aLtOxygen
nGenJazbas
nGenLight
inF
Oxygen beat inF 3:0 while nGenJazbas beat nGenLight 3:2
In the finals, Jazbas took down Oxygen 3:1
Congrats to nGenJazbas being crowned iMaster of SEA Week 3! Jazbas has also earned himself a spot in the iMaster of SEA final torunament at the end of March for his position in the top 200 list.
The top 3 players on Blizzard's top 200 list competed for the title of iMaster of SEA!. Thank you iMaster for this amazing sponsorship to encourage ladder play. Including the CO allows a spot for players who dont have the time to ladder up for the shot of $50. Winner of this tournament is required to submit his last 10 ladder games + the BO5 games so if you're in contention to play in this, keep Tuesday night free and remember to save your last 10 ladder replays!
The iMaster of SEA format is like this - Top 3 ranked players + last weeks CO winner make up the top 4 who will play each other in a BO5 Single Elim. In the case that the CO winner is in the Top 3 already, the runner up of the CO will join the top 4.
Community Open #14 Winner: rLsEscapisT - $25
rLsEscapisT has entered the Community Open's Hall of Fame! Initially reluctant to participate in the community open as the winners are usually the top players of the SEA ladder or the legends of SEA, he decided to take part in the community open with the support of his teammates. Taking out players like Jabito and inF, he made his way to the finals vs Hocus.
In the ace match of the finals, he showed us really creative play, using blink stalkers to blink into the main of the zerg, using a warp prism to carry sentries with full energy to forcefield the ramp, destroyed the main base of the zerg and ran off. The zerg tried to take a hidden expansion, but was scouted not long after because of the units he rallied out. Hocus finally tapped out after the hidden expansion died and he was mined out. Be sure to check out the replays of his games !
Cure: Congratulations on being the winner of CO #14!
EscapisT: Thanks ^.^
Cure: How did you feel while playing against Jabito? The player that made 3rd place on the CnZ, taking out players like RedArchon, Oxygen and Revenant ?
EscapisT: I honestly didn't expect to win, i was just playing in the CO because you asked me to, but i just tried my best and won.
Cure: You performed really well in this tournament, how did you practice for this tournament ?
EscapisT: You made me play 100 PvZ and PvT with you and you're asking how i practiced ? Well, training with my team is the only training i get.
Cure: Hahaha! In game 2 of the finals, you made quite a few mistakes. Were you nervous / pressured ?
EscapisT: I didn't expect to win because i've never played on that map before, I just wanted to see his playstyle and beat him in game 3.
Cure: Well in game 3, you did a weird build that worked out very well, what was in your mind ?
EscapisT: I wanted to 4gate blink and just do an all in, but i forgot to make the fourth gateway, then halfway through the push i was wondering why i was getting owned when i had blink and why was my resource count so high, then i realised i was 1 gateway short. -.- so i just went for a robo and did that :P
Cure: Any tips for players that are starting to learn Protoss?
EscapisT: If you wanna learn to play Protoss, don't 4gate. If you wanna win though, just make 4gateways. LOL!
Cure: ROFL ! Any shoutouts ?
EscapisT: Our sponsors for sponsoring rLs, the whole rLs-Gaming team, iMaster for sponsoring this, Zanooku for doubling the prize money and Lance is cool.
Cure: Okay that wraps it up, btw i'm keeping your prize money, you know right ?
EscapisT: ...... i hate you.
SC2SEA.COM's 2v2 Open #02 Hosted by:BakaInu and Zergtastic Winner:inF and altAaron - $20
inFiRevenenant and aLtAaaron dominate SC2SEA.com's 2v2 Open #2! Only losing the first game, they stomped their way through the tournament. Defeating nGenLight and nGenBenji, aLtJimDiddy and WVMaximus, Team AoW, and lastly StimmedProbe and Rinke in the finals.
Their Protoss / Zerg combo proved unstoppable to all that stood in their way!
Cure: Congratulations on winning the 2v2 Open #2!
aLtAaron: Thx gg >_<
inF: Thx! (:
Cure: How do you feel after winning first place ?
aLtAaron: Feeling happy! I got carried by Revenant x)
inF: I feel relieved and a little happy at the same time. Not too pressured though, because Aaron was carrying me most of the games.
Cure: LOL ! How did you guys prepare for this tournament ?
aLtAaron: We played abit previously out of boredom, and recently started playing again to try for master league in 2v2, so the grind to masters league was good practice.
inF: Laddering out of boredom/for Master's in 2s. You don't need much practice when you have such a good forcefield user as your partner. HAHA.
Cure: I see. Which matchup did you think was the hardest matchup you faced in this tournament, and why do you think so ?
aLtAaron: Probably the Terran/Zerg combo when they do some kind of all in. As a Protoss, its really hard to hold, especially on certain maps where my teammate can isolated and it becomes a 2v1 at my map.
inF: The hardest match was probably against nGenLight+nGenBenji, because we had to play pretty micro intensive games. The 20mins game with Jimdiddy+Maximus was pretty fun too, though!
Cure: Would you say that Protoss and Zerg is the best 2v2 combo ?
aLtAaron: Hmm, i don't know, i don't really play team games alot, but it certainly is a pretty good combo. But having a zerg teammate is good because of the mobility. He can help to defend me x)
inF: I actually like terrans as partners quite a lot, because of their diversity of strategies, and I've always liked a Human(aka Terran in SC2) partner in Warcraft3 when I used Orc.
Cure: I heard there was some drama that happened during the tournament, what happened ?
aLtAaron: Well in the first place i had Zanooku muted since like last month,
so i dont exactly know the fuss hes' kicked up again this time. Our 1st match opponents Benji and Light agreed before the game on a Bo3,
so its ok. I don't exactly know the situation of Zanooku's game because its originally Bo1, and i think he noticed our game was Bo3, and after he lost 1st game to his opponents he started crying for attention, and asking for Bo3 for his series as well. Something along those lines.
inF: Hmm, the bo3 was mutually agreed on by BOTH parties because there was no seedings, making some of the better teams meet before semi finals. We also approached the admins about our decision. As for ZanooKu's case, he wanted a bo3 AFTER he lost his first series. It wasn't something that was mutually agreed on before the match. In short, it was just him being sore about his loss, and also attributed from his common behaviour of seeking attention.
Cure: Lastly, any tips for anyone out there learning how to 2v2 ?
aLtAaron: Find a gosu partner like Rev and get carried. HAHA!
inF: Some of the fundamentals of 1v1 applies to 2v2 as well. Knowing that in mind, you will able to exploit it quite well. For example, a Terran+Zerg combo would be good because of Zerg's fast expanding capabilities and Terran's Defensive capabilities with siege tanks. Last but not least, find a partner that can abuse his race well and you're good to go!
Cure: LOL! Thanks for your time (:

Main Story: mOOnGlaDe's exceptional performance in the IEM.
After making it into the GSL Code A Ro32, Glade flew to Germany to play in the IEM. He ended up with 4th place, being the highest ranked foregin player, from our very own SEA server no less!! Defeating world class players like Socke (2:1), Sjow (2:0), Squirtle (2:0), Fenix (2:0), he dominated in the groupstage against the best forein players around the world.
Beating MouzMorrow 3:1 in the quarterfinals, Glade proceeded to play against Ace. Ace, however proved to be too much, taking 3 straight games off GlaDe. The last game however, was extremely close. It turned to be a base trade between the two players. Glade had burrowed roaches and a few hydras. He sniped Ace's last observer, but as Ace had too many units guarding his remaining buildings, mOOnGlaDe chose to tap out. Ace proceeded to defeat Warcraft III legend (WEMadeFOXMoon) and won the tournament.
In the 3rd/4th place matches, Glade lost to Squirtle, which he 2:0'd earlier, and ended up 4th place.
Huge props to glade for making it this far ! You make SEA proud !
Be sure to check out mOOnGlaDe's IEM replays here!

This week's Tournaments
We have given the 2v2 Open a decent run already, and although 16 teams (32 players) is decent, the interest has not been as good as we hoped. So we are giving our 2v2 format one last runout this week, and if we still get less than 24 teams, we would have to axe the 2v2 opens and run a different tournament format. So team players, do support the 2v2 open and sign up!
Next big announcement is the very first Eddie's Master Cup. The qualified players from the 3 GPD tournaments so far will join high diamonds and master league players along with some special invites to fight for a $70 prize pool! Do remember to join this tournament!

We were told to wait in the lobby until your games were done because it had to be casted (leaving us in the lobby for 15 minutes). I was curious as to why it was taking so long and it turns out the poor organising team allowed their game to played as a Bo3, which we were also informed our game would be. After game 1 I inquire for a new map and get flamed because...
"OMG NO ITS ONLY BO1 AFTER WE SAY BO3 AND MAKE U WAIT 15 MINS FOR A GAME"
I was not happy with the 2v2 open and felt it could have been admined better.
