[FFN]Friday Fun Night to be merged under Noodle Cup!
Shamelessly cross-posted from sc2online.com
With my life becoming more and more unpredictable. and also since I'd still like to host as many tournaments as I can, I figured it would be easier to run all tournaments I have under the same name.
Noodle Cups will now run either in a Single Elimination Bo3 format, or the Groups format which some of you have loved previously. I will also try something new in the upcoming Noodle Cup, which is to group EVERYONE into 4 groups, and do a Double Elimination Bo1 from there, with the top 2 advancing to the Top 8 playoffs.
Instead of posting a new thread for every tournament I host, I will now also have a single megathread for all Noodle Cups, where the OP will be updated with the next (and possible next few) Noodle Cup, so all you have to do is just visit the thread to check for updates. I will also post each time I create a new tournament. Noodle Cups should be posted with at least 1 day notice.
As we transit from 2015 to 2016, one thing that I've experimented with previous FFNs is the "automated tournament" system, where I let you guys update your own scores and have player-admins ready to revert any scores that are wrongly reported. Thankfully, no one has abused the system and created a ruckus yet. I hope 2016 will be as smooth sailing! The main reason why I implemented the player-admin system is so that any player-admin can immediately respond to a situation should I need to be away / not present at the tournament completely.
I hope this change won't affect anyone, Friday Fun Nights would have definitely held a place in some of your hearts (especially EnDerr, the winningest player for that tournament). If you have any suggestions for new format or any other feedback, just let me know by posting in this thread!
TLDR - FFN is now Noodle Cup, megathread for all Noodle Cups to be created, player-admin system to be retained, give feedback in this thread if you want.
