We asked him if he had a photo or banner to use, he gave us this.
Hailing from India, DemiLove is no stranger to anyone who lurks here long enough. He's a constant high-placing finisher in local tournaments and also poses a threat to the Koreans and Chinese playing in Leifeng Cup. According to Aligulac, DemiLove has earned US$486 over the span of a year and a month. This year, he will definitely be able to earn much more than that! DemiLove has shown consistency in his play and he is always improving.
We've managed to get DemiLove in a Skype conversation and talked with him about his life, his new team, and his goals for 2015 in StarCraft.
You're pretty much famous in SEA now. Still, let us know who you are!
For people who don't Know me Im DemiLove a zerg player from India! I'm 20 years old been playing starcraft for over 3 years now!
I don't think a lot of people know what's India like. Tell us, how has living in India for your whole life been for you?
Well it's been pretty nice living here I just finished my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration so right now just focusing on starcraft and getting better. I've been living here for 20 years so it would be nice to live somewhere else.
If you could choose from 5 places to live in, where would those be?
Korea, Burbank California, Australia, Sweden, England (Editor's note: No Singapore? SadFace)
What's a day-to-day life for you currently?
I wake up early around 5-6 go for a brisk walk Customs/Ladder then I take a break for the afternoon which involves lunch study a few games on youtube and repeat in the evenings after my 5-6 walk. (AEDT is 5.5 hours ahead of India)
What's your favourite food?
American BBQ/Steak
I know there are lots of lower level Zerg players out there who would ask for tips. If you would be so kind, what's a recommended opening for each match up you would recommend?
ZvT: 15h 16p 17g
ZvZ: 15p 15h and a gas at 3-3:15
ZvP: I recommend drone scout to see if it's forge or gateway. If forge pool first, if gateway hatch gas pool is best for low level players till diamond.
Thanks for the tips! What's your favourite Zerg unit and why?
Zerglings because they're fast and good for counter attacks!
What about your favourite units for other races?
Favourite Protoss unit Stalkers, favourite Terran unit Marauders.
Alright, now more about your team. How do you feel about joining your new team now? Also if you're comfortable, let us know how did you get on the team.
Feels pretty good to be joining ESC Icy Box. I'm already friends with Jade and JackO hoping to get to know the others well. Really looking forward to my Euro trip to meet up with everybody and also Boot camp ^_^
Since I was going to mYi house to prac Jacko asked me if I was interested. My decision was solely based if i do well in WCS. Top 6 wasn't bad and I want to improve much more so I can get Challenger, maybe even premier next season and these guys can definetly help me
Sounds sweet! When are you going to Europe?
After the SEA Qualifiers for WCS. I'll play those and go to Europe.
Nice! Definitely gonna tune in. How confident are you in making Premier in 2015?
With practice from Zergs on KR, customs with uThermal/Kelazhur/Kontinue you can bet your socks that I definetly will next season!
If you could choose your hashtag like #GetJollyForWally or #TrustInFrust, what would you want yours to be?
I can't think of anything that would rhyme with Demi apart from #SemiForDemi.
Is there anything else you would wanna tell the SEA community? Your goals this year, shoutouts, or anything?
Goal is to start taking games of bigger names make premier league, and a huge shoutout to my former team DuSt Gaming for giving me amazing practice finding me people on KR to do customs, and a huge shoutout to ESC ICY Box for giving me an oppourtunity to play for them
Look out for DemiLove in 2015! I wouldn't be surprised if he finishes Top 8 in the OSC Rankings! Congratulations on your new team Varun, you have certainly done us SEA folks proud!
But seriously, This guy has been working his ass off for a good chunk of time. He enters into everything, no matter the odds and still manages to put up a solid fight! This guy has definitely earned his place!!
