The qualifiers will commence on Saturday the 23rd of July at the Adelaide Convention Centre, with registrations opening at 10:00AM, and the tournament kicking off at 1:00PM. Games will be streamed and commentated by Kellymilkies via justin.tv/kellymilkies
Tournament registration will cost $10.00, in addition to the AVCON entry fee ($30 for the day, $25 for students), and is open to all participants over the age of 15 years. Note that participants must use their own valid SEA StarCraft 2 Accounts.
The first-place winner will receive a qualifying spot and flights/accommodation to the WCG Australian Grand Final, October 15th - 16th at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
Additional lucky door prizes will also be given away.
Local and interstate attendees will find travel and accommodation options here.
In addition to the WCG qualifier, there will be a wide range of cosplay and gaming attractions to see and participate in at AVCON.

The reason the cost is expensive is because there is a cover charge to get into the event which is anima focused. Now Im going to have to look into actually going just to support the esports SA.
EDIT2: Also if someone from AVCON does answer my above, would I be able to play both TF2 and SC2 or will it be too much of a hassle because they are on at the same time.
EDIT3: Can't register on the AVCON forums coz the image verification isn't working.
Thanks.

I've emailed the person from TLS about it, and I'll let you know asap.
Where will it be at avcon? If its on the floorplan, point it out. If not, show in which direction from it, Im pretty sure theres more space which isn't specified there.
I'd also like it confirmed that we can bring our own peripherals and if there will actually be internet at the convention centre.
I shall come dressed up as um..... Natsumi! I don't even know which/who that character is but it's a common anime/manga name so I'm assuming that this character exists. I'm NOT a girl so SUFFA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To the time: I'm still waiting for a reply -_-
To peripherals: I'm still waiting for a reply -_-
To internet: The reply I got was "We have had all of this checked by our committee members and each of them are gamers and confident that the internet they will have onsite will be sufficient."
Last check on the avcon site stated that you were not able to bring your own devices due to time restraints, however this was for the street geeks room. Here is a response I recieved from TLS in regards to the situation:
Hi,
Unfortunately the event is run by Avcon and we are only having a presence there so I assume that if it states the information on their website then it should be correct. You should confirm with an Avcon member to double check just in case.
But I am still unsure if it will be held in the street geeks room or another location.

Can't bring your own peripherals? Well that kinda blows :| Hope this isn't the case.
Yea, I mean I could play on any setup and suck just as bad so it's not a huge deal if was to play. But to watch people play and knowing that they are all handicapped makes me feel less inclined to spend the money to get in.
