I would not be honest if I didnt tell the truth when I say we are struggling a little with getting numbers down to the venue for games.
On the casting side we have had some success's and we are happy with the progress there.
Wanting to through the line out to you, the community however.
Here are a few of our questions as we gage feedback:
1. Is Saturday a bad day? Recently having secured the venue we have moved our start time to 10:00 sign up, 10:30 kick off. Our first event was ( whilst small ) great and we had players like Pig, Vivid and Dragonite show up and we had an awesome series and fun games before calling the day at 2pm. Would the same time, but on a Sunday be more preferable?
2. When we initially held the pilot weekend, we wanted to reveal our plans to run a weekly league format. Since we didnt have enough players turn up.. ( but plenty of online support and some players wishing they didnt have other plans so they could come ), we didnt make the announcement. At the outlet, we wanted to make it a physical event to encourage players to come down and get some games, make some new friends and find some practice partners etc etc.
Since this seems a little trying.. ( at least on Saturdays ), would you guys be open to a remote play format? We can still happily run a weekly league format with remote play, but since the prize pool would come from signups, we would prefer that the first day for signups was at the venue. We could then run the remainder of the league via remote online play until we get to the final's?
3. We dont have any sponsors, so again, prize pool would be generated from signup fee. Here at WWS we arent looking to profit from a setup like this, so all funds raised are going directly into the prize pool and depending on signup amounts, payout could go from top 4 players to the top16! Let us know what you think
We really want to make it as easy as possible for the players, but at the same time we also want to generate and re-invigorate the Sydney scene as best as we can ( Look at Melbourne, they are ahead of us so far ). We have a great admin crew, and have already pre-generated some templates for sign up conditions and league format.
