Today we have decided to take on Buu aka Poreotix or DTFStealThor. As many of you know, he recently got himself in trouble in a BSG where after being refused to play his off race due to being higher in his main, he tried to jump on some other friends accounts to play in the BSG. He was rightfully punished for this and kicked from TCP.
Khang came to me shortly afterwards asking if there was any chance we would look at him. I decided to have some long chats with him, noticing that he was both in Adelaide like myself and only 13. We all know the silly things young people do, but what impressed me was his passion, his regret behind his actions and his commitment to fix what he had done.
Thus we decided to take a chance, something we have avoided greatly to date in recruiting our players and help Buu grow into a more complete member of the community. We have decided however that we will not use Buu in clan wars for one month from his joining (which will be the 26th of June) and use this time as a reminder to himself of the damage he caused and the type of tolerance we have to that sort of behaviour.
As with all our members, Buu knows that any kind of smurfing, cheating or abuse of fellow members of the clan and the community will result in instant dismissal.
We are excited to give him this opportunity and to give someone an opportunity to grow as a person, as well as a player and we look forward to seeing what the end results of Buu's transformation will be.
If anyone has concerns, they can contact me at any time.
I was happy to see him find a new clan so quickly! I don't regret our decision of removing him from the clan because we had to do what was best for TCP. He understood this and left without any bad blood. So to see him find a new home so quickly is nice and I hope he does well at FS. All the best both FS and Buu! Clan war sometime in the future?
The smurfing incident isn't the extent of his sillyness. You may not be aware that he also joined pX (at the same time as he was in TCP) and was kicked from us as well (kicked due to the smurfing incident). He openly stated in our chat that he was going to smurf BSG, and was aware that what he was doing was smurfing...whilst bragging about it. We told him not to do it because the community and we care about his actions (he stated who really cares if he does it) and he finally understood and said he wouldn't, but then an hour or something later he made a fake account and tried it.
Apart from this questionable action (stupid imo) there have been countless other times where he has just been BM or quite frankly just stupid in ladder matches and tournaments, and often its unclear whether he is joking around or not. Put simply he was a hassle.
I understand he is 13 and prone to these things, but using that line of thought it just leads me to believe he will not mature regardless of the opportunity you have given him.
That said, I wish you guys luck.

I'll just clarify this point. I didn't outright refuse, I said he needed to ladder legitimately as the other race for a few weeks and see what league he ended up in. His response was to ask at least two different people if he could play on their accounts instead.

Yes sorry, I should have been clearer there
It’s the same stance Asrathiel and I had during SEACL T5, if you don’t have absolute proof you are BSG, you will most likely not be allowed to play.
When in doubt of your eligibility you should always ask, it doesn’t hurt to do so and trying to be sneaky or deceitful in joining tournaments like the BSG and GPD, just makes the admins lives harder and without them, we wouldn’t have these tournaments.
The SEA Community is small and the players in it are respectful to each other how ever when someone knows or advertises that they are going to smurf or compete in a bracket that is below there standard of play no matter the players age i feel is mistrustful and deceptive and obvious measures need to be taken which i believe they have.
Everyone in life will make mistakes, they need to acknowledge them and move on not repeating the action again.
i wish FS the best of luck in maturing this player into a confident player that doesn't need to smurf and lower his standards to compete to win.
I think he has potential, as a player he's not bad. The problem is his attitude and behavior and the way that he presents himself online to the community, if you can change these things i think you have a player with some serious talent on your hands. But then again it may all fall through and end badly still I wish you the best of luck.
Oh I'll be clear on what I think of this right here I think it's a good thing someone decided to give him a chance , yes we understand the kid's 13 years old but I also have to say that he also needs a lot of growing up to do. Please do guide him on his future decisions and actions. Oh...that aside...try to and fix his erm..."emotions"(rage)

I finally decided to be Terran after a while...and damn it feels good.
Yes I agree that everyone should be given second chances. What I don't agree with is that we are using his age as an excuse. I've been participating in tournaments and clan wars since I was 12 and even then, I understood that smurfing and cheating would have resulted in a really bad outcome. But I'm glad that he has found a new clan so fast and hopefully he has learnt his lesson and would go on to be wiser.

I think he has much potential. When he meets a build that he cant beat at a certain time, it bugs him enough to do something about it. However I agree it's the attitude that bugs most of us.
I don't think that he isn't a confident player or that he intentionally is lowering his standards to compete to win. I believe he smurfs because he just wants to win and get the pure satisfaction out of it. I have heard how he bugs certain players for games (not just about wanting to practice but hoping to beat them perhaps so that he has yet another 'trophy' win) or mentions one time too often (in a way that can be annoying), wins over good players or players perceived as better than him, in often one-off games.
If he can stop doing that, mature as a person and a player, I believe he will be able to achieve much. Hopefully these incidents will finally be the last of him smurfing, raging, bm-ing etc.
One remains optimistic, even if it is cautiously so.

Spot on, good advice from the community lets hope he can take heed and develop!!
Raise him well, as a Starcraft II player of course. He's got a potential, but he does need to grow up in terms of manner and etiquette. He needs to learn that there are differences between presenting yourself well, and presenting himself improperly. As of late the smurf incidents and a few other things do show that he doesn't have the right manner and etiquette as a player, and this has given people a bad opinion of him.
I don't think he's a bad person but he does really need to be shown the good ways. Best of luck. I'm sure you guys can look after him well and allow him to realize that being good doesn't just mean he can do anything he wants within the community, but that he has to properly present himself to the community and let opportunities come to him.

I fully respect this decision, smurfing doesn't make someone a bad person, just not aware that people think it's a big deal. They just want to troll some peeps, and so they do. Sure it's bad but letting him join your clan is fine IMHO.
DTFStealThor has got some very good potential. We saw him go from someone who relied on AllIns to someone who can play a good long macro game as well as his promotions in the BSG scene. While we thought it was a lil bit BM how he went about his games, we all took it in good fun as it was a game.
Its a sad ordeal that he was so obsessed with winning that it drove him to try and smurf in the BSGs. And I kinda predicted this from the personality that was shown from ingame messages. While it is good to win, winning versus players whose skill level is lower compared to yours is cheap.
Some people have posted have talked about the thrill of winning. Does winning versus the lower ranked players make you feel good? Really? It should make you feel ashamed cause its not a fair fight (that or from my experience, on ladder - a slight annoyance cause it means you're doing poorly/someone is doing better, in tournaments where seeding is random - just another pebble #never4get1stotourneyexp)
You want a good feeling? Beat players of your skill level and better! The feeling is better and you feel good! Course, cheap wins can become a bit debatable.
Course, what say do I have in this? I'm just a Panda.
Best of luck to and DTFStealThor.
