Maximum players: 128 Bracket: Best of 3, Double Elimination Seeding: The most successful 4 players (based on tournament results only) to register will be seeded to the Ro32. A points system will be used to determine future seeds. Replays: The winner of each match MUST save their replays and e-mail them to derek@teamnv.net. Map selection: The first map in each round will be pre-determined (and published on the brackets). The loser will pick the following map until a victor emerges. The same map cannot be played twice in a single round.
Maps
Round 1: MLG Shattered Temple * Round 2: MLG Shakuras Plateau Round 3: MLG Metalopolis Round 4: GSL Crevasse Round 5: ESL Neo Enigma Round 6: GSL Terminus SE Round 7: Tal'Darim Altar LE Round 8: GSL Dual Sight
* Note that Round 1 of the Lower Bracket will cycle maps from the beginning. So if you are eliminated in the first round, you will play Shattered Temple again in the Lower Bracket.
Cheaters: Anyone suspected and caught cheating (maphack, stream cheat, etc) will be immediately eliminated from the tournament and banned from all future events. Disconnects: Disconnects will be reviewed by myself, and treated circumstantially. If a clear winner can not be determined, the game will be re-played. Maps: Only valid maps may be hosted. Spectators: Both players must agree on each and every spectator that joins. Spectators must leave the game promptly if requested by either player, or myself. Forfeits: If a player is not in a game lobby within 15 minutes of their scheduled game, they will forfeit the round. (Subject to circumstance, ie. Approved break or delaying for commentator availability) Race Selection: Players must play the race they registered as. If a player wishes to choose their match-ups, they must notify me upon registration. (ie. TvP, TvZ, ZvT) Registration: All players must provide the information requested. Failure to do so may result in exclusion.

How far back are you looking at the results? How much weight are you giving higher prize money tournaments? Are you factoring in lan results? and so forth.

For this single event, I'll be basing it on tournament prize value. So player A has won $3200 worth of events, and player B has won $1800 worth, blah blah blah. It'll be fairly estimated for this event only. As I said in the OP, I'll be introducing a points system to manage future seeding. I'm honestly only doing this to encourage more people to play, as it's demoralising to open up the bracket and see yourself against X, Y or Z in round 1. I've already started compiling a spreadsheet of tournament results and average value, so I'm not phased by the task.

What if you establish and publish a big list of seeds down to like 32nd so we can see who would be where, and make that final? That way even though the actual rankings may be no more accurate than the prizemoney method there is maximum transparency and it gives some of the top seeds motivation to sign up! You could talk to peers about any specific ranks that are tricky to make a call on.
Also it will be fun to follow the brackets and work out who the seeds will be
