Hie, TNRising did send you a msg ytd regarding the starting player, did you not receive it?? In the msg it stated that TNNyx is our starting player..the msg was sent thru ur personal inbox
As in, PM on the forums? Just checked and my inbox was full. If he can send me a screenshot with a time stamp that says when he sent it (ie from his 'Sent Items' folder), I can fix that up
OK, I now have a screenshot showing that TN attempted to send me their starter on Tues 29th, but because of Skype's silly system of only sending messages when both people are online, I never received it.
We are all good, and no one is starting down Huzzah!
I just wanted to clarify the points situation. We have decided to be consitent throughout all tiers and thus Tier 4 and Tier 5 will be following this points structure:
Major Win (4-0, 4-1, 4-2) - 3 Points
Minor Win (4-3) - 2 Points
Minor Loss (3-4) - 1 Points
Major Loss (2-4, 1-4, 0-4) - 0 Points
Teams level on points are then ordered by Major Round Wins, then Minor Round Wins and then overall score difference. I will be sure to get a table up showing it soon
Table
After round 1 we have the following table, with Team AxiS clear by one map score at the top. Six of the eight competiting teams picked up points in round 1 to open their account!

Lets get into tonights matches!
Eternal eSports vs Quod Erat Demonstrandum
Finally ETL get their chance to kick off the Tier 5 campaign and having a week to watch the first round games should give them a slight edge over their opponents. FaDeAlan was recently promoted to Platinum and will probably be the ace and the main Zerg threat. The rest of their wins will need to come from their Terran and Protoss, with Silver Hunter leading the charge. And whilst Hunter has drawn a gold, it is PvP, so theres a good chance for a 1-0 start for ETL.
Last week QED suffered a major loss at the hands of new comers Tetilla Gaming. However they still picked up 2 wins from DGImpstar(QEDReaper) who looked confident in PvZ, which might be the key tonight. Indeed DGImpstar and QEDDeNile both hit platinum, so this Protoss duo will be looking to backup their Protoss starter CivFan to get QED their first points of the campaign, and preferably a win! The question is, how good is ETLs XvP?
Tetilla Gaming vs Fusion Slugs
As mentioned above, Tetilla managed to win last week in their debut and it was a pretty impressive win against a quality opponent. This week they have another good test and another comfortable win might well sure them up as title contenders. TGnastybutla was promoted to platinum, but it was TGboahwar who was the hero last week with a 3 kill. They have strong options in each race and are definitely looking good going into tonights game, starting with silver zerg TGDarthTesla.
The Fusion Slugs meanwhile came oh so close to taking their game with Team Night, in yet another typical nailbitter between themselves and Team Night. The positive thing for FS is that silver QleXx took a two kill, but they couldnt find the gold ace to close the match out. This is something they really need to address this week, but with key players still not back from holiday, they need someone new to shine. FSDescent will be starting, giving us an opening PvZ.
Team AxiS vs Meta Game Gods
Team AxiS scored the biggest win of the week in Round 1, with a 4-1 win over ToR, a very strong team. But this great news is countered by the fact that 3 kill hero DarkPhoenix, has now left the side. With DuSt being the only other playing last week, it means we are left with a lot of unknowns here. They have four other golds ready for action and have each race covered. Their starter will be DrWhiteboy, who will be the first Terran used by Team AxiS.
Their opponents showed why they are one of the favourites last week, taking down ToT in a very close and at times, just strange series! mGG will be very pleased with their start and know that they hit an in form team and they will need to play just as well, if not better to take the win. 3 mGG players won last week, which is another great confidence boost for them with random player mGGEmperor hitting platinum and will probably be the key ace player.
Team Night v Trick or Treat
Our final match sees Team Night back up after an ace match win over FS and its no surprise that two of their silvers have now hit gold, showing great play last week. TNSkywolve is the key for them, saving them from disaster last week, with 2 clutch wins to give them they 4-3 result. They still have a small roster, but its a strong player base and any team which underestimates them will be undone. Their sole silver, zerg TNNyx will be first out.
ToT meanwhile went down in their ace match in the crazy series. We saw their players show great persistence and determination, winning a game after losing all their tech and being 100 supply down. And also creative strategies, with proxy stargates into mass void rays. I expect nothing less this week and this should be a fun series to watch. ToT have two platinums now in PPPToT and YituoshiToT, but still only one lone zerg in silver. PizzerToT will lead them out for a silver level TvZ!
How do you feel about pulling off a starter all kill?
I didn't think that I would grab an all kill. I am glad that I was able achieve this. I am also relieved that I was able redeem myself for last week.
You used the same build every game.
I only prepared for game one. The rest of my games, I just thought about how they would go. However, after I won game one, I felt like I was going to win the rest of my games.
FSDescent disconnected in game one, and you agreed for a rematch.
In the first game my build didn't go as smoothly as planned, so I welcomed the chance for a re-game (laughs). Nothing had been decided yet and the game was even, so I thought it would be unfair to take the win.
Did you expect to grab an all kill today?
I just told myself that I would just try to win only game one for today. If I win game one then I can peacefully approach the rest of my games so I think that's why such a good result followed through.
This season's goals?
I want to catch them all.
It feels like you would want an all kill for the next match as well.
Of course (laughs). I'll be preparing my best and I'm confident I can win again.
Your next match will be against ToT.
I think that their ace player, PPPToT seems pretty good. All the rest seem pretty beatable (laughs).
Anything else you would like to say?
I think that the team is in a good place right now. We're going to be working even harder than we've been working now. Lastly, I want to thank Nastybutla hyung for helping me practice for my first match today. I can never beat him so I promise I'll beat him soon (laughs). Luckily I got two protoss players today so all the beatings I took in PvZ helped me take the all-kill.
Round 2 has come and gone, so its time for the report of last weeks game (expect preview for week 3 and 4 thursday!!)
Eternal eSports vs Quod Erat Demonstrandum
Game 1 saw the classic 4 gate vs 4 gate in PvP. Unfortuantely for ETLHunter his 4 gate was slightly slower then QEDCivFan and the stalkers were able to get in the base and do too much damage. ETLWrath was out next for a TvP. ETLWrath opened up with a 2 rax concussive push which was held off by QEDCivFan's 4 gate. Both expanded with the terran teching to medivac. QEDCivFan used the timing to do a gateway push and took out the expansion. The problem was ETLWrath was building to a strong bio push and his counter push caught QEDCivFan just short of having collossi and made it 1-1.
TAHawkeye was out next for QED and both he and ETLWrath did a 3 rax opening, with TAHawkeyes being slightly more economic, but a faster stim, as ETLWrath cut SCV production. This meant TAHawkeye was able to hold the push and then counter as ETLWrath tried to secure a natural and win the game. This brough out pXAlan for ETL and gave us a TvZ. pXAlan went hatch first into early baneling nest, and TAHawkeye went 2 rax factory with tanks. TAHawkeye was able to hold off the attempted baneling bust and went to put pressure of his own on.
pXAlan just had enough to hold off the marine tank push back and the game settled down as both got to 3 bases. The final engagement took place at the zerg base, with the roach/ling/muta/bane force to much for the marine tank forces and leveled it at 2-2 again. DGimpstar was next out for QED for a PvZ. pXAlan did a pool into hatch, where as DGimpstar did a 4 gate. The zerglings found the pylon and the probe and delayed the 4 gate, which gave pXAlan time to get the roaches up to hold off the push.
DGimpstar followed it up with an expo and an immortal sentry gateway push, but a nice flank from pXAlan held that off and forced the gg from DGimpstar. Goste was the ace for QED, giving us another ZvT. Both expanded early and pXAlan went into another 2 base baneling push. Goste didnt have tanks up or enough forces and bunkers to hold it off and lings streamed into the base and gave ETL the 4-2 win.
I caught up with pXAlan after the game and he had this to say.
FSBenAD: pXAlan, a very nice 3 kill to win the game for your team, how do you feel pXAlan: I feel good and proud. still a bit twitchy from the nerves
FSBenAD:: how many other clan events have you done? pXAlan: I have played one game of clan war for my former clan FaDe
FSBenAD: That was a sad turn of events, matchup wise, how do you feel at the moment? pXAlan: I feel really good seeing that this was my first SEACL
FSBenAD: so you’re confident vs all races? pXAlan: no my ZvP is very weak and i am trying my best to make it better.
FSBenAD: is there a particular strategy you have fun doing or unit you love to use? pXAlan: well like every zerg mutas are the fun to use. but I like to bane bust with terrans. too bad I didn’t get much play with mutas today
FSBenAD: definitely nothing better the a good baneling hit. Well best of luck in the upcoming games and thank you for your time pXAlan: thank you too. appreciate you interviewing me
Tetilla Gaming vs Fusion Slugs
TGDarthTesla started for Tetilla, facing FSDescent in a PvZ. TGDarthTesla went for a gas before pool into expand, while FSDescent did a pretty standard FFE. It was a pretty passive game, with TGDarthTesla going for a roach/hydra army and FSDescent chosing to go gateway/robo, with immortals and collossi. Unfortunately 2 mistakes cost FSDescent, no thermal lance and then moving his army into the engagement, with many units going down before they started firing and gave TGDarthTesla the win.
FSWolfbomb was next up for a ZvZ and both did a pool into hatch opening. FSWolfbomb tried to put some ling pressure on but he lost the engagement and didnt build up behind it and TGDarthTesla sent his own lings and did some massive damage. From there the game was pretty much done and once the roach/hydra army was complete, TGDarthTesla took the game. FSBreaker was next up for another PvZ and the first 10 mins was almost identical. Early expands, into Roach/Hydra for Zerg. FSBreaker though went for a 2 base gateway all in, full of sentries, but it was no match for the roach/hydra army and made it 3-0 to Tetilla.
FSNeiloGD was the ace for Fusion Slugs and gave us a TvZ. An early expand from the zerg was countered by a 3 rax from the terran. TGDarthTesla saw it coming and had a baneling nest up and enough lists to defend it. Both players macro'd up and eventually a bio, medivac tank push came from FSNeiloGD, which TGDarthTesla was able to hold off pretty easily with Ling/Bling/Muta. This let the zerg take a 4th and the advantage was too much as TGDarthTesla wore down FSNeiloGD and take the all kill and win for Tetilla. We had a quick chat with TGDarthTesla.
FSBenAD: So you just all-killed the fusion slugs, how do you feel? TGDarthTesla: Much better than before the games started lol FSBenAD: So you were nervous going into to today even though you played last week? TGDarthTesla: Yeah defs, especially since I chocked last week. I felt a lot better after a couple of games lol FSBenAD: The 4 gate yes, well you definitely put on a good show tonight. You played each matchup, what do you feel your best is TGDarthTesla: Um defs ZvT, I fear the 4gate immensely FSBenAD: you have a love of hydras too, it’s refreshing to see TGDarthTesla: Haha yeah Hydra's are my love, I train a lot with Nastybutla for ZvP and only hydras seem to get my close to beating him FSBenAD: Thankyou for your time TGDarthTesla: Thank you. Look forward to playing you guys again
Team AxiS vs Meta Game Gods
Our starting game saw a PvT with mGGPhilosopher vs AxSWhiteboy. AxSWhiteboy opened with a 3 rax pressure, but was held off well by the 3 gate robo response from mGGPhilosopher. AxSWhiteboy followed this up with an expansion, where as the protoss decided for a one base all in with immortals and hit before the bunkers could come up. This brought in AxSDuSt for another PvT. The game had a very similar flow, 3 rax pressure from the terran (this time AxSDuSt) and 3 gate robo defence. The difference in this game is that after the failed push, AxSDuSt went for a heavy maraduer army which both quickly destroyed the push from mGGPhilosopher, but then went accross the map and cleaned up the Protoss base.
Next up for mGG was Ghost, which meant yes another PvT! And another 3 rax push held off by a robo and a few gates. Both players then expanded and had small engagements whilst both trying to get up their tech path, the terran to medivacs and vikings, the protoss to collossi. A huge engagement went down at the protoss base, with a big drop in the main and a small force attacking the natural, but some nice forcefields kept a collossi alive and helped the protoss get a good supply lead. We then saw carriers and a mothership in a PvT, which the Terran scouted and went mass Thor.. The vortex and big supply lead was too much though which gave Ghost the game.
With AxiS one player short, they threw out their ace pinealan for a PvP. Pinealan did a 3 gate expand where as Ghost was very defensive and built a lot of sentries. This meant he was safe from the 3 gate pressure, but was economically behind. Pinealan looked in control but made two crucial mistakes. He didnt react fast enough to the DTs killing his tech and at the same time didnt kill the rocks up to the natural so got his units all bunched and despite having a good army lead, lost his whole army in the attack and coudlnt recover. Due to no 4th player, this meant mGG won 4-1! I talked to Ghost after his crazy wins.
FSBenAD: so you won 2 games today and sealed the win for mGG, how do you feel Ghost: hahaha good but im shaking. lol the nerves i got. i knew i was soooo far behind that last game i was sure i was gonna lose. but im happy i won. FSBenAD: It’s a common thing, playing in the SEACL is a big pressure test. You mention the last game, what was your plan? Ghost: well normally im dead by the 6-9 min mark by 4gates. im verrrrry weak at early games. so the plan was to stay alive long nuff to get into the late game where i normally play very well. as my bro's says "A move, good unit". :P coli and sentries using ff backed by stalkers with a little dt harras that’s my late game PvP games. FSBenAD: it is a very strong build in PvP, no matter what level. Besides PvP how do you feel about the other matchups? Ghost: im good against terran because normally i storm then i use coli to burn them up backed with stalkers. but zerg….. lets just say i have a deep passion against them FSBenAD: I heard you've only been playing a few weeks.. What has been the biggest help in you getting good so quick? Ghost: Alpha, with out a doubt. I tried a long time ago against computers. Died every game. Every game. But with alpha behind me coaching me for 3 days straight then on and off. FSBenAD: Has he taught you the nexus first in PvP :P Ghost: lol not quite. Only godly ppl can pull that off >.< FSBenAD: Haha thankyou for your time Ghost and good luck in the next weeks Ghost: thanks
Team Night v Trick or Treat
Unfortunately there was no stream and ToT didnt give me a player to interview.. So all we know is that ToT won 4-1, with a walkover in the first game as ToT's started did not show and then TopTerran all killed, showing he will be a threat!
Table
After two rounds we see Tetilla Gaming as the only team with maximum points following their whitewash victory over the Fusion Slugs. mGG is the only other team with 2 wins however with 3 points for a major win and 0 for a major loss, a lot can change quickly, especially with a double round coming up!
