You'll notice im new, but ill tell you about me first, im from Victoria Australia, living in a city about an hour out of melbourne. Im still inschool, and im a lower level bronze player looking to improve massively. I love SC2 and have a Beta Account for HOTS (thankyou EB Games) and cant wait for it to come out! I play Protoss and im still learning how to macro properly defend those early rushes etc.
Now on to my idea, im willing to host and organise a weekly tournament for all player levels, or just BSG. I know there are several around already, but whats another one right?
This tournament will be a knockout tournament,
(Many other rounds depending on how many players participate)
Quarter Finals BO3 - Round of 8
Semi Finals BO3 - Round of 4
Grand Final BO5
All other rounds will be BO1 but may become BO3 depending on participants.
As im only young and all i can do is organise this, i cannot offer any coaching because well im not good.
EDIT: Removed Prize Money.
This tournament would be held weekly, Sundays most likely.
So, if anyone would participate/cast/offer some assistance to running or have any feedback or ideas let me know.
I think the more tournaments the better! The more people getting know in SEA the better! Im only new but i can see a great things happening!

Edit: To add some substance to my post - it is generally recommended that you do not offer an attractive prize such as $400.00 to lower levels only, as it encourages smurfing.

The very best!
Like no one ever was
Dooo dooo dodo!
400$ pool would be the size offered to pro levels. So you can have it completely open if you wanna offer money. I recommend you look at all the tourneys already happening and maybe see if you can help out with those first? 1) because you are inexperienced and organising/running these things isn't always easy. 2) because There is already a good number of tourneys around plus with sealc running as well, you might struggle to find a time that doesnt clash with something already organised.
most people on the site have 1, but its always a risk that you take. Keep the prize money if you want, just don't make it bsg. Personally, I would Run the tournament anyway, regardless of interest. The more you run a well organised tournament every week regardless, the more people come. You're never gonna get a big, well respected tournament with hundreds of participants by making an interest thread, it comes from hard work. That being said, you're right, another weekly tournament could never hurt. If you're going to have payment as entry then you need to offer pretty high prize money for risk/reward factors, as people already run weekly/monthly tournaments that have ok prize money, that you don't have to pay to enter. gl!
SEA is a much better community than some other games forums i have been a part of. I had to fight my away through 3 or 4 bump posts for people to look at ideas and suggestions. I might look at prize money i the future then, ill see what i can do though. Thanks again.
- thanks to everyone who bothered to post, your input was invaluable and will be put to use, expect to see a new tournament soon!
