Just had a thought for a possible "Other Games" forums page, would be nice to discuss what everyone else is up to when they aren't laddering, new games that are coming out etc. Even though the site is primarily a SC2 Gaming site, I wouldn't see harm in talking about gaming and games in general.
Feel free to use this thread to put up any other ideas for forums if you need.
Yea we actually had a "Sports & Other games" forum a few months ago but it wasn't used enough so people suggested me to combine it with the general forum, and thats what happened! will keep an eye and if other game threads get too much will look into restoring the old layout.
at the end of the day its all about making the site organised and easy to view and sometimes too many forums might end up doing the opposite. ty for the feedback!
Ah, cool. That sounds pretty reasonable Nirv. Sorry for creating a thread for that too, I was almost going to post it in this thread but thought why not create a new one!
Completely non-essential improvement; but any chance for some code to be added to the reply box that would allow CTRL+Enter to post the reply? It's used on a few other forums and I it
Couple of thoughts on the layout. I haven't been frequenting this site for a short while. Having come back, I find the front page does look a little cluttered all of a sudden. Took me a short while to find out where the sign up thread for today's CO was. The right side of the main page does look quite cluttered with two columns there, though I'm not sure how you can organise the layout to make it look more neat. Perhaps to cut down the number of words on the main page except for the main news box?
Have a 'Do You Know' box somewhere at top right or some unobtrusive corner which is basically a random generator of a database of 192837 SC2 facts / tips / tricks.

My suggestions
1. The starcraft units as avatars needs to go. Maybe just have it as a small icon next to their name or something. (Too big atm)
2. Fix the site for smaller screens, there are columns on the right not alligned with the site and just goes off on its own and everything ><

What browser and resolution are you running? It's fine on 27" @1920x1080 on my end, just as a reference point.

Im on the same resolution (i dont have problem on 1920x1080), but on my old monitor 1280x1024 and ipod the right column is so much on the right and you gotta scroll there
I have the same problem as Aean(: on my 14" Mac at work. The chatbox keeps on resizing till its happy. . I'm not sure if it's a screen resolution thing or a browser thing.
TGM has been going great and apart from helping cover all the site hosting costs it has also allowed me to reinvest into some artwork (banners / new logo) and custom coding for the site.
The first of this custom coding is the events calender. You will now be able to access the thread info, sign up link and stream easily from the calender.
Next in line will be the tournaments section where the players bnet handle will be displayed instead next to their sc2sea name.
I also intend to add some custom coding to for clans to make it easy to add / edit clan details.
Haven't done a site update in awhile so heres sc2sea 2.1 patch changes!
older stuff:
clan page hosting for active clans which solves the problem of having them create and maintain them own page (and the little traffic independent clan sites get). we do not discriminate against skill / league, we only discriminate against activeness, if your clan is active on SC2SEA and does not have a bad reputation you WILL be hosted so get your clan active!
news display has been reworked and is now neater and no need for spoilers, just use the + and - at the top right of the boxes. news icons have been added to differentiate between the categories of news (ty benji for the suggestion)
new chatbox implemented which has many new functionality like PM in chat, private chat rooms and achievements/forum notifications been posted in chat. Big thanks to paperclip who helped make it so nice and pretty and who also fixed the reputation display bug some people were facing.
Players can now request for name changes by posting in the name change thread. simple changes to name (clan tags) are for everyone. Major name changes require at least 50 posts or less than 2 posts.
newer stuff:
In an effort to stop the "rep abuse" members blatantly abusing will be now permanently unable to use it. (1 user banned so far). If you dont wanna be banned simply dont abuse it, doesn't mean just because it can be abuse , it should be abused. Thats the wrong approach to have! This just means abusers are unable to vote. They still ahve reputaiton and you still can + / - their posts.
Reputation display system has been reworked to make it harder to get medals/pips below your name. each pip requires 100 reputation points. 3 pips = 1 medal/star so 300 points = 1 medal (nerfed from 25 points pip 125 points medal)
Reputation altering power has been adjusted to make it less inflated.
registered member for 180 days = +1 to rep power
every 400 posts you make = +1 (nerfed from 100 posts)
every 200 reputation points you have = +1 (nerfed from 100 points)
Eddie suggested to list your streams now you need 30 posts and i agree (nerfed from 20 posts)
A VOD Thread will be made soon for all casters who produce SEA vods.

Reputation system has been reworked to make it harder to get medals/pips below your name. each pip requires 100 reputation points. 3 pips = 1 medal/star so 300 points = 1 medal
