What are the prizes for all the comps, am keen on a few however cant find what the prizes are if you could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry but with an entrance price of 35-40 dollars. I'll definitely not be going (especially since its BOYC at that price). Good luck with the event. but yeah that entrance fee I imagine is wayyyyy too high for many people.

Respawn LAN was $35 and that ran this weekend perfectly fine and is also BYOC. If you think the price is too high for a > 24 hour LAN than that's your opinion. Not to mention there doesn't appear to be individual entry fees for the competitions.

" Then upon entry you have the option to pay for entry to the tournament you wish to enter this money is then pooled and given to the top the teams at a ratio of 60%/30%/10% of the pool for the respective teams. "
Above entrance there is a sign up cost.
Most LANs in Brisbane in the past have cost 15-25 dollars. This includes LANSmash (most regular and cheapest), InternetCity (great quality venue all comps provided) GGF Lan, and hell even ACL is cheaper. If I was convinced this would be at the same level of quality as ACL then I might consider it. but yeah 40 dollars just to enter then an extra fee on top for sign up. is wayy to steep a price for me and many others.

I didn't see that part Alpha, but would you enter a tournament you didn't expect to win? Or do you enter tournaments for fun, in which case what is the issue of increasing the prize pool for the winner? Still it's funny seeing the responses to this thread compared to the Respawn one. Is Queensland really that broke? A large number of Respawn's participants are uni students and this EnduranceLAN is only $1.33/hour ($1.16 if prepay) and Respawn was actually more expensive assuming you prepay (30 hours vs 29 hours both being $35).
Leave the killing of esports to me guys

Can't say I've ever entered a LAN expecting to win or even place high. I go for fun. As I assume most people would since there being a fairly large skill gap between the top Brisbane players and the next level down.
And personally I'm not interested in going for the 24 hour bit. Just me, but I would go to the lan for the tournament, and a good chance to hang out with the Brisbane guys but wouldnt want to stay for the full 24 hours or what ever it is. So the cost per hour thing doesnt really do much for me. I look at it as 40+ dollars for a starcraft tournament. And that is too expensive for me. If its not too expensive for others then sure let them go. But for me personally I would only spend that sort of money for (pro group) ACL entrance fees. And thats cause I expect a very high quality from ACL then I do from other LANS.

Holy Negativity batman! Code: SCII and the entranced price will drop to 25 for the whole lan, and 20 for any other amount of time at the LAN.

SCII may not be a kitty/cash prize event, and if it is, we will advise and include it in the entry fee. (usually $10)
Most lans in brisbane dont run for 24+ hours straight. It's not just a matter of "lets run for longer" a lot more prep, and gear and time and insurance and all sort of other factors come into play.

So just to clarify, if I only want to play the starcraft tournament, what times would be expected and how much entry would I need to pay. Thanks in advance!
