I must say this thread did bring out a few good laughs. I particularly enjoyed EvilSWATs attempt to make a clever joke. After I read his **** this shit it actually made laugh
However, I will not be accepting such call outs ever. Nirvana already mentioned that I love bets, which is 100% true. I will take on any _fun_ challenge at any time, even for very large amounts. What Tgun did here is simply not in good spirits at all.
To give a little summary: He beat me twice or maybe even three times on the ladder and then I won the next three or four times in a row. The very first time I dropped mules after he refused to leave, which I always see on GSL and I don't actually see the harm in it(though I do agree now that it is debatable), he rage quit right after. We talked about my manner mules post game and he explained it was bad manner and the reason for his rage quit. I let him know that my manner mules weren't intended to humiliate him and that was that. Then we met again today on the ladder and it went GL HF from both sides. I was planning on doing a 11-11 proxy rax on his third on Korhal, but his overlord pathing was somewhat strange and it spotted the first rax going down quite fast. I decided to skip the second rax and go for a somewhat unorthodox 1 rax expansion. The 1 rax actually ended up taking down his natural to my surprise and after that I simply won the game( all the while I was watching MC vs Genius cuz I had a significant bet riding on it). I had the game won very early on, but took a while to finish. When he finally gave up he rage quit again without my manner mules, so I simply messaged him GG!
Then he told me im a cheesy ****** and to stfu and then he ignored me. Fair enough. Two games later I meet him again and he's protoss. I simply 1-1-1 him, cuz that's what I do to people I want to rape, and expanded to his natural and then he calls me a ******* asshole once again. I didnt reply at all that game, even though he insulted me a random number of times. He finally left saying I sucked badly and that I would never beat him ever. Which is kinda ironic since I just did... three times. He goes on by throwing random insults to my face which I reply to in a fun way by slighting jabbing at him. As a result he is tilted so much that he feels the need to create this thread, probably knowing perfectly well that I'd not accept.
I have very little respect for players that show pure immature rage and I do not see any reason to accept your challenge. If Tgun showed me some class and made this challenge as a jest or as a fair competitor I would gladly accept. Since he made this trying to prove his ego to whomever he feels it's necessary I have no desire to oblige him. I am not someone who thinks he is the very best as opposed to some players like SenSei or apparently Tgun. I know my place quite well and there are a multitude of better players than I. I will also never be the best player, not even if I tried my utmost. I simply enjoy this game a lot and I love to compete and sometimes I get decent results.
Noteworthy is that he said YOU AND ME BO9 50$ GO! and then ignored me on b.net, so I couldn't even reply. I'm quite sure that by tomorrow when he reads this he will feel somewhat silly.
Sorry to all who wanted to see a grudgematch going down. I definitely hope I can oblige you in the future with a showmatch between me and a higher caliber player

Tbh great post by Strafe(re: not doing grudgematches) and pretty much the reason I try to steer clear of grudge matches too. Although I find it hard to believe some of it wasn't at least somewhat bias :P.

Dude. You don't msg "gg" after someone rage quits. Think deeply to yourself what your really trying to say. Are you REALLY trying to say GOOD GAME? Rage quit is not even close to being as BM as msging "gg" after your opponent rage quits. You can tell your opponent is frustrated, you don't need to rub it in their face.

You're way too manner, if someone doesn't gg me, i needle the shit out of them. Usually with a "chin up slugga" or the classic, messaging them "gg" afterwards.
Only difference is it's proposed by someone with a reason to want to beat you...
if he really won't accept tgun challenging him to a grudge match for calling him bad, then I'll sponsor a showmatch between tgun and strafe to let them sort it out, since we're apparently fine with that.

I think you're still missing the whole point of his post - he has nothing to prove and doesn't really care.
BM get's thrown around the upper level of ladder all the time after games, half of it is from big ego's, half is from people trying to needle people who are clearly annoyed they lost to you for the fun of it. This is the first case where I've seen random ladder BM (which it looks like both cases were involved in tbh), brought to a forum.
Don't get me wrong, I understand both sides of it, Tgun is clearly annoyed that strafe decided to needle him after he lost to him, which was a consequence of tgun leaving without GGing. Obviously this built up over a couple of games, and managed to piss tgun off enough that he's decided to "call out" strafe publicly (which again, I've literally never seen happen over random ladder BM, lol), to which strafe's basic reaction was "lol" (hence his rep comment before he posted).
The thread managed to get big enough that Strafe decided he should at least give his recap of what the hell led to this post (which I still think is probably awfully biased, but we will never know). And him replying with his belief that 'grudge matches' are for people with e-peens so large that they feel like slapping them together till one goes limp. He doesn't care if people think Tgun is better than him, and in his post he tries to make it as obvious as possible what he thinks of people whose egos are far too big for their own good, and that he tries to keep his as small as possible.
My basic understanding of events:
1) tgun and strafe ladder a bunch of times, BM each other in the most standard of standard ways you'd see almost every day on ladder.
2) Tgun gets fairly mad and makes a forum post calling out strafe
3) Strafe responds saying he's not interested in grudge matches.
And his last line about saying he would gladly play a showmatch with anyone better, is him saying he doesn't hate the idea of showmatches, and would love a showmatch with someone where both players are going into it just for the fun of play a bo9 with another good player where the community gets to enjoy good games. But under the circumstances tgun proposed this it's more of a "I HATE YOU I WANT TO BEAT YOU SO EVERYONE KNOWS IM BETTER THAN YOU!" style of thing. And his line about "anyone better" is just him needling tgun some more because he can.
And my opinion is that people should lay off the needling others unless they want to deal with the consequences. If anyone wants to claim they are better than someone else (even just to needle them) they should be willing to man up and play a legit series against them, money or no money.
Claiming to be 'above' such things, but not above BM and just childishly trolling them in general is not cool in my books.

In that case you guys at sc2sea might wanna hold off on the tournaments for a few months because pretty much everyone in the top 200 has about 150 grudge matches to settle first.
Even the smallest donations help keep sc2sea running! All donations go towards helping our site run including our monthly server hosting fees and sc2sea sponsored community tournaments we host. Find out more here.
