The obvious most important thing that happened this week was WCS Challenger League. NXZ succeeded in doing what many had hoped for, but most considered impossible. He defeated the heavily favoured PiG 3-2 in a nail biting series. NXZ's preparation clearly paid off as he often got the lead purely through his choice of build order. Combine that with some amazing micro, and PiG not playing his best, and you have a all the materials from an upset. Maynarde's shouts of passion resonated through all the viewers, as they watched the greatest upset in the history of StarCraft 2 in SEA unfold before their very eyes.
Blysk was a less successful underdog, as he was convincingly defeated 0-3 by iaguz. Blysk was not totally outclassed and certainly had some chances to make great strides in game vs his favoured opponent, but failed to capitalize on opportunity and was ultimately defeated. iaguz and NXZ have the uphill battle of taking on some of the international scene's finest. PiG managed to make Ro16 last season, and iaguz came very close. Can iaguz do it this time, and if NXZ defeated PiG, can the ultimate underdog, the Heartbreak Kid, possibly make Ro16 happen against all odds?
