I am currently a high school Student in Tennessee, America. That means that I don't have much time to play Starcraft 2 compared to other adults. However, I managed to get from bronze to platinum in 5 months, despite the fact that I couldn't play often. How did I do this? I received the coaching of a wonderful person, Robert Smithson, otherwise known as [ETL]DroneProbe or Balimaar. He is on the United States Server, and I first met him by coincidence. Back then, I was bronze, and my win rate was less than 30 percent. The only thing I could do was cheese, because I didn't know how to do anything else. Therefore, I was executing poor cheese rushes like one base marine rush at 10 minutes, reaper rush at 20 minutes, and stuff like that. Even the people in Bronze were able to defy my cheese. Then, I met Balimaar. I saw that he was unranked, and therefore I thought that he was less than bronze. I came at him with a 5 minute marine-scv rush, but he defied me so easily. After the game, he offered some tips, but I couldn't understand them because I was so primitive in Starcraft 2. He offered to give me some coaching, and I accepted gratefully. I was expecting some simple tips, but he went out of his way to teach me Starcraft 2. We started with skype, which was surprising as I was a complete stranger he just met. He explained the basics of Starcraft better than anyone I knew, and soon enough, I was getting flying results. The coaching was just legendary. In 3 sessions, I was already in silver. He is the best teacher I've ever met, and I have to thank him for getting me into platinum. Thank you, Balimaar!
