Just saying... That if you're using the healing abilities of a monk, it is only natural that once the difficulty increases, a non-scaling ability falls behind. I would have loved D3 to have a %life heal rather than a flat heal cause it would have given more options to players who want to build a group-tank Monk.
Having said that (and take this with a grain of salt, cause I havent played much and have spent less than 500k on the AH), I am powering through Act 1 Inferno with ease due to stack life-on-hit, fast wpns and with 135% base magic find, mainly due to dual wielding life-on-hit wpns (400dps, 300 life on hit). I can't wait till I can actually afford 600dps, 800 life on hit wpns! Seems to be working as intended? I can't stand in aoe magics like molten, dec, etc.. but anything else, I can pretty much tank.
TL: DR. Healing ability sux a$$, Life-on-Hit FTW! Patch made zero difference
Your life on hit will have less effect on Level 62 and 63 mobs in Acts 2,3 and 4. Also, the DPS won't be high enough to sustain yourself due to the spike damage. I'm afraid you're gonna have to spend a lot more money on the AH. :O

Good to know! I'll run this road till I feel I can't sustain it anymore. I just wanted to point out that spirit-spamming build on a non-scaling ability doesn't seem "working as intended" even before the nerf and that if life-on-hit builds are possible, then it might work.
Also, I know I'm still in Act 1 but I haven't ever been one-shotted yet by a mob, and that's with just 24k hp. Then again, I have passives that reduces enemy's dmg by 40% + the monk's inherent 30% dmg reduction so perhaps its way harder for non-monk classes? The only time I've consistently have trouble with are champion packs that are arcane wallers and the fire chained invuns but 2-3 go's at it will clear them, depending on your positioning luck.
