When forming the x5 SC2 Academy, we always said that we wanted dedicated individuals with a good attitude and commitment to Starcraft 2.
RunaMoK has been self funding his flight and acommodation all over the country to participate in ACL events. He approaches Starcraft 2 methodically, analysing his every game to see what he could have done different and better. It's this kind of mindset that has translated into his continuous improvement. When shortlisting Academy recruits, it made Josh an easy choice for us.
On top of that, the man has talent. He's had some impressive finishes as of late in the ACL series. We think that with the right coaching from PiG and JunO, he has the capacity to break out onto the x5 roster.
So for those of you who don't know RunaMoK, we took the liberty of finding out a few things about him.
Q: So who are you:
My names Josh (aka "RunaMoK") im a 22 year old Terran player from Melbourne, Australia
Q: What's your background in Starcraft 2
I've been playing since the release of WOL. I've been obsessed with real time strategy games since Starcraft 1. I was first introduced to it by an older mate of mine when I was 12 and I was instantly hooked. I played the game every weekend and it slowly snowballed until I purchased my first PC and navigated my way to ICCUP.
Q: What else do you do?
I currently am a jack of all trades, I do part time work at a local Kmart and I develop conceptual logos and graphics for business. Most recently I am working on a project that will help Personal Trainers to generate leads and create an internet presence to further their brand. I'm also studying Information Technology and like any nerd baller I need to look into the future and I see only two options; E sports or a specialized IT consultant.
Q: What do you go great?
Everything I set my eyes on. I'm a highly competitive person and it makes me seek and excel at what ever I put my mind to!
Q: What's your most memorable moment in SC2
It has to be the GSL finals between MVP and Squritle. I remember being at Barcraft on the edge of my seat as the king of wings was showing us why he was still top dog of the era, only to have my breathe taken away by some god forbidden vortex and watched as 20+ battle cruises just got rekt and for MVP to lose the series!
Q: What are your goals
I have a high ambition to become the strongest Terran in this region and begin to knock off players from their respective pedestals then ill set my crosshairs on international tournaments.
Q: Tell us something that no one knows about you
I need to go through serious physiotherapy on my right hand wrist. When I was 18 I broke my Scaphoid bone during an indoor soccer match and had it in plaster for 1 year to give it the chance to heal. Only find out I needed surgery before the bone would completely die inside my wrist and possibly cause me to have my hand amputated due to high risk of gangrene, due to the single vein inside the bone had been severed upon breaking my wrist.
After surgery I was in a splint for a further 10 months (up until my 20th birthday ) where I was then finally in a position to begin movement on my wrist and forearm.
Before this time ( 18 ) I was running one of the top FPS clans/ team known as Higher Glory or -|HG|- we had chapters through halo online, Urban Terror, Tremulous and Call of duty modern warfare 1 and I was rated among one of the best players in Australia throughout these tittles.
Q: Is there anything else that you would like to add?
I have been doing some soul searching lately between two positions in eSports as of late. I am the leader of a clan which had the end goal to form into a professional team but the scene is young and I have always been a lead by example in order to recruit the best I must be the best. So I have made the decision to become a player, this is also due to my competitive nature I guess haha.
I would like to showcase a responsible, strong work ethic style player willing to put in the effort both in game and out of to carry through to a successful result in tournaments and ultimately represent x5 and Australia to the wider global audience.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and by all means join me on my journey!

I was impressed with your little book of notes and what seems like a very strong work ethic and mindset to SC2. Always someone I've kept an eye on as an upcoming player to look out for and I hope that with the help from x5 you will be able to make the transition into the top tier of players and take on the world!

Yes please, I need some terran to cast. Would love to see some more local terran to hype up.
Josh is looking a lot stronger than ever before from what I've seen from him. Looking forward to seeing how he continues to improve under the Exile 5 banner!
that defeats the purpose cuz now we know about it it isnt something that no one knows about him now im calling shenanigans
old mate mokkas here has pretty good game knowledge hes always been pretty consistent. Plus he's from Victoria which makes him pretty high up on my coolness scale
