The much awaited SC2SEA yearly awards is here once again! The awards are meant as a fun way to look back at 2013 and also give recognition to outstanding members of our community. I've tried to make them as fair as possible and account for the whole year but of course there is always going to be a certain level of subjectivity when it comes to rankings.
I would say all nominees are already big winners and in some categories anyone could have won. Without further ado, presenting the SC2SEA awards 2013!
2013 started with a bang with the HotS Launch Event in Melbourne, followed by an extremely successful ACL Brisbane. Then the new came that SEA and Oceania were not having a WCS this year and things dipped slightly, Blizzard SEA came to the table and put on an awesome tournament "Vengeance Cup", The boys at Avant partnered with AVCON to bring Adelaide their biggest gaming tournament to date, ACL hosted to more events in Melbourne and Sydney, Hong eSports came to the table and put on a extremely successful first tournament and the year wrapped up with IEM Singapore.
Winner:HotS Launch Event (Melbourne) Honorable Mention: Hong Kong eSports Tournament #1
Favourite Online Event of the Year
Nominees:
SEA Championship Season Finals
SEACL #3
SEANA Trials Finals
Masters Of Koreign 1 Year Anniversary Invitational
Big online events seemed somewhat sparse in 2013 compared to 2012 but we still had some good ones. mGG hosted a terrific tournament with the goal of bringing the SEA and NA scenes closer together, Koreign celebrate a year of tournaments bringing the SEA and KR together, SEACL #3 attempted to bring SEA together while SEA Championship Series rewarded a years worth of commitment to this fine game called starcraft.
Winner: SEA Championship Season Finals Most Fun: SEACL #3
Rogue was key to the LAN scene in NZ for early 2013 and since her departure the mantle doesnt seemed to have been picked up, upon moving to Sydney she has injected alot of new life into the online scene, helping to admin when she can and uses her connections to launch MSi Saturday Showdowns. Similarly Arnor started off the year strong with backing and organizing SEACL #3 and continuing to run LANs in Sydney. Arnor also moved (well jobs atleast) creating another vacuum in Sydney, he still continued to aid in the administrator of numerous online tournaments throughout the year. VanZr doesnt really need much talking up, his the dude who gave us 3x ACLs for that we love him. Baldie is the man who ensure VanZr's dream came to life, he also ran his own Online tournaments wT weeklies and wT Major's throughout the first half of the year, what a boss! Finally Eddie, the beast, Master's Cups, GPDs and working with numerous tournament organisers to give us SEA Champion Series 2013, there was a week he wasnt involved somehow in the organizing of that bad boy, Eddie, my hat goes off to you!
Winner: Eddie Honourable Mention:Baldie Hero we need, but dont deserve:VanZr
Elusory and Halt stepped up to the plate by assisting with GPDs, so to did Slayer an Halt with their contributions to the BSGs, WolF and Pandarine were the head cooks behind BSGs and GPDs while tRoy ran a number of online weeklies (pXs and SYFs), PXL and helping admin wT weeklies as well helping keep the Melbourne scene alive and kicking,.
Winner: tRoy Honourable Mention:Pandarine and WolF
While Dox and Arnor stepped away from most of their tournament admin responsibilities in 2013 they certainly continue to contribute by keeping the community informed on the latest news across the globe. Nirvana was extremely active at the start of the year, particularly around the launch of HotS and Baldie kept us informed on all things ACL relate. Acewing was the man when it came to Patch updates an internal Blizzard news.
Winner:Arnor Honourable Mention:Dox Now you see me, now you dont!:Nirvana
Quality over quantity, the bad boys (and girls) might not have posted news pieces as often but the quality of the work when they did was outstanding and well received by the community!
Insano came to the party by casting pX and wT weeklies, Petrify having recently retired showed he is quite talented behind the analysis desk as well! Kez's gain werent exclusive to his biceps and Deth's enthusiasm while casting was contagious. Winner:Deth
Always fun to read these. Congratulations to all the nominees and the winners. Can't say I disagree with any of the results, granted it would be nice to see a few more writers getting up there.
Looking forward to part 2 as well, hopefully less drama then last year (who am I kidding we dig dat drama )
"and we'll invest more on Bots, as our first Trial bot, the 'NemBotElie' was a huge success, organising tournaments and being part of the Council of mGG. But there are a few bugs in which the bot cannot go past the skill level of a Platinum Protoss." - PaRAnorMaL
Ooh, my name's up there in the nominees ;o this time next year I'll be up there for best admin, just you wait!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all you beautiful people
*Bites everyone for extra long as a Christmas gift*

It feels strange that we are wrapping up 2013 already, it's been a mixed year - old members have come and gone, but newer individuals have stepped up to help fill the void.
I definitely agree with Mr Steady's rightful tournament organiser of the year.
My my, coming up to xmas makes me wish Welshy's artwork from way back none the less merry xmas all
Wow! Thanks for the nomination and congrats to the winners!
Been on a bit of a break since the pX fiasco, but after getting into some casting on tuesday and yesterday, it felt really good to be back at it again.
Mostly BSG and GPD admins here lol. I think I would also like to mention DGTVShockwave for BSGs and ToRDekid for the GPD. Also, big thanks to AsylumnofSouls aka ToRSuipr, mGGAsrathiel and Eddie for allowing us to continue the Opens.
Would like to say this is the second time my name has appeared as a nominee. Much much embarrassed I am \(///Σ///)/
Grats to tRoy for winning Infact, grats to everyone who is either a winner or a nominee. You're all winners in my books!
It has been a great year and here's to another one! I wouldn't spend the rest of my eSports love anywhere else but here :3
you all
