Don't be getting ahead of yourself Infeza, additional standing room will be managed very closely for media, special guests & a handful of giveaways..
Can you elaborate on what this means if we didn't get tickets?
And in future, it would be nice if subscribing to the event notified you of tickets being available as it advertises to do so. I didn't stress about remembering the time/date as I assumed I would receive updates, but this didn't occur...
An email was sent to all registered subscribers on Saturday night, before ticketing information was confirmed. It would have read like this:
Quote:
Hi %insertname%,
We hope you're as excited as we are with the Blizzard Starcraft 2 tournament only weeks away!
Just reminding you that tickets are available from next Monday (23rd of July) at 9am. There are only 300 tickets available for each day and are served on a strictly first come first served basis.
This means to secure your seat you will need to make sure you're ready come 9am next Monday!
There are two tickets, one for Saturday and one for Sunday. If you're keen to come to both sessions you'll have to sign up for both days.
Yeah, I also got one on Saturday... I'm just pretty sure I remember it saying that you'd be notified when they went on sale. I was hoping that would be the case... just mentioning it as some feedback for next time if there's going to be a system like that, it should be very clear what it is supposed to be for... obviously I misinterpreted this statement and was relying on it too much.
Regardless, with regards to implying that standing room is going to be managed 'very closely', what does this imply for people who don't have a ticket (and don't win one). Will there be entry on the day?
The system we use will allow us to determine exactly who is in the venue by 'checking in'. If for some reason some people with tickets are not in the venue by a set time, we will look at allowing a handful of people in to replace those 'no shows'. I wouldn't rely on this at all however, as we cannot make guarantees for other people's behaviour.
If you'd like to talk to me about volunteering in anyway, please send me a PM.
