Delraich:
Welcome! If you need any advice just say
Haha i've had a nice playthrough with riiChard, KrUnch and ChadMann but now i'm soloing (from the spider queen onwards). Just wondering what things I should pay attention too item wise for early game, and also the most useful skills. I love the banelings (plague toads) .
EDIT: Holy shit, the first rune for firebats is sick.

So far, I have played solo witch doctor through normal, nightmare and hell. I can describe what I did/ what worked for me - but everyone is different so you might find a totally different approach that suits you better.
Anyway... here goes:
Normal difficulty - I reckon this is the time to really try out all the different spells because later on some of may not be that good when you get higher up. I personally didn't do this as much as I probably should have and as a result I have never even tried rain of toads and a ton of other things. I started with the dog pets and was super excited when I first got to play with my gargantuan. My favourite spell from the beginning was grasp of the dead - and it is still a really good spell now. I enjoyed poison darts right from the start (with splinter) and again, they have served me well right up to now. My personal play style really needs at least 1 aoe spell and have always had at least one on my hot bar since the start. In the beginning I loved the acid rain but in the meantime I have started using spirit barrage with phantasm which is fantastic in my opinion. I used haunt from the beginning as well and I still have it on my hot bar! Regarding gear - I don't recall buying very much (maybe a decent weapon or 2) for the entire first play though. I don't think you need much to finish normal. Just have fun I reckon and experiment.
Nightmare - OK, I think I was expecting something much harder, but it wasn't really. I do remember hitting a few patches of feeling underpowered though, and off to the AH I did go. I went for the usual Intelligent/ Vitality type of thing in the beginning. After a while, I tried out life regen and I really liked that choice. When I got to diablo, this is when I first realised that I needed to actually spec for the fight and change some gear around. I needed to make sure I could survive the bone cages and didnt get one shotted - so I bought enough vitality and some cheap blue rings with All Resistance (like 40 altogether - nothing too insane).
Moving into Hell, this is when my gargantuan started taking strain. So I had this brainwave. I went to the AH and bought a ton of gear with +armour on it thinking it would make my gargantuan super tough. Well that was an epic fail and I had to go back to my normal stuff. This is also when I decided my acid rain wasn't "cutting the mustard" and I made the move to spirit barrage/ phantasm. I also found a ton of posts where people were dropping their gargantuan's for the wall of zombies. I tried it but found the play style too slow for me, esp. the cool down of this spell was just a bit too much. At level 54 I got my ZOMBIE BEARS!!, and specced that right away. It is actually damn cool, but it burns through your mana and you need to get a special build for this to allow it to work (basically vision quest). However, the close range of this style of play still doesn't do it for me, so I only play with the bears in specific fights. I finished hell with my gargantuan. Gear wise, I am still using intelligence alot, enough vitality to get me to 22k or so health. I also wanted to hit diablo at level 60, so I played this level nice and slow and cleared all the parts of the dungeons without skipping much.
I have just hit Inferno and haven't done much. The rare mobs are pretty rough now. I found out the hard way about the enrage timer because I totally forgot about this new ability.
As of right now, my build is:
Left click - splinter darts
Right click - spirit barrage with phantasm
1 (thumb on mouse) - grasp of the dead with eels
2 - gargantuan (I think his days are numbers really soon unless this new patch comes quick)
3 - spirit walk (this is a great spell)
4 - haunt (i use the life gain one)
Passives:
Jungle Fortitude - love this and have had it since day 1
Blood Ritual - this pays 15% of your mana costs with life and gives you 1% health regen. This is damn good and can't live without it now (unless it is a specific fight) where you need to spec into Pierce the Veil + Spirit Vessel)
Spiritual Attunement - again mana regen is a must for me because I spam the phatasm's like a bastard and go OOM real quick without these passives.
Update: My WD is currently lvl 16 at end of Act I just got into Act II, havent played my WD much lately, been lvling a DH and Barb, DH just killed Diablo and is now in nightmare and Barb is in Act IV.

Where I am placed currently: SEA: NA: My Crawl up the Laddershere
WD's have the highest MF in the game thanks to their 1 hand sword which gives a max of 35% MF. Yes legendary weapons do have MF!
It's called "Manajuma's Ritual Cutter"
Offhand Mojos
Also applies for Wizard obs too. The Base Damage is everything i.e the 50-360 thing you see and has a HUGE impact on your overall DPS. 99% of the time you are better of a with a cheap blue <100k then a rare 50-240 that costs millions. Only thing is the AH is spazzy and you can't search by damage, so you have to mouse over one by one.
Raithen #1954
Raithen(WD) - Raeynor(Monk)
Both Level 60
Both Act3 finished
Hit me up for run throughs, free gear (i just vendored 5 1000+ damage weaps xD)
All that good stuff.
WD's, Two builds i use, the generic darts, grasp, wall, cooldowns build and a summoner bear build.
Bear build is my favourite, let minions run in, go spam bears, wait for your survival passive that saves you from dieing to proc, time it so you spirit walk (jaunt) as it ends, run the F*** away lol
