Help me choose a Clan TA themed tattoo

I recently got a tattoo on my left shoulder, and have intended to get one on my right shoulder to represent the two sides of my family/heritage. I decided I wanted a third tattoo on my right bicep just under the sleeve to represent my 3rd family - clan TA.

Whether it's another one by poor CheekyDuck, who has to drive 1.5 hours each way to get to the tattoo parlour, or someone else I need to find a design that will look effective as a relatively small logo on a curvy area like the bicep but don't have much experience with tattoos. The obvious options are the TA logos but a whole new design would also be acceptable.

I was hoping some people with an artistic eye or experience with tattoos could help me out and think of some ideas for a sc2sea house clan themed tattoo that will be with me forever! To me it will represent not just the players in TA as SC2 teammates, but as some of the best friends I have ever and will ever have. The fact we play the same game doesn't matter as it could be any game but events like the TA retreat have cemented this bunch of guys as some of my best and closest friends on or offline.

Hopefully someone takes interest in this, and I will post my own ideas here too, so to start you off here are the general themes and logos of TA, and what kind of things I am/am not looking for in the tattoo design:

Themes: TA letters, snake/serpent, Australia, simple, small, black

Do not want: Plain text, too big/intricate, colour, SC2 theme (we were originally a BW clan and it doesn't matter what game we play)

A good starting point may be the TA logos throughout our history, though only the latest one is a realistic tattoo choice. Even then, the perfect circle and some of the fine detail may mean it will not turn up well in a small tattoo.

I was thinking something this kind of size (or smaller, like 1.5-3 inches) and position:

Above it will likely be the Ferguson Clan crest which will look something like this, though less colourful (still in colour) and maybe with something added to spruce it up (a claymore or something through it?)

hmmm ok well i think the TA one needs to be a similar style or something that ties in with the crest above it, just cause it will look better imo. maybe still with something simple and black? i reckon the snake from the newest logo could work quite well and maybe a similar font to whats in the crest?

The trouble I had with using the TA logo is that the snake has lots of fiddly bits which might not work out if I want it quite small. Things like the teeth and the spines on the back will be hard to do especially if Jess does it as still a "beginner".

Like I said though I could get it done by someone more experienced seeing it shouldn't be too exy anyways.

yeah its going to have to be a decent size if you want any detail in it though. also you have picked a painful spot

I am a big tuffie

lol I flinched more at the cold soap water than the tattoo needle, which wasn't really very painful - bit of a pinching feeling even though it bled a lot.

lol yeh but outer arm is ezpz shoulders even elbow i found less painful than inner arm. all my ones that hurt are unfinished lol

You know the current TA logo reminds me of one of the tattoos in GTA Chinatown Wars that you can put on people. The guy later said mine's was shit

(blame DS calibration and not my none existent artistic skills)

the serpent from the first image is the ONLY TA themed tattoo you should even consider.

you're living with this thing for life; the serpent has the double of advantage of a) looking somewhat bad-ass and b) being something you can live with should things go down the tube later on.

i still think you're incredibly reckless if you go ahead with this, but your balls dwarf mine, so power to you i guess.
