Before I announce the winner, I think it is apt for me to explain how the winner was decided.
As you know this blog contest was organized just a few days ago, and I actually wanted to join it for fun, but then I saw nirvana's post:

What?!? Just got 'arrow-ed'. Rawr.
Threw up my hands, accepted my fate, I have to do it.
So first things first - how was I to pick a winner? I was rather busy, kinda lazy, so I thought oh heck, let me use a Random Number Generator and pick a winner since there's only 5 entries.
There we go. Who is #4 let's see...
Woa woa wait wait. I actually started reading some of the blogs, and some were good! The effort put into some of the blogs deserved way more effort on my part than just using RNG.
So I put on my thinking cap just like when I am trying to come up with new content for this site
AND.... I thought, how about I establish some judging criteria?
HANG ON. My thinking cap just gave me a zap and so I realized something was wrong. The criteria looked waaay too mediocre. I probably need to beef it up abit so it gets a more fair judging.
I consulted my Judging 101 manual and came up with a more comprehensive judging criteria for the winning blog entry:
Ok wait. Problem. For the more math-savvy among you, that clearly doesn't add up to 100%. Secondly, it is hella difficult to give a score upon a decimal. (Is it 3.05% for flair or only 3.02%?) Also, all the math was giving me a headache.
I decided to scrap the "objective" criteria (in quotes because as much as it's an objective measure, such dimensions have to be subjective in nature) as it was way too difficult.
A more straightforward, easier way, is to just use my subjective judgement and choose a winner. Something I should have done from the start. Sigh. What an idiot I am. "I meant the elephant from the other planet that's really bigger than the Moon! Those alien elephants are really huge!"
Now hang on. Something is just not right. If I was to base the winner entirely on my own judgement, people may complain about bias, I'll start getting more hate (You probably do after all this delaying I'm doing lololol), etc etc.
Personally, I try to avoid any interpersonal drama so I have to do something about this! How do I pick one person without making the rest hate me!
Think I need that thinking cap again.
I've got it now. Simple. I will grab a few other mods/admin of the site to be my co-judges, and simply get the averaged opinion and reach some sort of consensus. This way no one can accuse anyone of any bias!
I swear the winner is announced without any additional spoiler tags, but just before I say who it is, I have to say that the decision was virtually unanimous - This entry was the chosen #1 by 3 (out of 4) of the judges.
After much deliberation, the winner of the blog contest, as well as the D3 Beta Key is:

EscapisT!!!
Congrats Escapist! His blog about his Korean SC2 adventure can be found here.
The entire entry was engaging, well-written, full of pictures (videos even!), well-formatted, and is basically a prime example of a good blog - an interesting sharing of personal experience(s), thoughts and opinions.
We had some really good runner-ups as well, but unfortunately only one key to giveaway for this contest. Special mention must be given to fur, whose nostalgic SC1 blog was the judges' favourite before Escapist's entry suddenly came in and swept it. I'll be looking into any possibility of a consolation prize for him
Regardless, we hope you had fun writing a blog entry for this contest, and hope that you will continue to blog even without such an incentive! Thanks for joining the contest!
Stay tuned for (perhaps) more giveaways! (Don't take my word on this) (I like to use brackets alot)
(the formal term for brackets is 'parentheses')
