I know it felt like an eon ago but I would love some feedback from both competitors and spectators on how the entirety of ACL StarCraft II Online Series #1 was (http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=8710). Unfortunately the entire ACL and VIM team have been busy with New Zealand Armageddon and PAX Australia the last few weeks so this is the first time we've had time to reflect.
This event was the first time we used the ACL studio for StarCraft II and we would have loved to use it the entire time however due to needing the streaming equipment for other jobs this was not possible.
Moving into 2015 we want to further look into ways to utilise the ACL Studio for content. I personally felt the broadcasts became smoother as the weeks passed both due to myself becoming more experienced with the streaming equipment and due to more planning however it still can improve a lot!
If the major consensus is that these kind of tournaments are successful and in demand it will greatly increase the likelihood of it happening again - obviously with changes as necessary.
Thanks for a great year. I intend to make a blog about ACL and StarCraft II in 2014 a bit later.
i thought the acl series was really fun. I enjoyed playing in the qualifiers when i had the chance and the finals were a great watch. Grade A production for a SEA tourny and the prize pool really got all of the best players in SEA to commit and play in it. Quality wise everything seemed to be pretty sweet and not much really comes to mind when it comes to improvements other than NEED MOAR SC2 :P
ACLSOS was awesome, was a good source of stories (Runa's nuke, Wally 2-1 iaguz etc.) and was really well done, maybe next time we can get a Ro16 as well for even more epicness

From a player standpoint, it was hard for me to remember the days very well, but I'm going to atleast set some alarms or get a calender updating for me if this were to come back for 2015.
It was also very enjoyable to play the ones I did remember, the times were very reasonable.
The qualifier times were reasonable, but I think mixing up the times for them wouldn't hurt (like 6pm one night, 8pm another). That being said, it was obviously very enjoyable because I really like cash dolla and getting nuked by people.
maybe try out showmatches with the studio would be cool, not sure if worth but just an idea
I was a spectator. Tbh i was quite dissapointed at the quality of the last ACL. the waiting time between games was quite long but the casting was good. I would love to see you guys focus more on the players (doing things like pre match trash talk/interviews) and just hyped up the matches more. I would recomend looking at the recent redbull tournaments as a good example of what you guys should be pursueing. Don't stop hiring maynard and zeph though! they are a great casting duo! but yeah goodluck to the future of ACL!

When I was able to catch it, watching part of the online series was great fun. The casters were very entertaining, and the players gave us some epic matches to watch.
I second Eddie though: finals as Bo7, and Semis as Bo5 would be awesome.
I know it can get a bit draining for the casters/observers after a long day of SC2, but there is something fantastic about watching a hard-fought Bo7 to cap off a tournament.
