Hello Hello, and welcome to yet another SC2 Scene News, with me your pal, Ridiculisk. This week I'll be bringing you updates from Tt-Esports, EG, and much more. Read on to find out what's going down.
On December 31st EG announced that they had acquired Park "JYP" Jin Young, a young Korean Protoss player. A former team-mate of EG's "Puma", JYP is known for his particularly strong PvP and PvZ, boasting an impressive 70% win rate in both match-ups.
JYP is set to don the EG Blues and represent them in Season 1 of the GSL this year.
JYP had this to say about his new home;
Quote:
"I'm really happy to be joining EG, whom I consider the number one foreign team. I would like to use this great opportunity to show good results and I hope both the Korean fans and foreign fans would cheer me on,"
2.Tt E-sports signs Mammoth deal with Korean team PRIME.
On January 4th 2012, world leader in E-sports Thermaltake signed a partnership agreement with the Korean powerhouse team PRIME for Korean and global events in 2012.
Global Esports Community Manager Eric Brinkley comments on the partnership:
Quote:
“I have been a huge fan of the PRIME team for a very long time, and since his desire to attend MLG had been made public, I have been trying to find a way to make this partnership possible. Following our strong entrance into the Korean market later in 2011, I worked with our Korean distributor as well as our internal staff to make this wish a reality. I am very excited to see the PRIME team join the Tt eSPORTS family and I am even more excited to help players like MarineKing provide more possibilities in 2012.”
In addition to representing the Tt brand in Korea, the partnership also opens doors for PRIME branded Tt products in the future.
Recently former WeMade.Fox player "Pepe" was signed to the new team "eSahara". eSahara have had some recent success with acquisitions like Naama and Deathangel , who have been sent to Korea to represent the team.
However, following the announcement, eSahara were informed by two differents parties that said "Pepe" was an impostor trying to scam eSports organisations.... 0.0
Thankfully, the crisis was averted before any serious damage was done.
Valentin "RetoX" Berrouka had this to say about the incident;
Quote:
I want to thank personnally, as well as on behalf of eSahara, the Teamliquid.net community for making the truth come out before our organization spent anything on this player.
We also would like to apologize to our fans, to Kim Seong Jin as well as WeMade.Fox for this unfortunate turn of event. We learn from our mistakes and despite the damage done by this to our credibility, which I take full responsibility for, I hope you can keep on supporting and cheering for eSahara and its teams and players.
