Hey people,
I recently made a short clip with pictures that say a thousand words. I made it because after seeing those pictures I feel like more people should get to see them , as I learnt a lot from it!
Please check it out and hopefully you will enjoy it too!
Yeah some warning about some of those graphics is most definetely required. Also there was such as a hodge-podge of different things in there. Kinda diluted the impact that any of them could have because there was no clear theme through the video. Also didnt have a clue what some of them were. Would a younger person know about the chinese student standing in front of the tanks? Perhps some captioning is required, especially to able to tell what the message is meant to be.
Realistically though Dr Goose, should a younger person be watching this? I'm almost certain that this type of video is not aimed at a younger audience, but at an older once which can understand the effects of what is happening to the world of today. The video SHOULD be aimed at people who care about the world, and would already have a reasonable amount of knowledge on the topic. If you were to put captions in over these pictures, it would detriment the impact of the statement the video is trying to make.
On the other hand, I agree that the content of the video needed to be examined. Too many irrelevant pictures were included in the video. I also think you could've chosen a second song, or one that lasted for the entire video, as the same song restarting in the middle of the video is a bit tacky.
Otherwise, you did well on the video, but just keep in mind some of those points when you make your next one!

Exactly. Young people shouldn't be watching this, and there is nothing in the description to say so. Now I could tell what it was going to be like because the thumbnail showed WTC jumpers, but what if I didn't realise that and I let my children watch it? We also have a number of young people on this site, 13 and 14 year olds. Whilst I think that's the proper age to be learning about some of this stuff, it is only appropriate with proper adult supervision. I didn't dislike the video and am not trying to sound overly negative, just asking the OP to think about the impact of their video on their potential audience and post an appropriate warning sign.
Whilst I appreciate your motives, over-censorship is a huge issue and I think this would be one of those cases.
That being said, simply showing pictures with random sounds, unfortunately detracts from your product. This video would have been 100x more effective with either subtitles or a voice-over that explained relevant CONTEXT to each picture. CONTEXT would also alleviate a lot of the issues for younger people, guaranteeing that the picture isn't mis-interpreted.
Would a younger person know about the chinese student standing in front of the tanks?
It's a guy that stood in front of tanks, stopping them from going through the road the day after the Tiananmen Square massacre, where mostly students were slaughtered for protesting against the government
i just realised about what you were talking about, i thought you were asking what it was and asking a younger person :S but i guess i'm a "younger person" and i do know.

Was that in reply to DrGoose? There's no discussion of censoring anything here, just putting a warning so people know what they're watching before they get to something that upsets them...
