rofl. why do you even have to come in here and say anything then?
seems redundant to me, why come and be a dickbag in someones thread celebrating their achievement.
just don't post, because noone cares what crap you have to throw around mate.

I'm just stating out my opinion in a public forum, i remember sudragon or someone's thread getting closed for a GM thread
you dont see how someone made a thread for their friend who has worked his ass off to get to GM to congratulate him is different from someone making a thread to brag about being better than others?
you mate, are a jabroni.
Chris didn't start this thread about himself. That is the difference.
i just dont get why both are similar threads yet have TOTALLY different opinions. 1 is YOUR BRAGGING, the other is CONGRATULATIONS.
that was a self promotion thread though by from what i read someone who cheesed his way to gm and was there early in the season. This was a friend saying congratulations to him which is why its ok. It's pretty much is the thread hurting anyone or being a douche? no then fine if people are enjoying the content and someone is happy and proud of their achievement why would you close that? compared to someone bragging (maybe a troll taken the wrong way) that people seem to be getting angry in and could make some bad blood in the community should we shut it down?
Basically the moderators are trying to keep this environment nice and friendly. Thankfully the rest of the community wants to too as you can tell from the rep system which generally works

Fair enough.
What my main point is(maybe i didnt stated it clear enough) is that this type of thread would generally be in Blogs? Or just personally congratulate him online or something. Is is REALLY necessary to create a thread to congratulate him on sc2sea? I'm not trying to say that its wrong to congratulate people for achieving their goals but if everyone follows him and just post a thread for everyone that promotes to master/gm/whatever their goals are, they would be full of this type of threads.
I like this kind of thing on the forums. There should always be a place to be positive and nice to people and that should never be questioned.
We are a small, tight knit and loving community who should all celebrate our victories together and be supportive of others achievements. When one person in SEA does something amazing it shines through on all of us.
I don't see why it needs to be justified to be nice and congratulate someone, or why this thread had to be turned into bickering and bringing down peoples achievements.
Enough bad shit happens in SC2, enough drama and fighting and hate. The thing I love about this forum over every other forum is that people here give a shit about each other.
If that isn't what you are like, then either don't reply to a thread or don't read it, it's not that hard.

yea I get what you mean probably the way you stated it got people angry though . I think blog is more a personally thing though which is why a thread got created. Also I don't think all threads need to be super serious. For example there's threads like this which are happy and proud of ours players for doing something and letting people have a bit of fun. If you had every thread as something super serious people would get bored of reading them and would come here less often.
It's like the Dox announcement of announcement thread. I loved that. That had me checking for ages trying to figure it out (well really checking what miles had figured out). Like I get why you think its not thread worthy its not huge news but that's also what's the spotlight section is for.
Just stating out that i dislike this type of thread, sorry if i am overly negative about it or just putting him down. Just that i really not hope that the entire forum will be full of these threads. Maybe i could have phrased my words better.

The thing is these don't happen all that often I mean how often is someone going to get gm for the first time or beat one of the best zergs in the world? not very so it is important to celebrate these things. I mean if you beat MVP tomorrow and were my irl mate as Cabracan is (he introduced me to sc2) or my team mate and mate like ninja I would be making a thread like this saying so to celebrate. For we are a community and like to help one another and celebrate together.
You do realise "sudragons" post was not by him right? It was someone trolling him because they were pissed. It doesn't relate to this at all. I think its great that another member is writing a congratulatory post for someone, the fact that it should be in blogs doesnt lessen how nice a thing this is. **** I wish someone wrote me a congratulatory post when I got GM, would have actually made the effort worthwhile!
Its better than the people who post their own thread basically saying "REP ME PLSSSSSS". Oh hi Pet

yea i wasn't sure what to make of that post seemed a bit off. I can understand why someone just 2 gating could piss someone off tho :P.

Although I agree, maybe it should be in blogs........
Why are you making such a big deal about it this? How about leaving this business up to the forum moderators huh? Last time I checked, you aren't a forum moderater. I'm sure you have better things to do instead of derailing threads which some find worthy of a read.
If you don't like it, closing the thread is only a button away.
EDIT: Oh, gratz on GM too buddy.... time for KR now? :P
I has an issue, if I make a blog about how gosu Stallion is and talk about how he just made GM on KR and beat nestea in the GSL finals 4-0 then he posts in the blog thanking everyone for their support and whatnot. i cant rep...
I CANT REP
why no reps in blogs yo?
But yeah blogs make more sense in every way except for that^
