As most of you would be aware, the Starcraft 2 scene in Adelaide has died. Frequency was a hero for our scene, always hosting Adelaide LANs, now it's time for others to step up. Therefore, I would like to organise another LAN sometime this year.
Originally I was looking at June long weekend, but as many people have stated that is before uni exams therefore we will be looking at sometime in either July or August/September. This thread is basically just to get some numbers of interest.
Will be held either at The Pad or Arena. We are aiming for a prize pool, with enough interest, of $500 minimum.
Post your interest here to help/play/cast and when you think is the best time (this includes you awesome interstate people who might be willing to make the trek) thanks guys.
if this is posted in wrong area, mod feel free to move it

very interested $500 would be good but it wouldn't even need to be that high.
Currently just a goal. Depends on turn out atm and costs.

That would have to be arranged/discussed if we have it at the pad.
Also side note, what are people's thoughts on having it on a Sunday. Up until august I have soccer on Saturdays so I can't run it on those days (unless I skip soccer which I can do if need be)

Just some 14 year old asian that is noob at sc2 :P
Definitely interested in future Adelaide lans. There was decreasing participation over time at frequency's lans, but given there hasn't been a lan in a long while now, it could have a decent turnout.
As everyone else has said, Arena is the best spot for lans. I've had bad experiences in the past at the Pad, and although its been fine for smaller events, I wouldn't recommend it for this size. Even to this day I hear mixed reviews about the service there, but its moreso the setup. In Arena, its easy to just casually walk around and talk to everyone while playing some games. At the pad, theres multiple floors which have a lot less space and are connected by pretty thin staircases. Not so good for large amounts of people (Unless its for a console based event, their ground floor is pretty well set up for that).
Adelaide lans are what made me push myself to get better at sc2, sometimes more than was even reasonable at the time. It'd be awesome to get them happening now and then like before, so it can motivate players to push themselves as a player like I have in the past.
I'll bring it up with Thanh, we were both pretty disappointed in the dwindling SC2 tournament participation, I really loved running them and it was always fun.
