Victoria Park, South Perth and Applecross will be the first suburbs getting NBN if you are deciding based on internet.
Oh, I know - I follow NBN news like a hawk.
Our budget doesn't quite stretch to South Perth or Applecross - we could do Victoria Park but it'd be a step down from what we have now. Agreed that NBN would be a better bet, but apart from those 3 areas, nothing else will be active by the time we move.
I'm still angry that i'm limited to shit speed. -.-

Why are you asking here then? You already got a list :P
Internet in this country is going to be shit for quite a while, even if you get the NBN in your local area it's unlikely you're gonna get better speeds outside of the country.
Maybe I could afford to live in Applecross if I owned fifteen multinational companies.
While they are happy to check any single address for you ( which the online tool can already do), they have no "coverage map" so to speak, so they can't give any sort of idea of what suburbs have cable and which do not.
Obviously the information exists somewhere in their database (else they wouldn't be able to check their network at all) but for whatever reason they are unable or unwilling to release it. Possibly business secrecy reasons.

I'm compiling that list over on Whirlpool with contributions - figured if anyone here has cable and can tell us their suburb, I can add it to that list and get as complete a picture as possible.
