[PvT]Steelers vs. Chiefs Week 2: Knee Jerk Reactions
But I think he was at his most poignant when he sang...”Im on my way. I’m on my way. Home Pittsburgh Steelers T-Shirt , Sweet, Home. As Week One’s tie flummoxed those in Steelers Nation, I was feeling cautiously optimistic leading up to what I presumed to be a fireworks show at Heinz Field. So if you want to know how my emotions fluctuated throughout the day, keep on reading.Nonetheless, a simple reminder, a knee jerk reaction is an immediate and unthinking, emotional reaction. It’s basically shooting first and apologizing later. I can safely say that’s a true definition of your’s truly and a good lot of Steeler Nation. Here’s my real-time reactions during the Steelers battle with Andy Reid and the KC Chiefs.1st QuarterJim Furyk back home leading the Terrible Towel wave. Cool. It’s amazing. Kind of knew that Ben would go deep to Washington on the first play. If fans and media complain thet somebody needs to get involved, they typically do it right away. Kind of predictable.Mahomes has poise on the pocket. Conley Pittsburgh Steelers Hats , against the zone, was wide open. Team just honored Billy Hillgrove for 25 years in the booth. Great ovation. It’s early, but Ben looks way off again. The crowd has completely given up on Berry. The boos were deafening. They left Watkins and Kelce all alone. Steelers need to score on this drive. If not we are witnessing the beginning of the end.Washington is in there a lot.AB was open. Ben just plum missed him.Conner with the spinaroonie in the open field.Welcome back Tony Toe Tap.Can’t settle for three. Can’t even get three. Ouch. Gonna be a long drive home.Leave it to the Steelers to make Sammy Watkins look like a superstar.Edmunds plain blew that stop. Gotta tackle.Mahomes is for real. They got lucky there on the hold. People are leaving. If they don’t do something soon, I’m going to have to drown my sorrows at the Pierogie House.Quarter 2Jesse James was wide open. Nice.Nice look from Ben too.Crowd is back in a big way.Dude next to me snubbed me on the high five. I’m dejected.Offense can’t let up. Need to cut it to seven.Switz can add a really good dimension to this team. Was that s Big Dan sighting? He does exist. That was a perfect drive.Bos(not-so)well. What in the name of Kris Johnson is going on?Jeff Hartman and I picked James as a sleeper to have a huge game.James Wow-shington.This place is electric now.Quarter 3What a great half. But can’t revert back to Q1.Reverting back.Missed assignment. Watt can’t be covering guys deep. This defense couldn’t stop up a toilet.AB and JuJu may very well be the best receiving duo in the NFL.Ben is overthrowing these guys. No TD here and it is over.Another penalty on Vance. C’mon man. Crowd is mad. But tough to go for it with 9:16 left. Here we go. Need seven and luck.JJ and JuJu. Clutch.Vintage Ben. I can’t take this. Wow. Needed a three and out. That first down killed them.Well. That sucked. ...So...now as I replay the game more and more in my head, my perceptions will alter. But for now, you just got a glimpse of the first thoughts that popped in my mind while I was watching this game. Feel free to get your commentus maximus on in the comment section. The Steelers are taking on the Panthers tonight at Heinz Field on three-day’s rest. That’s right, it’s the annual game on Thursday Night Football that everyone—coaches, players Pittsburgh Steelers Womens Hoodie , fans and the media—complains about and/or acts surprised by, as if it was flexed from a 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon game at the very last minute.“Thursday night football is the worst! I had to sell my tickets because I have to work in the morning,” says you. “The NFL only pretends to care about player safety! How can the league say it cares if it continues to insist on playing these asinine Thursday night games,” asks your average journalist/radio talking head every. Single. Time. Then, of course, there are the coaches andplayers who grumble that three days just isn’t enough time to get ready for an opponent, a curious concern, considering those very same people often use bye week rust as a reason for poor performance on the football field.I get it Womens Customized Pittsburgh Steelers Jerseys , nobody likes Thursday night games, nobody except the networks who are obviously still garnering bigger ratings than your typical scripted television show by airing prime-time football. Otherwise, we’d have to endure more of those annoying“Is the NFL in serious trouble?” articles each and every week whenever the television viewing numbers are released to the public. You can count the Steelers among the many NFL teams who do not enjoy these football games. Pittsburgh (5-2-1) will have to face a very good football team without the benefit of a full week of rest and practice. The Steelers will be going up against an opponent with an elite passer, a dynamic offense and a pretty good defense. Guess what? So will the 6-2 Panthers. And the bad part for Carolina is it will have to do all of those things as the road team.Advantage: Steelers. While the Steelers have had the benefit of enduring the short week in the city of Pittsburgh, the Panthers have had to endure part of it at two airports, and the other part of it at the team hotel. Sure, Steelers’ players must stay at a hotel the night before a game, but they don’t have to wash all of that travel off of their bodies before mentally preparing for their opponents. There’s a reason most sports teams—even the really good ones—struggle a little more away from their home venues. There’s that aforementioned travel time www.steelerscheapauthenticstore.com , the crowds, and, yes and those officials that are no doubt influenced by those crowds, fans that are often very biased in favor of the guys who didn’t have to go through airport security. To quote an anonymous NBA assistant coach after his team was stuck out at an airport hangar for hours on the day of a regular season road game: “We don’t have a chance of winning this motherbleeper.” There are many reasons the Steelers might lay an egg tonight at Heinz Field as they try to play an important football game on a short week. But the Panthers have one more very important reason they’ll likely be the team in trouble: they’ll be showing up in their road whites. www.nflshopoutlet.com/cincinnati-bengals
