So where did all the misinformation about standing room come from then? I didn't believe it was absolutely 100% necessary to get an allocated seat to be able to attend...
I hope for the sake of Australian esports that ur trolling vanzr...

Nowhere. Infeza is not organising this tournament or tickets. There are 2 people that you should look for responses from: JB Hewitt & myself.
I know it's not you guys saying it, but I'm just incredibly pissed off at all the members of the community who claim to have some knowledge of what's going on insisting that we'll be fine with standing room.
It's disgusting that they'd make claims on your behalf with clearly no knowledge of what is going on. And I'm now even more disappointed because I didn't think I needed to take getting a ticket so seriously.
Someone go hire a tent and an inflatable screen & Projector and put it outside and watch if you can't get in!
Or organise a barcraft for it? The next best thing for people who can't get in i guess?
Even if ACL did not say that there wouldn't be any general admission for standing room.. it should have been stated that way...
This really is a gigantic kick in the nuts to all of SEA... THE BIGGEST TOURNAMENT IN AUSTRALIAN ESPORTS HISTORY!! THE BEST CASTERS IN THE WORLD!! btw.. 300 tickets for the quickest on ONE morning.. if u cant get to a computer on a MONDAY MORNING because of.. oh i dunno.. WORK?! too bad u can't come unless u volunteer?
Are you going to have 100's of volunteers? Is that where it's coming from? you need volunteers? because I'm sure loads of people would be willing to help out here and there even if they had their admission sorted and everything..
This is so unfair to so many people

I don't actually know anything so don't take any advice from me, i just heard that there are tickets for seats, not entry.
I think just about everyone was under the impression there'd be standing room for GA, and that ticket reservation was just for seats. It's mentioned in comments throughout this thread, on blogs throughout the site, etc. It would be most unusual if everyone thought this way based on no information from a credible source.
Even if ACL did not say that there wouldn't be any general admission for standing room.. it should have been stated that way...
"There are only 300 tickets available for each day and are served on a strictly first come first served basis."
This entire process has been managed and discussed with Blizzard. Once Tastosis signed on we have done our best to try and accommodate people wherever we could but knew this would be an issue and have tried to be as clear & fair about it to everyone.
The volunteer thing is just a small opportunity for some people to help out. Nobody is being forced to volunteer. Bear in mind that we are a volunteer organisation anyway.
Clever move by ACL to force people to volunteer so they don't need to pay for more hands...
I don't know what volunteer jobs are actually available and what you'll be doing, but if someone joins to help setup and pack up and you get entry into the venue than that's awesome.
Helping out eSports by assisting the event AND you get to watch AND you'll probably spend some time/meet with the illustrious tastosis. but i don't know, just my opinion.
So i don't see a problem with this. I think There is a LOT of set up going to be needed

I'm happy to volunteer for quite a few things if I know what volunteer jobs you're looking for...
I think the small number of people flying interstate will be able to come to accomodations.
I think some people missed out cos they have work or whatever. It sucks that this is the case but it's kindof like a concert in that there's no fair way to stagger the tickets its just a first come first serve.
Just want everyone to stay calm, we all want a piece of Tastosis but lets not ruin it by going "all /r starcraft" as duckville says. Vanz's job is to make it clear that he can't guarantee everyone a seat whilst trying to accomodate as many as possible. Hold your horses and if you just spend $1000 on flights and accomodation send him a PM and see if you can help out in a volunteer role or something of the sort to guarantee your entry.
Shame we can't get more people in but most of the other nations WCS have had what looked like seating for only 100-200 observers so we're somewhat lucky. Unfortunately this is a FREE event and so Blizzard can't just rent out a giant stadium, even their pockets aren't that deep.
Dox did actually say there was standing room on System's podcast last week... I believe this is where the confusion came from as he is generally seen as an official ACL source.
Just more annoying than anything to have conflicting sources of information.
