listing people youve beaten on ladder or listing tournaments youve done well in, is a sign of arrogance lol. Its pointless boasting done in a desperate attempt to gain peoples attention, admiration and respect. The humble wouldn't even need to say anything, and if they are good, people will naturally notice them and give them their respect.
"Hey im Dragonite. aka Samuel Gibbins. Moving from Team Ascension to Dynasty gaming. im honoured that you would pick me for this spot and feel privileged to be able to take part in the scene. Its a massive jump from where I was to where I am now. and I cant wait to see what comes next."
Good thing this was his portion of the post then. If you have a problem with how Ice hyped him up take it up with Ice don't just shit talk the new guy.

It's literally an announcement thread for the player. what do you want them to right?
"Here's dragonite, he did shit at his first lan and he doesn't look like he'll be winning anything soon, we picked him up as a joke and we hope you guys laugh at him as much as we do!"
No ******* idea why people are getting so angry about this.
lmfao you two dont seem to realise that im not calling Ice arrogant, i was using Frustrations statement as a reference to call Dragonite arrogant if this was what he was really like and said. It was also a response to Wallys statement of where he compared listing people youve beaten on ladder to listing tournaments youve done well in, saying it isnt arrogant when it is a sign of it.
Quote: and also said he could easily beat Kingkong and many other good players and was very cocky for no reason at all, since it was his first lan you would expect him to be more polite and understanding that he should not do well.

ah well good stuff Jamie it's another number to the team that wasn't there previously so really it's just a plus more then anything.
good luck to you dragonite and enjoy your time with the dyn boys.
Both sides have legitimate points, there are no bad guys here.
Welcome to the scene, hope over the next few weeks you find out more and learn about your standing in the scene. My prediction is you'll be a fair whack surprised to find out you're not even a Top 3 Protoss in SEA...unless you are, but I don't think you are. Let's find out, very exciting!

I'm going to try to be as offensive as possible. Well, just annoying really.
(BAHAHAHA "FULLMETAL" AND "PRO" WITHIN THE SAME BREATH. Omg.)
This thread is great, Wally is right over Rival...you are SUPPOSED TO HYPE UP YOUR PLAYER ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE RELATIVELY NEW TO THE SCENE.
But rofl at his ostensible expectations at Sydney.
EDIT: @Rival - Ice is the only one who hypes him up by listing players wins etc., then Dragonite clears up an inconsistency pointed out by rize, which could not in any world be considered bragging...I do agree with you in practice, but Dragonite did not hype himself up in the way you appear to be claiming.
Hey dragonite mate, welcome to the scene I hope you do well, SEA scene can do with more Protoss. I hope you sign up for some more of the weekly comps so we can see what you can do...
You seem confident in yourself, while that can be taken as arrogant, it's a good mentality for someone wanting to do well in competitive gaming. Just don't underestimate your opposition and train hard.
thanks guys the following posts making me feel really welcome. awesome to be part of a team in the aussie scene. this is something ive been looking forward to for a long time
