thing is, chinese server is just a bigger version of sea. the pros still dont play on it and I would find no real reason to play on it.
also it wouldn't work because of chinese laws preventing anyone without a chinese ID# to register an account(which you can pretend to do but the point stands).

True true, can't let those chinese know what's really happening in the world
Its not about making SEA perfect (competition and skill level), it will never be in its current state or potential merged state. It is about making it playable for those that want to play on their server. There are approx 300,00-400,000 people on the chinese server. That still means allot of opportunities for those from sea to be able to ladder and do team games compared to the 4-5000 that are currently on SEA. With the partnership between sc2sea and china with our master cups and with the leifeng cup it would be a great step forward for not only SEA but china sc2 community aswell.
Trust me I know that china has much legistlation against such things and blizzard uses a sub contractor company to run their servers in china so it may be far from possible. It is just a thought, discussion, potential fix to our issues as a sea community which cannot play on their server due to lack of activity.
Everything is in blizzards hands and how far they would like to peruse different options to keep SEA alive if they even care, but as we all know it it took 10years to get Australian wow servers. My expectations for blizzard to act and do something about the issue is far from high and I imagine we will not see any movement for many years if any.
I think the real problem is that the main population of starcraft players in sea are located in australia and because there was no australian servers blizzard basically drove all those players away.
Unless they have an aus server with the launch of Lotv I doubt we're going to be able to keep that initial spike of people becuase they will move onto games like dota, lol w/e.
I know many friends that have quit the game purely because playing with 200 ping after playing dota is just not fun and it's frustrating.
