it depends how closely it plays, I know they said it's just updated graphics basically but you never know if something was accidentally removed like a bug or glitch that really made bw, hopefully it plays exactly the same and this boosts bw back into some of it's former glory.

Hopefully it also gets bigger in the west, I'd love to see bw get big again, it's utterly amazing to watch imo.

I am a dad... I played this game when I was a teenager and it shaped me as a person. I am ******* excited to play but depressed about how hard it is and how bad I will be playing.

I will play it at some point. Some of the original FS member (the ones I used to work with) used to play it a lot before SC2, it was one of our staple games. Just doing random melee battles, where whoever managed to not get rushed or negotiate best would win :P

well, i played 1 game of remastered on the ladder and gave up. its just kinda dated.
didn't help that the opponent was nirvana
