"A presence more sinister than any demon hangs over Sanctuary….
It watched from the shadows as a hero of nephalem lineage struck down Diablo, the Prime Evil, and trapped the demon lord within the Black Soulstone.
It waited in silence as the mortal armies of Sanctuary crushed the leaderless remnants of the Burning Hells and scattered them into the stinging winds of Kehjistan.
Now, as hope springs anew, its long vigil has ended.
Shrouded in mystery and imbued with a power as ancient as the universe itself, it comes to the war-torn world of Sanctuary. It cannot be stopped. There is no escape.
In its wake, only death will remain."
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls
Level cap raised to 70
Every class gets new Skills and Runes.
Act V implemented
Advance through additional levels of supremacy, mastering bold new powers of raw, demon-slaying potential along the way. Customize your strengths with an improved Paragon system. Battle your way through newly randomized 3D maps and epic new quests in Act V. And test your mettle in all-new game modes—including Loot Runs and Nephalem Trials—designed to provide players with a highly replayable (and highly rewarding) end-game experience.
New craft vendor: The Mystic
Can Transmogrify items, so you don't have to sacrifice looks for power.
Item Enchanting - allows to re-roll one of the affixes on a rare/legendary item (ie. Swap out AGI for STR).
New Feature: Loot Runs
15-20 minute 100% randomised dungeons. Random weather, Random enemies, Random boss! Several levels deep.
Paragon system redesigned
Is now Account wide (this means if your HC character dies, you can re-invest the Paragon points into a different character).
There is no longer a cap on Paragon levels/points. Sky is the limit.
Each Paragon level allows you to invest into your choice of character stats. 1 Paragon level = +1 STR.
Paragon points will be retroactive. This means if you're Paragon level 100 before the expansion, you'll have 200 Paragon points ready to spend on launch day.
Loot system redesigned
A comparison was given between how items in Act III drop now and how they'll drop in the expansion:
Before: 256 white, 399 blue, 275 yellow and one legendary items.
After: 73 white items, 266 blue items, 83 yellow items and 7 legendary items!
Legendary will be build-changers as seen in the screenshots below:
New Class: The Crusader
Inspired by the Paladin.
Strength based hero.
Focuses on Shields.
Uses Flails as weapons.
Mid-range melee character.
Uses the resource "Wrath"
The next chapter in Sanctuary's epic saga has been unveiled. Prepare to take on Death itself in Diablo III's upcoming expansion set: Reaper of Souls.
In Reaper of Souls, players will explore haunting new environments and face down fearsome new enemies within and beyond the world of Sanctuary as they seek to unlock the mysteries of Malthael, the Angel of Death.
Stalwart adventurers can choose to continue their journey as one of five existing heroes—the Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Witch Doctor, or Wizard—or adopt the mantle of a new class: the Crusader, a fierce melee warrior whose command of the battlefield is matched only by his unwavering conviction.
There's always that bit of hope in me they can turn Diablo 3 around to a game similar in replay value and enjoyment to Diablo 2. I am sure it is profitable for them and by no means is a failure of a game but I definitely was sad I dropped playing it after a month when I still play Diablo 2 every now and again.
Yeah I likely won't buy it outright and wait for reviews.. which is odd usually I fanboy insta buy anything Blizzard from a series I have played before.
I still play D3 from time to time but the breaks are getting longer and longer. Regardless, an expansion will breathe new life into this title. I will most likely be one of the first to get my hands on it. Hopefully it does bring in some of the dynamics that D2 had.
I must be like the only person who didn't smash the game 24/7 when it first came out. I still play it casually and regularly, still love it. :P
Yeah I've jumped on it a few times and around the same time as the steam sale, my mates and I all went through and finished the uber bosses on mp10. Haven't touched it since then, though.
I don't know how eager I am to jump on the shitty game bandwagon, I mean I think I've sunk about 200 hours into it and for the $60 I paid I'm pretty happy. There are plenty of games I've paid more/same for and barely touched.

Haha yeah I'm about 350 hours deep and I haven't managed to get a HC char to max level yet! ~52 is cursed.
I Still play diablo 3 casually and still love it, the ubers added much replayability to me, as i just keep farming hellfire rings haha! only leveled the one char to 60 hardcore! (currently 2 para on hardcore) im too paranoid of dying now

The need for premonition powers to survive as a non-tank killed it for me. I'd pay twice retail for an offline copy. Unlikely to buy it at all if online only. Maybe if there were an Aussie server (less likely than an offline version).
I'll probably get it...cause I'm a sucker for that shit...Then i'll play through it, Rip through Inferno and then give up and go back to LoL and Starcraft

i actually found d3 kinda fun lol.. even tho havent finished d3 campaign due to sc2 addiction, laziness and studies. i would buy the expansion :P (i never played D2 so that might explain why my standard is lower than others? :P)
