I played rugby for many years. I stopped playing since i got injured in Phuket 10's last year. Never played again since that tournament. I am playing role playing games, and have a bunch of friends in Singapore that plays Warhammer Quest 5. Would you consider quitting your job to become a pro-gamer?
It's very very hard to be a pro-gamer, it required a lot of hard work, dedication and talent to succeed. I don't have what it takes. Pro-gamers must be respected as they work more than anyone else for a mere salary.

Even if I was good enough I just don't see myself making a career out of it. It takes a whole new level of dedication and skill to play amongst the top.
2. Student, studying BSc. Laboratory Medicine/Laboratory Assistant at a Pathology Lab (hopefully moving on to a Lab Tech/Scientist once I graduate).
3. 4-5 hours on average every day. Maybe 30+ hours a week, depends on work and uni.

5. Not sure really. If I were much better at the game I'd probably have a different perspective, but I don't think I could play Starcraft like a job, I would lose my interest. Being a progamer doesn't mean you'll be paid a decent income anyway, even working full time at McDonalds nets you more money than most members of pro-teams right now. Up until SC2 (and even then only the best get decent salaries), unless you were Flash there was very little chance of making 6 figures.
