I was there with 5 mates till shortly after bnet finals. A bo3 final for 5k was a bit of a let down.. I was there at like 3pm-4... there were just too many people and no seats. I think Mana Bar and Elysium should just merge to a licensed gaming lounge. That would be sick.. and it'd make future viewing events a pleasure.

The streams got up and running well before 2:30... I left around 4 but there was a good 20ish people there when I left and I know many more turned up after for the finals and they also watched the AoL there too.
What could they improve on for next time? Being super negative isnt the right attitude to have imo, its events like these that build up our scene and we should get behind them and help them set something up that works great!
Sorry.. me and my friends are still very bitter about it, organising a full day around it (even still going ahead with it after only 2 hours sleep and being coked out of our brains the night before).
To put it in terms you can compare with.. imagine WCG Sydney, you turned up were told its bo1 single elim all the way through. Dox stepped up and ran the event so it wasn't a trainwreck, blizz let him. This is what my mate tried to do, except he wasn't allowed. Imagine if blizz had never let Dox take over and you had to run through the event all bo1 s/e. How would you feel after?
Mana bar brisbane is a very small venue, can only fit around ~30 people if you want to be standing next to each other with no space to move. So theres a downfall that unfortunately cannot be fixed within the venue itself, you can't open up any outside area because there is none it falls straight onto the street with other venues outside it. So unless it's moved to a different venue I can't see how it would be suitable for a huge turnout for an event like this in the future (as it was there was ~10 seats to sit on).
I would love to see events like this workout in the future, could possibly follow Solis's suggestion and have Elysium hold it for a big event (place is big enough for ~100 people and heaps of seats).

Here's a pic from Melb, the venue snapped some but i took this with my phone to try and show both the people and the screens, but theres a lot more people to the right of the photo. This was during the FXO Korea KOTH. I Also had a chat with Shay about helping them organise another barcraft but for something like MLG, Keep an eye on that and any suggestions are welcome, it's just hard to do with their limited space.
@sAint i got there around 13:30-14:00 and it was on the TV's, biggest issue they had was the lack of decent seating other that it was fine.
@Benji there was a fair amount of turnover but there was around at least 20 at any one point. Lots of people started to arrive around 16:00 but they event finished so early they missed it. They loaded up gom.tv but i couldnt be bothered with the lag so i went home.

Man i'm sorry but that cannot be true, because as i stepped out the door of manabar i sent via iphone the msg saying DO NOT go there which by the time stamp on the forum is 14:00.
@Benji, don't get me wrong, I'll support the event and I'll go to another 'barcraft'... perhaps just not held at Manabar. The venue is just too small, it is essentially the size of my living room. Here in Brisbane they have a Netcafe (where BEST and WCG will be held) just down the road. To me, the event would have been better held there and then afterwards people went out to get drinks. IIRC, Elysium even lets you 'put your drinks in their fridge'. Also, drinks are like 7 dollars for a basic at Manabar and for any of their cocktails it is 15 dollars. We're gamers... not suckers <<
Also, Dox had to run WCG? I had no idea. WCG quals are next weekend for brisbane aren't they? Maybe I should show up just in case they need help with organising the event.

Yeah WCG is this sunday! Dox will be coming up for it, but you should come along anyway!

@PoisoN I don't know if that was directed at me and my 'ignorance' or if you were kind-of agreeing with me. All I'm saying is that the event, whilst gaming related.. was not suited to the venue.
@saint, I'll definitely be coming along as a spectator. I'm not an Australian citizen so I won't be able to compete even for fun.. but I'll be lingering and asking for Protoss advice :P.
If I had to give feedback about the event, I'd suggest partnership with Elysium or moving it to a bigger venue. If neither can be arranged, at least get more seats.. sitting on the ground isn't fun :/
