The 'Promotions' section below forms part of the rules, and must be read and adhered to.
Teams must play only players listed on their submitted rosters.
Teams must be ready to play their first game at the scheduled time. Not showing up or being later than 15 minutes will result in forfeit.
If a submitted starting player does not show up or is more than 15 mins late, the affected team will start 1-0 down. The specified starting map will still be used.
Team captains must submit the name of their starting player to the admins 24 hours before the match time. Teams failing to do this will start the match 1-0 down. The non-submitting team must still start with a bronze or silver player if they have one. Their opposing captain also has the right to change their starting player after seeing who the non-submitting team has chosen.
Where possible, starting players should be Bronze or Silver. If you are unable to start with a Bronze or Silver player, the opposing captain will be informed so that they may sufficiently prepare (opposing captains may adjust their starting player if needed).
Players must be active on ladder during the league, to ensure they are placed in the correct tier for their skill level. 'Active' will be defined as playing AT LEAST 8 legitimate ladder games per week.
Teams may add three players to their roster during the league (allowable roster changes).
Replacement of players who move up due to promotion is not counted towards your allowable roster changes (ie, two players reach diamond and move up to Tier 4, and you have 3 new bronze players you wish to add. Only one of those players will be counted as a roster change, the others will be replacements.)
Captains wishing to add players to their roster must submit the players' details to admins at least 24 hours before a match. New players will not be approved on the day of a match.
Team captains are advised to check the opposition's players against the submitted line-up to ensure they are the correct rank and race.
Players must play as the race submitted in the line-up, ie. their ladder race. Players may only race switch if they have laddered their new race long enough that the new race is listed as ladder race on their in-game profile.
Admins, casters and team managers (captains) are always allowed to observe games. No other spectators will be allowed. Starting a game with other spectators present is a cause for restarting the game.
BM will NOT be tolerated. Players will get one warning, and then be disqualified from the league. Captains, please remind your players of this.
Match days/times may be rearranged if need be. Captains must discuss this AT LEAST 24 hours in advance of the default match time, and the captain proposing the change must give at least two alternative days/times when they will be available to play the match.
Rearranged matches must be played within the dates given below in the Results section.
Admins must be informed of any matches that have been rearranged.
Teams who are not able to come to an agreement must contact admins. Matches that are not played may be awarded to one team or the other, or given a 'no result', depending on the circumstances. This is at the admins' discretion.
Admins, casters and team managers are always allowed to spectate games. They are the only ones allowed to spectate.
If a player disconnects before 2.00 game time, the game MUST be replayed.
If a player disconnects between 2.00 and 9.59 game time, the game can be replayed if the other player agrees.
If a player disconnects after 10.00 game time, the game will NOT be replayed and will be counted as a loss. Blame your internet connection, not the admins.
If a player disconnects, either during a game or between games, the managers must wait a minimum of 10 minutes for the player to reconnect. If the player's manager cannot contact them by another means, the game will then be forfeited, and the match will proceed as if the disconnected player had lost a game.
This Tier of the league is for players of Bronze, Silver and Gold skill levels.
Team captains must notify admins of any player promotions IMMEDIATELY. A player who's rank is incorrectly listed will not be allowed to play.
Players promoted to Platinum may continue to play in this tier.
Players promoted to Diamond must move up into a Tier 4 team.
At the approximate halfway point of the league, the admins will assess the teams, and if needed, will ask that Platinum players be moved up into Tier 4.
Teams who lose players due to promotions may add new players to their line-ups. These additions must be approved by admins with at least 24 hours notice before a match, and must be Bronze, Silver or Gold players. Teams will be given notice if players are to be moved up, so that they have time to find replacements.
Replacing players lost due to promotions will not count towards your allowable roster changes.
Once players start to be promoted to Platinum, only two Platinum players may be used per match. If your team composition does not allow this, please speak to an admin.
Platinum players may not be used as starting players.
My player is platinum, but he's really only at a gold skill level. Can I add him to my team?
No.
It's 30 mins before the match, I really need to add another player to the roster, will you approve them to play?
No. Please give admins at least 24 hours notice before a match if you wish to add a player.
My team has lost 2 players this week because of promotions. Can I add two new players? Will they count towards my allowable roster changes?
Yes, as long as you adhere to the rules and give the admins 24 hours notice before a match of your new additions. Replacing players lost because of promotions will not count towards your allowable roster changes.
The prize for Tier 5 will be a professionally designed clan logo, and the love and adoration of all.

Week 1 Preview
It has been almost a year since the last SEACL started and most of the star players from the last Tier 5 season have moved on to higher divisions. A new generation of BSG players are here now though, ready to give their all for their clan over the next 7 weeks and find one true champion!
We have 9 clans taking part this year with some newcomers to SEACL joined by many old hands. Last season the final match never happened, with Terror Australis and the Perth Penguins set to fight it out. Both teams are absent this season from Tier 5, so a new champion will be crowned!
Tetilla Gaming vs Quod Erat Demonstrandum
In one corner we have Tetilla Gaming, a side we don't know a great deal about. They have only entered a Tier 5 side and haven’t taken part in the SEACL before. Their roster is only six players which means we will definitely get to know their players over the course of the SEACL. Their only Terran is Bronze, so it will be up to their Zerg and Protoss players to get them home.
Their opponents are QED, who entered two Tier 5 teams last SEACL, with both teams having successful campaigns with 4th and 6th. This time they are just one team and a team to watch out for with many deadly players. Goste was one of their BSG stars in the recent FSCT and will probably be a key player to stop if Tetilla want to win this.
Team AxiS vs Time of Rising
New clan AxiS will be looking to use the SEACL to announce their big arrival on the SEA Clan stage. Their team features mostly terrans and protoss, however their lone zerg Zen is gold and will probably be a big threat with teams focusing on beating the other two races. Their other two golds are both protoss and should provide a challenge to any team.
However their opponents aren't just any team, they are one of the biggest clans in all of SEA. Time of Rising have been making a splash lately with the pro team and other developments, but their BSG form hasn't been the greatest. They were knocked out in the semi-finals of the 4 team Esports SG BSG Cup and also lost to mGG in a close 4-5 clan war. ToRBobby was a strong performer for them in the FSCT and with everyone’s favourite panda, will form a two man Terran hit squad. The loss of Suipr to platinum might expose a weakness in their line-up though.
Team Night v Fusion Slugs
These two teams have a friendly rivalry, having had many clan wars and fighting it out in the FSCT final. This is Team Nights first SEACL and they come in with a real bare bones lineup of just five players. All of their BSG stars from the FSCT have now hit Platinum or above, so it’s a very new looking Team Night side. With no terrans and their top players being all protoss, it will be up to how their opponents play against Protoss.
The Fusion Slugs BSG side has likewise seen most of their BSG stars hit Platinum, after taking out the FSCT. The Fusion Slugs finished 7th last SEACL, in their debut as a clan. This time they don’t have the excuse of being the new kids and a much higher finish is expected. With golds of each race, they may be a difficult side to prepare for, however with only four players required depth means nothing if they don’t find the ace to finish a side off. The experienced trio of Quackpork, NeiloGD and Excel are probably the keys.
Trick or Treat v Meta Game Gods
Chinese clan Trick or Treat should provide some tough competition for all other clans in every tier, and Tier 5 is no exception. They feature the biggest squad of the all the sides and don’t have a single bronze in sight. Oddly though that huge roster includes just one silver zerg and thus opposition teams just have to deal with the other two races to take down this juggernaut of a clan. I think they may be one of the favourites to take this out.
They are probably playing one of the other major favourites for the Tier 5 title. mGG took 2nd in the recent Esports SG BSG Cup, falling to OS who aren’t present. They have had recent BSG wins in clan wars over ToR and have gone on a big BSG initiative. They have golds of each race and very experienced members guiding them. The big question is, can they cover the loss of DrGoose and LtNELLTRAIN who were both key factors in many of their recent BSG results.
BYE - Eternal eSports
Fear not ETL, you are not left out of this preview! Yet another side making their SEACL debut this season, but they have to wait just one more week to get started in Tier 5. And most clans are probably happy about this as ETL's line-up also looks strong. A good mix of golds will make them hard to prepare for and they get a free week to watch and see how the other teams go. The only thing going against ETL, is that in recent clan wars involving BSGs, they have only used one gold each time. Playing for your clan adds a lot of pressure, and nerves may well play a factor.
Well, I'm not having anything to do with organising the mGG teams, but probably a good general rule!
Don't forget, we'll need your starting players by Wednesday evening (8pm Syd time) at the latest, and I will be strict on making you start 1-0 down if you miss the deadline! I'll also remind all the captains on the skype chat, so no excuses
On behalf of the ToT management,I would like to sincerely appologise for SentryKing's bad manner in the last set of this week's tier 5 match against mGG. Also sorry to admin Asrathiel about the conflicts due to misunderstanding.
ToT has made a discipline decision to delete SentryKing off the tier 5 line-up for all future matches. He now no longer represents as a member of ToT and will not participate in any future games of ToT.
ToT is a team which focuses on presenting fair and entertaining games to starcraft 2 fans regardless of the level of players.Any behaviour such as Sentryking's is not going to be torlorated by ToT.

Week 1 Review
Wait you thought you were just going to get previews... Oh no, that's not how we do Tier 5! In the great tradition of Volition, I bring you the review of week 1! Our first four games were completed and many were very very close affairs...
As a note: Thankyou to all the streamers, which allowed me to actually watch the games and thus give you a decent review!
Tetilla Gaming vs Quod Erat Demonstrandum
This match started with a ZvZ where both players opened similarly with QEDKdogs doing some early ling pressure and droning behind it. However TGogswag built lings in response and kept building lings and overwhelmed the QED Zerg. Next up for QED was DGImpstar in a PvZ, with pretty standard early expo openings from both. DGImpstar transitioned into a sentry immortal attack where as TGogswag was getting ready for a 2base roach/baneling. However DGImpstar hit first and was able to kill the zerg army with some good forcefields.
This brought out TGDarthTesla for another PvZ. DGImpstar decided to go old school and do a 4 gate, TGDarthTesla sensed danger and started getting roaches off his 2 base, but didn’t have them up in time and QED Took a 2-1 lead. Finally a Terran took to the field with TGBoahwar playing and starting with a gasless expand. DGImpstar went for a HT/Storm rush into a delayed expansion. The first storm was spot on, but the second storm slightly misplaced and thus the attack was held off. After that point the Terran advantage was too strong and even some great storms later couldn't stop TGBoahwar from taking the games.
Another PvT followed, with QEDDeNile out for QED. TGBoahwar did another gasless expand, with QEDDeNile doing a 1 gate robo expand into colossi. TGBoahwar moved out around 10min with a bio ball with stim, +1 and 2 medivacs. QEDDeNile missed the forcefields, lost his colossi and couldn’t come back from that loss. QED's ace player was Goste which meant we had our first TvT. And we had gasless expands from both, but where Goste went to expand and a drop, TGBoahwar went for the kill and caught Goste by surprise. This gave TGBoahwar a huge lead which he never threw away and secured the 4-2 win for Tetilla Gaming.
Team AxiS vs Time of Rising
DuSt started for AxiS and Lardols for ToR, meaning a TvT on ohana. Dust opened two port banshee, with 6 banshees, where as Lardols went for a few rax, starport before expand. Lardols held off the early hellion push, but the mass banshees killed the natural. DuSt transitioned into battlecruisers and took the 2nd and 3rd base and the 3/3 marines from Lardols couldn’t hold off the hellion / air force. ToRDekid was next up for ToR, giving us a TvZ. Dekid did a quick 3 base, vs a 3 rax opening. Dekid saw it coming and got enough lings and spine crawlers up to hold off it and then transitioned into a muta ball, with ling and baneling, which was too much for DuSt.
DarkPhoenix was next up for AxiS, giving us a PvZ. DarkPhoenix did a 3 gate with proxy robo opening, fully walling off his main. By the time Dekid knew something odd was going on it was too late and didn’t have enough to hold off the two immortal push. ToRTinyTeddy was up next in a PvP on whirlwind. It was a very quick game, with a DT rush from DarkPhoenix managing to snipe the pylons powering the robo just before the observer got out.
ToRDizz was the ace for ToR. DarkPhoenix did a 4 gate, with 3 gateways in his own third to try and hide it. ToRDizz spotted them just in time and held off the 4 gate. DarkPhoenix expanded and went DTs behind it. ToRDizz decided to try and take out the 3 vulnerable gateways and looked like he might just do it but DarkPhoenix engaged and half of ToRDizz army was still attacking the gateways. That gave DarkPhoenix a big lead and the following gateway archon attack was too strong and gave AxiS the 4-1 win.
Team Night v Fusion Slugs
TNZero and FSDarkNemesis opened for their teams in this match, meaning a TvZ. TNZero did a 2 base ling/bling where as FSDarkNemesis did a 4 +1/combat shield. He didn’t move out too early which saved FSDarkNemesis from being caught on the map, but with no bunker the banelings broke down the front door and lings spewed into the main to take game one. FSQleXx was next for Fusion Slugs, in a PvZ. TNZero went for a 2 base roach/ling all in, with no workers at his natural. QleXx was going immortal sentry, so just was able to hold it with forcefields and a worker pull. TNZero was determined to keep the pressure on and didn’t drone up, but QleXx was too far ahead now and made it 1-1.
TNnyX was up next and we had a two base vs two base match. Another sentry immortal all in from QleXx was seen by TNnyX, but late zergling speed and being supplied blocked at a bad time, meant the protoss was able to setup forward pylons and not use the forcefields until QleXx got to the base and make it 2-1 for FS. TNrising was next and made it a PvP. A delayed 4 gate from QleXx was pushed back well by TNrising, who transitioned into colossi faster, with QleXx overcommitted on sentries and the engagement was very one sided and made it 2-2. FSNeiloGD was next up for FS and did a classic 3 rax, stim/concussive shield timing vs a 2 rax/robo expand. The push kills the natural of the protoss and FSNeiloGD expanded behind it. TNrising was able to get his natural back up, but drops and two pronged attacks gave the Terran more and more of a lead which gave FS the game.
TNSkywolve was the ace for Team Night, giving us another PvT. Both players did very quick expands with FSNeiloGD going double tank production. TNSkywolve took advantage of this to get a quicker third and tech'd to chargelot / storm and held off the marine tank push. FSNeiloGD was so far behind now and TNSkywolve made it 3-3, into an ace match! FSBreaker was the ace for the Fusion Slugs, giving us a PvP ace match. FSBreaker went for a 3 gate robo into an expand, where as TNSkywolve did similar but without the expand which meant an extra immortal. TNSkywolve caught some units on the map and that and the extra immortal gave him and Team Night the 4-3 win.
Trick or Treat v Meta Game Gods
We started with a TvT between PizzerToT and mGGPow. Both went for quick expands and then build up armies with no real engagements for the first 20 mins until both players near maxed and the bio/tank army of mGGpow managed to catch Pizzer's army without any tank support and give mGG game one. Blanka was next for ToT, for a PvT. And this was the craziest game of the round. Both early expanded, with Blanka going for a hidden 3rd expo. mGGPow went for two base push and both traded armies, with a slight advantage to the terran. Both threw down bases to the 3rds, giving the protoss a one base lead. mGGPow pushed again right before storm finished and smashed the army and killed the main and natural. He left the third alive though, so unknowingly left the protoss on 2 bases. mGGPow taking a 4th but not choosing to attack. Blanka took two more bases and evening the bases to 4-4 each. mGGPow killed two of the bases again, but yet again not finishing the other bases and Blanka remade more bases and army. lots of stim made the bio ball health low, which storms took advantage of whilst DT harass stopped the economy. This kept repeating and mGGPow decided he had enough and Blanka took the game.
mGGSneak was next up and we had two early expands in a PvP! Blanka decided to go for double proxy stargate with a mass void ray build up. mGGSneak tried a double immortal warp prism drop but the cannons setup as home by Blanka deflected that. The void rays then proved way too strong and gave ToT a 2-1 lead. Next up for mGG was Rezyn and another TvP. Blanka opened with a forge fast expand and rezyn responded with a hellion drop with an expand. The hellions did a lot of damage. It was eventually cleaned up and Blanka went for another hidden expand. Rezyn followed up with a bio attack however and didn’t let blanka get back into the game, taking out the main, then the natural, then ran around and find the ninja expand and levelled the series 2-2.
TopTerran was next for ToT and both went for 1/1/1 openings. Rezyn's scan saw enough to know early cloaked banshee and it didn’t do much damage. TopTerran went into a double expand vs just a single expand. The economic advantage started to really pay off, with an elevator play into the main doing enough damage for the subsequent pushes to win the game for ToT. This brought out the ace for mGG, mGGEmperor a random player, spawning as Protoss. A 3 stalker push into expand, was countered by a double expand from TopTerran, with one being in an unusual spot. mGGEmperor didn’t spot it and took a 3rd at the same time TopTerran took a 4th (at the 3rd base location). mGGEmperor took out the third but lost all the colossi. TopTerran came back and almost won the game but two colossi in the base held off the push. Even with the economic lead, the addition of archons to the protoss army was too strong for the terran in a very close game.
So down to another ace match, with SentryKing being the ace for ToT and deciding to 6 scv rush but mGGEmperor held it easily, to end a really crazy series and giving mGG a 4-3 win!
How do you feel about bringing your team the victory?
I really am so happy that I was able to win it for my team against QED, it definitely is exhilarating to play against players in a tournament environment rather than just on the ladder.
The team lost 2 games in a row against QED before you came out.
Whilst my teammates were playing those games I spent that time practicing in a custom game, making sure my build order was spot on. Id like to say that my confidence was overflowing when I went into the first game and I think it showed that in my performance.
Were you expecting to take on both DeNile and Goste?
Those two are the best players so I knew that if the match went on to the final couple of games that I would end up facing them. I had confidence in Ogswag hyung and Darthtesla hyung and their progress whilst we were practicing, I thought that I wouldn’t be playing at all. But my recent form has been so good lately that I didn't feel like I could lose.
So you're doing well in practices?
I have balanced out all three matches so I have a lot of confidence.
I take my practicing very seriously, both against my team mates and on the ladder, id like to think im making progress.
How do you feel about the next match against Fusion Slugs?
I think it will be a close match. Fusion Slugs are definitely a good team but I'm confident my teammates can take them out. TG is aiming for the top and I think we are on a good path.
Anything else you would like to say?
I'd like to thank GwaiLo hyung, Nastybutla hyung and Christofetus hyung for helping me practice for my games today. I'd also like to thank all my fans for cheering for me. I'll try my best to show good results.
