Masters Cup Sun 8th April! $10 prize just for joining
Welcome to the 15th SEA Masters Cup!
SEA vs the World!
(Games will be played on NA server)
The time has come, where every 3rd month, we invite players from all around the globe to come play against the best SEA has to offer. We hope this brings greater exposure to the SEA scene, and gives some of our players opportunities not always available to them. We are confident many of our players can compete against the worlds best, and as a result we'll have plenty of high quality games for the spectators to enjoy.
This Masters Cup shall now also act as the first NA open qualifier for our new season of the SEA Star League, a $850 prize pool, 16 player double elimination tournament. The top two players from this event earn seeding into the SEASL. Additional info can be found here
The Masters Cup is a single elimination style tournament. $140 prize on offer to the winner, $70 2nd prize, $30 3rd. Plus $30 to the highest placed SEA player. $280 prize pool total*! This event is sponsored by FaDeBadger, Eddie and sc2sea.com
(FaDeBadger has generously donated $150 towards this events prize pool.)
Any reason you decided to help with this Masters Cup?
It's always good to see solid prize pools for monthly tournaments like this and I love to see the SEA scene go up against some of the KR (and hopefully some NA) pros. Contributing to the prize pool seemed the best way I could further this desire.
Can you tell us a little about yourself, Starcraft, team?
I'm 23, a postman for Australia Post and currently attending university as well. In my 6th year of Mechanical Engineering which I've been doing part time. I'm a diamond protoss who fools around at about platinum level as random sometimes. I'm also a member of the clan FaDe which probably contributed to my finally leaving platinum league after a good 3 or so seasons.
You helped admin the SEACL season 2, how was that?
It was quite different to what I was expecting, previous to this the only experience I had admin/running anything was as a raid leader in WoW. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that the Starcraft II people are much more intelligent than the WoW crowd and they basically ran themselves.
Who are you favourite SEA + International players atm?
Well my favourite SEA player has to be TtPiG, not only is he an awesome zerg player he is also a good friend and roommate of mine. As for international players I am a huge MarineKingPrime fanboy, owing to the fact that his marine splitting in Open Season 2 was what got me into watching Starcraft. Favourite Protoss players at the moment would have to ST_Parting and CreatorPrime, they are definitely people to look out for in the future.
Who are the top 3 SEA players to watch out for in this Master's Cup?
The most obvious choice here is mOOnGlaDe, he was and still is an absolute beast of the SEA server. My other 2 pics are Mafia, always puts in solid performances and PiG cause he promised me he would win it
Definitely look out for some of the more underrated players like Ninja though, his strong results last Master's Cups can't be ignored.
Sponsors and donations for this event are welcomed, if you'd like to help out, please pm me. Masters Cup usually gets around 10000+ viewers, and 100-150 of the highest quality players in the SEA region. Our last few Cups have had 13000+ viewers!
