So I was clearing my sc2sea inbox today (2,500 msgs omg) and found this interesting message from EdgE way back in december "Hey Nirvana, i had an idea for an Xmas racewars for SC2SEA. It could be either involving the whole community, or just top players that could be chosen and or voted by people, and just broadcast it as a fun showmatch between each races. I was thinking all kill format as well."
I was really busy back then, and since sc2sea's 1 year anniversary is approaching soon next month, I thought why not hold it now! Its basically gonna be 6 players per team (4 players 2 subs), with players decided solely on invitation by ME! It will just be a fun event finishing in one day and celebrating 1 year of awesomeness that has been sc2sea.
These are the players I have shortlisted so far, and could change based on player's availability or form.
If this gets prize pool that'd be great but if not thats fine too I think. Would be just fun thing. GSTL style would be great but many players will miss out though..
I don't think it should have a prizepool, race wars have always been about having some fun and playing for the pride of your in-game race!
I say include Random!
Shortlist looks good but we should include more players per team. If we do it over 2-3 days we could have 4 players play day 1 all-kill, then another 4 on day 2, etc. so a lot of people get to play. It's too hard to narrow down those lists!

This sounds like a really fun thing to watch, and maybe even have one for the lower leagues too. (BSG)
Also maybe yCHSPR(ST_KingKong) should be added too, unless I'm blind and didn't see it.
It should be all kill format, GSTL Style. And i definatly think there should be a random team! (I was thinking this and then you asked if you should have it as I read everything - fantastic idea!)
OMG OMG !! this is a very good idea !! having the player playing each other by bringing the best out from the race they chose and proud of !! GO RACEWARS !!
I saw my comment go through because it was just above Shortizz. I understand it wasn't contributive but it was absolutely harmless - just a lame joke geez. Give me an infraction or something if it breaks a rule, or ask me to take it off or something, but please don't delete my post.
Anyway back on topic. I doubt there is the possibility to get a large enough prize pool to divide between 10+ players.
Light the way the site works is whenever a post deleted, it never gets removed from the database. The post becomes hidden from the public but it is still clearly visible to all mods/admins who have the option to restore the post, view it, see the deletion reason etc. I said that it was probably a browser problem cause we can't see such a deletion notice above shortizz's post so it never registered on the site in the first place.
As for the race wars - Yea based on the comments it looks like random will be included as well as more players! It will just be a fun event were the prize is helping determine if your race is the best on SEA! As we would like as many players to participate as possible, the format could be 5-7 players per race, each match a best of 3. Only the highlight match of each round will be cast and the rest will be played concurrently. All replays will be provided after the event.
Set 1: PvZ
Set 2: PvT
Set 3: PvR
Set 4: ZvT
Set 5: ZvR
The whole event will conclude in around 3 hours, which is less than how long our COs usually run.
Would that be better than a GSTL format which has a max of 4 players? Let me know what you think. Included a poll.
Just a suggestion. How about making this event a little longer by choosing 6 captains (2 from each race) with those captains taking turns picking players for their team.
Maybe 8 players per team with a minimum of 2 per race and maximum of 3 per race. Eg. 2 Zergs 3 Terrans and 3 Protoss. 8 players per team to give the captains more choices on who to use not to mention if players don't turn up. GSTL format of course with 5 players from each team playing.
