The Return of SEAcraft Weekly.
On the 18th of November (Wednesday) at 8pm AEDT/7pm AEST. SEAcraft Weekly will return. We will be, of course, using Legacy of the Void, which will officially be released on the 10th of November (HYPE!).
As usual, the prize pool will be $100 AUD. Which will be broken down accordingly: $50 for 1st, $30 for 2nd and $20 for 3rd. There will also be OSC points available.
International and SEA Tournament
A number of changes will be made to the structure of SEAcraft Weekly. Firstly, we'll be introducing changes to International tournaments. International Tournaments will now only be run once a month. This means that for the SEAfolks, there are now even more opportunities to win $$$ and OSC points then there was before.
Seeding:
If less than 32 players sign up, then SEAcraft officials will only seed the top 8 players in the OSC rankings.
If more than 32 players sign up, then SEAcraft officials will seed the top 16 players in the OSC Rankings.
If (more than 64 players sign up, then SEAcraft Officials will seed the Top 32 players in the OSC Rankings.
Additional Changes
Best of 3
All Games will now be Best of 3. We will no longer be having Best of 1 series. This will of course make for a longer tournament, but will give more people opportunities to win contra the unforgiving format of Best of 1. Finals will be Best of 5: No exceptions.
Replay Packs
All Quarter-Final, Semi-final and Final participants must send their replays to Philosophy via SEAcraftTV@gmail.com. For participants in the Finals, failure to send in your replays may result in you not receiving your prize until replays have been received. We will be setting up replay packs (every month) which I will give out to the community, free of charge (though you can make a small donation if you wish, which will go back to funding the tournament). If you would like to sign up to receive replay packs email SEAcraftTV@gmail.com with the subject heading: Replay Packs.
Warning System
I'll also be initiating a warning system. Players who sign up for SEAcraft Tournaments, and who, without a valid excuse (or enough prior notice: ~1hr before Tournament goes live) do not show up for their games will gain a warning. Two warnings over a period of a month will mean that you will be ineligible to play in SEAcraft for the next two tournaments. This is hopefully to avoid the amount of walkovers that we have. Repeating bans may incur longer penalties.
18th November 2015 - SEA ONLY ~ Special $200 Prize Pool!
25th November 2015 - SEA ONLY
2nd December 2015 - SEA ONLY
9th December 2015 - International
16th December 2015 - No Tournament
CHRISTMAS BREAK

Don't worry I'm good at sending replays because olimoleague requires it and I used to play every one of them
Yeah replays are too good resources to waste; you can also make replay packs exclusive for subscribers or something if you find any problem with funding

Reason: grammar
Great to see SEACraft back for LOTV
Moving to Wednesdays is cool. Mid week tournament. Good few days between a Masters Cup and FFN.
Hopefully still can get a good turnout. We used to run Community Opens on Wednesdays back in the day, and it was a popular timeslot then!

More SEA stuff is always good. Again though, cutting International playerbase + fans - Hopefully still can get a good turnout, and doesn't stunt potential growth.

Good move! Not a fan of Bo1's. Not value for players.
And in LOTV, games will finish a lot quicker, meaning tournament total time will be reduced.

Not sure on this.
I can understand invitationals, where you've guaranteed that person a spot/setup an event around that, and getting a replacement, especially last minute is extremely difficult. Or in a teamleague, where a player was selected to play in advance, but doesn't show.
But in an open, recurring weekly tournament, it doesn't have the same impact.
Additionally, posts, signups, etc are ways you can market SEACraft to potential sponsors. More posts, more thread views, more players in a bracket the better imo. Walkovers aren't that hard of a process to move through either.
I'm not a fan of punishing players, especially in a weekly open/format.

I make clear that persons with a valid reason (called up for work etc) won't be penalized. But for people who just forget to show up, I think that is bad form, and there are repeat offenders of this type of behavior in our community. And they should be punished accordingly. If you don't have the decency to inform the admins that you aren't showing up, why should I let you participate in the tournament?

Why not just use the check-in option in challonge?
Sounds like a great opportunity. Good luck to everyone involved

Why not just use the check-in option in challonge?
This a billion times.
Sometimes I sign up with every intention of playing, but then have family commitments or work commitments come up last minute and often I can't get to the Internet to unregister from these tournaments. The proposed rule would probably see me not both to really try and sign up... :'(
Don't think the proposed rule would change my 10min before tournament sign ups, but would help others jaja
Also challonge is a pretty cool idea, idea might be foreign to a number of new lotv players due to requiring a battlefy account but i still think it would be more appropriate than punishing no show's when we don't know the reasons why they cant show up
I've been meaning to bring up a warning system for not showing up for ages but forgot every time I came here like a champ. Good work implementing this system.
