wow the esl site is hard to use. I understand why so many esl events in the past have been seen in a low light from the people i have talked to. the website is hard to use for both players and admins TT. Patience out there people. If something is running less smoothly than you would like during the tourneys, please remember that everyone is doing the best they can with the resources that they have been given.
Thanks to everyone who tuned in and of course Zepph for doing a great job as always. Sorry about the technical difficulties and not being able to stream the finals. IrisCrimson and FlashDrakE make it to stage 2!
Another Stage 1 qualifier tomorrow and also more Stage 1 on Tuesday and Thursday next week. Won't see you guys for those casts or for Stage 2 but shall be casting again for Stage 3! (27th October)

We'd like to thank Maynarde and Zepph for their excellent job doing the casting today and introduce tomorrow's caster, whom most of you already know.
FlashFlamga
Thread has been updated with an intro for Flamga. He will be casting the second and fourth First Stage Qualifiers. Good luck and have fun to everyone tomorrow.
Woo Flamga getting another break! I'm sure you will be happy with his professionalism and energy. It was a pleasure to cast IEM Guangzhou Stage 2 and 3 qualifiers so I would be more than happy to work with ESL again pending Stage 2 qualifying times. Get in touch with me via Skype if you want to look into it more!
Shoutout to Maynarde and Zepph as well for being awesome taking on the majority of the qualifiers! If you need any stream production let me know!
Hey everyone, just letting everyone know that due to League of Legends having use of the main channel, Flamga's stream will go out over the secondary channel,
Hey everyone, today was a great day of gaming and thanks to everyone who turned out to both participate and watch the stream. We experienced some technical difficulties, but Flamga and Byrnsy were still a great casting team, and we thank Flamga for his time, especially as he wasn't feeling the best. Also thankyou to Baldie who offered to obs the matches after the technical difficulties, and who took over from Flamga when he got sick.
ESLAU would like to explain what happened today when a player challenged a result, and explain the reasons for the challenge and the reasons for our decision.
What is a Challenge?
A challenge is available to all players competing in ESL events who feel that a circumstance outside the game of starcraft led to a result in a match. We take these very seriously, and people can be reprimanded for challenging unnecessarily as it wastes valuable cup time and resources.
Today's Challenge
Today, a legitimate concern was raised by CubeBy in regards to a lag issue that cR.SanG was experiencing. He felt that the lag caused him to be unable to micro his units properly towards the end of the match.
Seriousness of a Challenge
Concerns were raised about the validity of the challenge, and we would like to assure everyone in the community that a challenge is always taken seriously. At least one admin must watch your replay and decide on the outcome in a fair manner right then and there. This takes time, and slows down the cup, but it is for the benefit of all players.
After much deliberation, and agreement by multiple admin's, the challenge was overturned due to the following reasons:
1. CubeBy's early mutalisk pressure and the loss of most of his zerglings and banelings caused him to fall significantly behind. This happened before the complained of lag issues arose.
2. cR.SanG's lead only grew throughout the game.
3. In the final confrontations, where the lag was complained of, numbers were so heavily in favour of cR.SanG both supply and value-wise, that the chance of CubeBy winning on a perfect connection was almost nil.
Due to these reasons, the complained of lag was deemed to have had no significant effect on the match and the game was awarded to cR.SanG.
Back on track!
Congratulations to cR.KingKong who won the top seed from todays match, and to FlashKyzer who received runner up. The thread has been updated, placing them in the seed list for Stage 2.
Good work to everyone that competed today, you all make the event what it is.
