All matches will be played out in GSTL format (also known as all-kill or WinnersLeague format), in which four players from each team play best-of-one matches until one team has no players remaining. The winner of the previous game remains to play the next match against an opponent chosen by the other captain.
The tournament structure will involve a round-robin league stage made up of two groups each with 6 players, and a playoff stage for the elimination finals. Round Robin stages will involve 4-player teams (Bo7) and playoffs will involve 5-player teams (Bo9).
On the play day team managers or captains will meet up in chat channel BSGCL on Battle.net SEA and tell the admin the first player they send out from their roster on the starting map for that week (See Results and Standings for groups, maps and fixtures).
Ladder points are awarded for wins during the group stage portion of the event.
Win: 3 points
Lose: 0 points
Forfeit: -1 point
Rules
20 minute walkover time.
Minimum of 3 players present or the team forfeits.
3 subsitutions per team for the season.
Playoffs will constitute the top 3 teams from each group in an elimination bracket. The top seed from each group will be seeded into the semi-finals, while 2nd will play 3rd place in the opposite group for the right to play in the semis (winner of 2nd Group A vs 3rd Group B will play 1st Group B).
You must be ready to play your first game at the scheduled time. Not showing up or being later than 15 minutes will result in your forfeit.
You will save replays in case of disputes.
You agree to be patient and considerate should for the duration of the event should any unforeseen difficulties arise, and acknowledge that the supervising administrator designated to your bracket has full authority over decisions pertaining to the game and may enforce the rules at his or her discrepancy.
Tournament administrators are free to join any game that they see fit. You are not to refuse entry to a caster or commentator and failure to do so may result in disqualification.
You agree that by entering this tournament that you will not publicly slader or reproach any of the staff or sponsors associated with this tournament on any public medium.
There are to be no spectators of any kind except the aforementioned administrators and the casters.
You may not include players based outside of Southeast Asia or Oceania in your team unless an admin grants special consideration.
You must own your own legal copies of StarCraft II for the SEA server.
If a player is promoted outside of Bronze, Silver or Gold once the season starts they may continue to play until the end of the season.
Maps will be sourced from the Battle.net ladder and competitive maps (ESL, MLG, GSL, etc.)
Teams failing to contact their opponent's manager or agree on a designated play time will be designated a time by an admin. Failure to show at this time will result in a forfeit.
So far the head admins are Maynarde#489, ToRSynzita#319 and TAEdarus#427 but more may be announced.
So far streaming of games is based on volunteers and not every round or match is guaranteed a stream.
The prize is a clan logo thanks to Whipbot. Once the finalists are determined from league play it is the clan leader's responsibility to discuss creative decisions with myself or Whipbot regarding their possible clan logo.
Group A will play on Thursdays at the default time of 8PM AEST unless negotiated otherwise between clan managers.
Group B will play on Fridays at the default time of 8PM AEST unless negotiated otherwise between clan managers.
If the times above are not suitable for the teams involved and they cannot negotiate another time, the wildcard time of Saturdays at 8:00PM AEST will be used. Failure to show up at this time will result in a forfeit loss. It is the responsibility of the team managers or captains to make a post in this thread regarding whether they can make the time, and should be done so prior to 24 hours before the clan war is scheduled.
The first week of play will begin on the 28th-30th of July.
Prize
The winning team gets a custom clan logo thanks to TCPmagik!

Updated a list of clan managers in the 2nd post to make scheduling your games easier. This part might be tricky for those of you without much experience with competitive games but if you find it's hard to get in touch or organise a time just speak up and someone can help you out!
I will be very happy if this provides not only a chance for you BSG players to play in a team format and gain valuable experience, but for the BSG admins to learn the ropes of what competing in a league is all about and improve as a manager!

By substitutions, do you mean between the roster and the playing list, or new players brought into the roster?
Yes maps are picked by the losing team but if this causes too many delays while players make up their mind it might be just changed to a pre-set order throughout the season. No map can be played twice in a match.
Substitutions means new players brought in to the roster to replace inactive players or to represent new recruits.

I have one concern/question about this
As the season goes on or even already you'll probably get people who a gold but platinum level or maybe can do one build like diamond level
The OP mentioned that players who get promoted can remain for the season but then must bounce - thats correct yah?
How are accusations of smurfing going to be handled? I can see a lot of players being unjustly accused of not belonging in a BSG but sure a few will be justified. How will you sift out those who prepared for the competition as opposed to laddering and thus might have a killer banshee rush or 4 gate to those who are actually diamond or higher using a BSG account?

People promoted to platinum mid-season can remain but if they get to diamond they have to be replaced.
There shouldn't be any more smurfing in this tournament as compared to any other tournament (bar Dox's Cup). Also, some of the guys who are involved in the BSG tournaments will be involved in casting or administration and they are going to know who a lot of the top players are.

speaking of casting I would love to do some whether co-casting or on my own (should I have the time)
Possible or will that be stepping on the feet of the established casters?

Well System should be casting Fridays so if you're free for the Thursday or Saturday games a 2nd caster would be welcome

Just so I'm 100% on this (I know this might be getting repetitive, sorry), if I were to promote to plat in my placement game, I would still be able to play - regardless of when Blizz decides to end the season?
IE. leagues NOW on SEA are the leagues used to decide eligibility.

Yes, scroll up and read the thread please namely deL's post (number 8).
If you're promoted to plat in placement; all good. If you're promoted to diamond; you're out. That's how I understand it.
If you wanna help cast I dont mind
Also, if all the Managers for the teams want to add me on Skype, after your games I would like to do a Interview and talk over how it played out and such over stream for added awesomeness!
